Spectacular Year Round Lake Home Retreat on South Long Lake

It had been many years since we had been to northern Minnesota for a vacation and this rental was the perfect family getaway! The home is beautiful with plenty of room for everyone to spread out without feeling like we were on top of each other. The deck, firepit area and recliners by the deck doors were all great places to relax with a book or look at the view. There were roasting sticks for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows over the fire pit. The kitchen has most anything you would need. I was pleasantly surprised to even find a grill basket for grilling vegetables. There are homes on either side but no one was there during the week so it was very quiet. We got a close up view of a bald eagle, the loons and deer. Our youngest enjoyed the puzzle and hi ho cheerio game and we also played cribbage and cards. There was plenty to do for all ages. The kids enjoyed swimming and using the floaties and the paddle boat. For the fishermen, there is a fishing guide that is specific to the Lake. The cabin is very clean and the owners are very gracious hosts. They answered all of our questions very quickly. This will definitely be a return destination for us!
