House, 4+ Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5+ Baths (Sleeps 8-14)

Minnetonka Cape Cod Vintage Charmer with classic features throughout. First floor includes a large living room with a wood burning fireplace and leather queen sleeper sofa, a center hall with mahogany stairs, formal dining room, bathroom, refinished hardwood floors, several closets and entry rooms, antiques and leather furniture. The first floor also has a bedroom with a mahogany 4 post double bed. Adjacent to the bedroom and separated by room darkening draperies is a sun room with a leather couch, an antique English armoire, French doors to the backyard gardens and folding doors to the living room which can be secured. The fully equipped kitchen has a refrigerator with ice and water, stove with convection oven, dishwasher, disposal, Corian counter tops with marble back splashes, etc. Lower level includes a new bedroom, bathroom with marble shower and family room. The second floor includes bedrooms, all of which have antique desks, and a full bathroom with new granite topped vanity.

Gardens and patio: Outside there is a large brick patio with three tables, gas grill, wood burning stove, etc. all surrounded by gardens and paths to the large, private rolling yard with its pond, waterfalls, professional landscaping and gardens.

Gorgeous acre of gardens and rolling landscaping with pond, waterfalls, birds, deer and wildlife. Pick your own flowers, apples, cherries and raspberries. Antiques, hardwood floors, brick patio and sidewalks, basketball hoop, regional bicycle trail 200' away with bikes included. Set on a secluded, safe cul-de-sac of 5 homes on acre lots seemingly away from it all but convenient to Interstates 494, 394, Lake Minnetonka with its 125 miles of shoreline, Shady oak Beach, Minneapolis and its Chain of Lakes, downtown Hopkins and its farmer's market, Excelsior and Wayzata with their boat cruises, upscale shopping and restaurants. Walk to Minnehaha Creek, 3 parks, tennis courts, Dunn Brothers coffee shop, churches, art and historic tours of Minnetonka Mills. Biking distance to Ridgedale Mall, Target, Hennepin County Library, etc.

Kid Friendly:: Minnetonka has about 50 parks including several within walking distance. Minnehaha Creek runs through Burwell park 3 blocks away which is a historic farmstead/flour mill with picnic grounds. Meadow park is a short walk or ride up bicycle trail and has tennis courts, play equipment, walking paths through huge nature preserve, ball field, picnic areas, hockey and ice rinks. Home comes with basketball hoop and ball, soccer ball, football and room to play. Baseball and tennis equipment upon request. Shady Oak Beach is a short drive and has lifeguards, swimming dock, diving boards, etc. Lake Minnetonka has 125 miles of shorline, numerous swimming areas including a beautiful guarded beach at Excelsior Commons, fishing, excursion boats including $10 narrated tours aboard the 1906 Steamboat Minnehaha operated by the MN Transportation Museum. Minnetonka, and nearby towns of Hopkins and Excelsior all have farmer's markets.

Perfect family house

The house was perfect - charming, quiet yet conveniently located, and roomy. It was even better than I had hoped for.

My sister was getting married in the Twin Cities, and my husband and I were able to stay here with my brother and sister and their families, and my parents. The house is on a large yard on a cul-de sac off a quiet, wooded road that lulls you into feeling that you are in the country. There were two convenient playgrounds nearby, a historic house and mill site with a park a few blocks away, and a convenience store and two places to get ice cream within walking distance!

The house itself is lovely, with thoughtful 1930s and 40s elements, and the hammock and ponds in the yard were a treat. It was also conveniently near a Super-Target and a full-service grocery store. I would absolutely rent this house again.

Great House!!!

This very nice home was as described! Exeptionally clean and well maintained! Excellent neighborhood and plenty of restauants and shopping nearby! Located on a culdasac so no traffic or street noise. There was a really nice park up the street for the kids to play in. Kitchen was well stocked with all you need but the food! Plenty of room! We slept 6 adults and 3 children easily! Never felt like we were tripping over ourselves. Very relaxing!!! Owner and caretaker were easily contacted! Would rent again in a minute!!!

Great Property

The property was everything that was mentioned. Great location,quiet neighborhood,close to restaurants and shopping. The house layout and description was accurate. The upkeep of the property could of been better as we felt like we had to clean some when we arrived. The items on the shelves and inside drawers were thrown around messy. The first impression was spiderwebs across the garage doors pulling up to the house. Other then the upkeep the house was enjoyable.

We rented Jim's place for a girls weekend, and had a blast!! The house is so cute and comfortable, and the backyard and patio is amazing! We'll definitely be back again!!

Garden Club Visit

Our group consisted of 8 gals. We found the place be all that it advertised as and more. We had the most relaxing time. The home is spacious and clean. Dinner was out on the patio and breakfast in the large dining room. I plan approximately 5-7 events each year and this unit was one of the best. I speak for all that attended this weekend.

Kevin caretaker and Jim owner were so very helpful.

We visited the Arboretum at the University in Chasta. Which should be a must see for any gardener.
