Cute Cabin! We named this cute, knotty pine cabin after our 'Papa Bear' who created our family legacy with a Tahoe cabin for summer and winter adventures. Now, we are sharing the cabin with you to create your own memories - whether family vacation, couple's getaway, honeymoons or ski vacation. The access is fabulous, right on the highway so you won't get stuck in the snow, with a wide, level driveway that can fit four cars and a boat.
Lake View! There's a view of Lake Tahoe from the deck and the living room.
Features! The cabin can sleep five to six people. There are two bunkbeds in one room, sleeping four; and a queen bed, that can sleep one to two people. Paneled in knotty pine throughout, the cabin has cute features such as an open bar between the kitchen and dining room, a woodstove, nice TV, etc.
Dog Friendly! In the back is a small, fenced enclosure where you can let your dog out without worry of Fido wandering away.
No Smoking! Please don't rent this cabin if you are a smoker.
Close to resorts! The cabin is located in the middle of the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, close to Northstar, Homewood, Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley, as well as Tahoe Cross Country Ski Center. Many more ski areas are within an hour's drive. There are beaches across the North Shore, public bus access right out the front door, restaurants and shopping within minutes.
This cabin opens the door to a wonderful world of Tahoe adventures.

The family which jointly owns Papa Bear's Tahoe Cabin shares a love of Lake Tahoe and frequently visits this special place. Of the three children, the Caninos have lived in Cedar Flat, just a few blocks away, for more than 20 years; the Bransons are in the Reno/Sparks area and the Borgias family comes for frequent visits from Denver.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 1995
Papa Bear chose to purchase this property so he could spend his summers golfing at Old Brockway Golf Course and enjoying his friends along the lake. After he went to heaven, his kids continue the legacy of a love of Tahoe.
You will encounter a Tahoe experience in this cute cabin that you could not have in a motel or resort. You will experience Tahoe's quaint past in this cabin, while enjoying all Tahoe's many resorts, restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing opportunities.
Thank you for allowing my husband and I to stay in your lovely home! The weather has been great! it was a great way to enjoy our one-year anniversary along with the last trip before our little one arrives! hope to visit when he/she is old enough to appreciate God's gift (wonderful Lake Tahoe)!
Papa Bear's Cabin is as advertised - a cute little cabin that's well suited for a small family. It's not fancy but if that doesn't bother you, it's a nice retreat in a good location to access a lot of fun things. The owner was responsive and treated us well.
Spotless and great location. As everyone else has commented, great for dogs as well. We'll be back.
We had a great experience at Papa Bear's Cabin! It is really comfortable and well-decorated in a woodsy bear theme, which really helps give you that "getaway" feel. There were four of us plus two dogs and I know we all enjoyed it, from taking in the fresh air and sun the wooded back yard to relaxing on the front deck to skiing at Diamond Peak and coming "home" to relax in front of the fire. You can tell the owners take great pride in this place and it shows! We would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.
This place truly is a home away from home. I am someone who travels A LOT and it is very rare to truly feel at home when you are in a foreign city and far from your real home. Well Papa Bear's Tahoe Cabin somehow accomplishes this rare feat. Literally everything you could need to be comfortable is there. I am a true foodie and love to cook and was overly impressed with the kitchen gadgets and appliances available to me. The only thing lacking for some would be a dishwasher but I didnt mind. I cooked up a storm! My fave was using the crockpot to be able to come home to stew after a day of skiing. The waffle maker for yummy homemade waffles etc.
The cabin is small but plenty big enough for my family of three and our pup. We could have accomodated a few more kids as well. Our 7 year old loved it! Perfect proximity to Squaw Valley Mountain. Only a few minutes from awesome sledding. The grocery store was nearby so we could stock up the house. We rented dvd's from redbox and watched them on the dvd player they provide. We had a fire two nights. We fully took advantage of everything Papa Bear's had to offer.
Overall a terrific visit. I plan to come back again to Tahoe and will without a doubt look to stay at papa bears cabin again!
We completely enjoyed out stay at Papa Bear's Cabin. The cabin had everything we needed for an easy, comfortable vacation. We so appreciate the owners providing a pet-friendly accommodation too! Thank you to the family of Papa Bear's Cabin! We hope to return!
My wife and I had our honeymoon here. The area was great for hiking and driving. The cabin was a cozy little spot that we greatly enjoyed. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a cozy cabin in the Tahoe area.
