My sister and I and our older children (pre-teens & up) have just returned from a wonderful stay at this condo. We'd love to come back, if we ever have the opportunity to visit the area again. The unit was impeccably clean, well-maintained, nicely decorated, sunny & cheerful. Being a corner unit, there's plenty of natural light coming in, which we loved. The screened-in balcony is spacious and has a nice, natural view of trees on both open sides, and also lets the breeze flow through without having to deal with any pesky insects. It was perfect for relaxing breakfasts in the sunshine! Each bedroom has its own bathroom, and also its own TV, which worked out well for our 2 families. (There's also a TV/DVD player in the living area.) We liked having access to a washer and dryer in the unit as well. Outside, the kids enjoyed playing in the pool and the lazy river, while the moms took it easy in the chaise lounges. The grounds are very pretty -- nicely landscaped. The beach itself is really nice, accessed by a few boardwalks that take you over the grassy dune-area. We liked that the resort buildings are set a fair way back from the beach, giving it a more open feel. When we were there (late-ish March), there weren't many people at the beach, even though the weather was perfect (upper 70's, low 80's). The water was chilly, but that didn't seem to bother the kids at all, as they spent hours in the waves. We felt that the location of this condo was great -- easy access to highway 17, which is the main route to the airport & Myrtle Beach to the north, and also to Charleston in the south. There's a grocery store right across the highway, there are plenty of restaurants in the area to choose from, and cute places to shop. (We enjoyed a few quaint cottage-style shopping spots in the Pawley's Island area, just off 17. Yummy fudge, cutesy things, outdoor rockers & hammocks, and even a little stream & bridge where the kids found turtles & ducks.) Brookgreen Gardens is really nice: gardens, ponds and a variety of beautiful outdoor statues. My daughter, an enthusiastic photographer, came away with lots of great shots. The tulips were gorgeous! Charleston is a great day-trip; we went on a narrated carriage ride in the historic district, cooled off in the outdoor fountains & shopped at the downtown market. The carriage-ride is really a must-do; learned so much & saw so much! To sum up, our time at Litchfield Beach was great, and this condo was just perfect for us!
