You can have it all here: live right on Rowleys Bay in a charming, airy waterfront house. Our beautiful home is intimate enough for a quiet getaway or big enough for a reunion with family and/or friends.
The home is situated just north of Sister Bay on the banks of Rowleys Bay, a beautiful, all natural waterfront looking out on Lake Michigan. It’s adjacent to the Mink River Estuary, a protected nature preserve. There is beautiful unspoiled scenery all around the home —perfect for bird watching, hiking, etc. The home is quiet and secluded, but also located near the Rowleys Bay Resort (formerly the Wagon Trail) with its many amenities. These include a restaurant and pub, Grandma’s Swedish Bakery for delicious treats all day long (open June-Oct.), an indoor pool, whirlpool, game room and playground for the kids. A marina at the resort offers kayaking and boat rentals in season for exploring the Bay and the Mink River. Bicycling is also a great way to view the beauty of the area.
The house, which sleeps from 2-11, has it all, including four spacious bedrooms (two with views of the Bay), a hide-a-bed in the living room, a modern, spacious, full-service kitchen, and a screened porch and beautiful deck with lovely, pristine lake views. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths upstairs, 1 bedroom and 1.5 baths downstairs. There is even your own private Lake-front access for water play by day and star-gazing by night.
The home is perfect for all occasions--and fun for all with a VCR/DVD player and satellite TV. It is available year round—in fact, winter offers
beautiful scenery along with peace and tranquility. You can text and check e-mail from our living room--our home has free WiFi access.
You can do as you like--relax at home, or visit and enjoy world class shopping, golfing and mini golf in one of the many charming towns just a short drive away (Ellison Bay, Sister Bay, Ephraim, etc.). You can enjoy nature near our house or at nearby Newport State Park, or have fun with the kids at the Rowleys Bay Resort lodge.
Our guest book is full of delightful messages from happy guests. We’d love to share our home with you!

Our family has been coming to Rowleys Bay for several years, drawn back year after year by the natural beauty of the Bay and Lake Michigan. We loved it so much, we decided to build a lovely year round home here. Newport State Park is directly across the Bay from our house--a beautiful unchanging backdrop to the Bay and Lake. Nearby Sister Bay (a short drive away) has always been one of our favorite towns in Door County, WI. Al Johnson's Restaurant, Sister Bay Bowl and Supper Club, and Pirates Cove mini-golf are just some of the many fun attractions there. We can experience the seclusion of our house, nearby Rowleys Bay Resort, and Sister Bay all together--the best of all worlds in this lovely setting.
Our house offers peaceful seclusion, but all the fun of the Rowleys Bay Resort lodge. Our kids were young when we started coming to Rowleys Bay, but they loved walking to the lodge for their own fun time. We could go there with them OR (more fun for them) they could go by themselves (the resort grounds are quiet and family friendly). They loved the game room, Grandma's bakery and the swimming pool.
We loved the house and our grandchildren loved it as well (they loved watching the hummingbirds outside). We have no suggestions as it was a nice quiet getaway.
My family has been to this well-appointed lake home many times, and each time, we marvel at the beauty of the tranquil setting. It is well laid out with four spacious bedrooms, and 3 1/2 baths, and the view of the lake is so peaceful! There is wireless connection for those who wish it, and it's a short walk to a small pub, bakery, and restaurant. Guests also can use the indoor pool, whirlpool, and fun game room at the nearby lodge, so there truly is something for everyone in the family! You'll love this place - we sure do.
We truly enjoyed every minute of our stay and all agreed that we should have booked at least one night more. Our group included 3 adult couples and our 3 children under the age of 9 months and your home was the perfect location for us. We were able to spread out and each have our own space along with giving the babies their own room to share. On Friday evening we enjoyed drinks on the lawn of the restaurant while the babies played happily in the grass. It was definitely our favorite memory from the weekend. Saturday night the adults sat on the rocks near the beach to take in the stars and we were able to see 5 shooting stars! It was gorgeous.
Thank you for opening your home to us and for keeping such a lovely home for guests to stay. We look forward to being back again in the future.
We had a great time at your house in Rowley's Bay - thanks so much for making it available to us!
We were a group of nine friends. We walked around the resort, took a trail to the Mink River and also
did some hiking in Newport State Park. We did a lot of cooking in the house, played some games, and hung out in the living room by the fireplace. The house was very comfortable and perfect for our needs. I especially appreciated the wide variety of cooking equipment available in the kitchen. Thanks again!
We enjoyed our stay in your home last week. The beds were very comfortable, the view was fantastic and we loved the huge dining room table. We were so busy enjoying ourselves we never got around to signing the guest book. One of the highlights was seeing a porcupine next to the house on several occasions. We also enjoyed kayaking in the Mink River Estuary although it was a bit difficult getting there from the Lake Michigan side because of the low water level. There is another way if you have a 2-wheel cart coming down from the road leading to Newport State Park. We saw an eagle, several kingfishers, and some type of aquatic rodent in the Estuary. We also enjoyed biking the local trails and roads and the trails of Newport and Peninsula State Parks. The Segway tour was also big hit.
Our whole family enjoyed this spacious, beautiful home right on the water! The kids loved roaming the beach and swimming in the lake just steps out the back door, and the view is spectacular! Enjoyed jet skis, fishing, the drive-in movie, and shopping in Door County, then loved coming home to this well-appointed retreat. The set-up is great for families and couples, and many of the best times were around the large kitchen table for meals and games. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us!
My family recently stayed at this home which served as the unofficial "headquarters" for our large family reunion. It proved to be ideal for our needs, and I highly recommend it to others looking for a lakeside accommodation.
This house features large, open rooms that make it light and airy. The fully equipped kitchen makes the choice of eating out or "dining in" rather difficult, especially considering that one can watch dusk settle in over the waters of Lake Michigan in the privacy of one's own spacious back deck.
This house is nestled in the midst of natural woodland that separates adjacent properties. The sense of privacy and seclusion is wonderful--yet it is nice to know that additional amenities are conveniently located in the nearby Rowleys Bay Resort, as well as ten-minutes drive await in other lake-side communities. We managed to combine many experiences over the course of a week's stay, sometimes exploring the penninsula's many attractions, but often just soaking up the ambiance of our house on the lake.
It is very difficult to find a place that "has it all"--but I think we've found it! My family is already talking about returning here in the not-too-distant future.
