House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths (Sleeps 6-8)

We started with an historic Crested Butte home at 207 Sopris that had great character but needed a first class updating. We have just finished a complete remodel and think local photographer Chris Ladoulis' photos speak for themselves. Our newly remodeled house, built in the early 1900's, embodies the Crested Butte experience. Perfectly located in the heart of the historic district, this 3 bedroom, 3 bath home is a half block from the shuttle bus stop to the ski area. No need for a car. With its prime location, this stucco home with its recently refinished hardwood floors is the ideal vacation home. Its open floor plan and warm, lively feel make for good times with family and friends. The large dining room flows into the sunlit living area, which has a new sofa sleeper and new leather chairs. The 3 bedrooms have brand new, firm Simmons mattresses with new linens. All 3 tiled bathrooms are new and come with thick, lush towels.

Why the Owner Chose Crested Butte:: We fell in love with Crested Butte in 2002 and bought in 2003. We love the Rockies and have skied all over the west. We didn't think about buying a house in the west until Crested Butte swept us off our feet. We have not regretted it for a second. Best thing we ever did.

The Unique Benefits at this House:: Year Purchased: 2003 - For winter, the shuttle bus stop to the ski mountain is 200 feet from our front door, and it runs every 15 minutes. The Nordic center for cross country skiing is 2 blocks away. All the great restaurants in town are less than a 5 minute walk. What can I say about the summer except that Crested Butte is heaven on earth. Interior designer Carolina Alling and her husband Mark have created the perfect balance in our house.   • The spacious tile bathroom features a two person Kohler jetted tub and a large steam shower big enough for 2. The heated travertine tile floor warms your feet on a cold morning. Both of the downstairs bathrooms are new. One is travertine marble and has a spa tub while the smaller bathroom has a shower.

  • We have a master bedroom suite upstairs with a new king-size bed, reclaimed oak hardwood floors, and a Santa Fe style gas fireplace. To stay in touch with work, we have an office area with a Henry Miller desk chair, a hand-crafted, built-in desk with curved counter top, wireless high-speed Internet access, and a printer for your laptop. Add a breathtaking view of Gothic Mountain from the desk, and a little work is not so bad. Downstairs, we have 2 more bedrooms and 2 more bathrooms. The larger of the 2 bedrooms has a new queen sized bed and the smaller bedroom has 2 new, twin beds.

Notes: Newly remodeled kitchen includes a new Bosch stainless dishwasher, a GE Monogram refrigerator, a curved, concrete counter top, an Italian gas cook-top, and new Tech lighting. We have Cuisinart appliances to include a coffee maker, coffee bean grinder, and an ice cream maker. The kitchen is fully equipped for gourmet cooking. Large, separate laundry room has a heavy-duty washer, a large capacity dryer, and a rack for air-drying fine clothes. Our large entry room has a ski rack, plenty of hooks for jackets, and a ski boot warmer. In the summer, enjoy the large, fenced backyard featuring two wildflower beds, aspen trees, and an irrigated lawn. Relax in a large hammock, a teak chaise lounge, or lawn chairs with ottomans. For entertainment, we have 2, top-of-the-line Sony High Definition TVs with surround sound and DVD players, 1 in the master suite. We also have Dish Network and DVR so you won't miss any of your favorite shows or sporting events. I have recorded several concerts & movies.

Great House!

There are 6 of us who take a girls trip every year. We were lucky to rent this house during the Arts Festival. It's the perfect location for walking or riding your bike to anywhere in CB.
We all loved the way the Millers tried to keep the "older house feeling." It's truly very charming!
After a long day of hiking The Elks, the beds are so comfy!
I want to definitely stay here again!

A Great Place to Stay!

We visited CB for the month of February 2011 and enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling and snowshoeing. From the minute we walked into this house we felt at home. The house is beautiful! The photos on the website truly reflect just how nice the house is and the amenities such as the jetted tub and steam shower are first class. The location is perfect.! We walked two blocks to Camp 4 Coffee every morning and only needed to walk around the corner to catch the Mountain Express shuttle for a day of skiing. We walked everywhere whether it was to go shopping, eat at one of the many great restaurants in town or take in a concert at the CB Performing Arts Center! And to top it off, the owners are wonderful hosts. They made themselves available to us by email if we needed anything whether it was how to warm up the heated floors in the MBR or where we should go for a great dinner. It was truly a vacation to remember! We will be back to CB next winter and will certainly rent this wonderful home again.
