Why Shari chose Hiawassee
The incredible views from the chalet drew me to the property. The added benefit is that it is in Hiawassee! I am from Atlanta originally and have been all over the North Georgia area and this is the prettiest area with so much to offer. Hiawassee is a quaint up and coming town. Lake Chatuge and layers of mountains surrounds the town with some of the prettiest views I've ever seen. I love the variety of restaurants and shopping. Some of the restaurants are on or overlooking the lake. It's a fun place to be. In the summer you have all the water activities literally 5 min down the road (boating, boat & jet ski rentals, swimming, etc) and close to hiking and several waterfalls. It's just the perfect place in Georgia to get-a-way!
Guestbook comments from the owner
We visited the Chalet in Hiawassee from Sept 21-28 as an escape from the Florida heat. We were not disappointed. We packed a cooler filled with food so we could relax and cook many meals in.
The views from the porch rockers were nothing short of spectacular and changed daily, if not hourly. We enjoyed sipping coffee wearing long sleeves and enjoying the cool morning air.
A hike to the top of Brasstown Bald rewarded us with a 360 degree view of 3 states.
We very much enjoyed our meals at both Michaelee’s and The Chophouse.
Next time we will certainly take trips to the many waterfalls in the area.
We also want to take day trips to Murphy, NC, Blairsville, GA, and lots of other towns.
Overall, the chalet was a very enjoyable & comfortable place to relax and enjoy the first few days of fall. We will definitely be back
