Overview

Chattanooga Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Private Master, Kitchen, washer/dryer, covered deck, fireplace, 1 bathroom

A cozy getaway with all of the amenities. Bask in the serenity, while you enjoy a cup of coffee or a meal sitting on the covered deck that overlooks the Tennessee River. Sit back and forget the 21st Century's hustle and bustle. Enjoy watching the turtles swim lazily in the river or if you prefer gaze at the hummingbirds darting from flower to flower. Forget about your stresses, while you unwind between your outings to Lookout Mountain, Ruby Falls, Rock City, the Aquarium, the Museums and trendy restaurants downtown. We are within minutes of it all! If water skiing or fishing is what you're looking for, bring your boat or rent one and keep it at the private dock on the property. Located on 35 acres, there is plenty to explore without ever having to leave the property. Come play, rest, explore or do it all, the possibilities are endless.

Location: You can enjoy the mountains and the river while being just minutes away from downtown Chattanooga. Hike the property, go fishing or bring your boat to enjoy the river. Beautiful all year round! With an abundance of beautiful mountain and river views, don't forget your camera. Spelunking - Raccoon Mountain Cave & Ruby Falls, minutes away. Dining & Entertainment - Downtown Chattanooga & Lookout Mountain, 15 minutes. If it is quiet you want, we are off the beaten track. This is the perfect place to get away from it all while still having easy access to the city.

Warm weather: You can sit on the deck overlooking the river to enjoy the views while drinking your morning coffee. Let the hummingbirds and butterflies entertain you while they fly from flower to flower. Spend your day boating, fishing, swimming or exploring the river in the canoe. Spend your evenings listening to the night life (frogs) while sipping a cool beverage on the deck.

Cool nights: Gather around one of the two fire pits on a chilly night. We have a fire pit located in the back yard for your larger fires or enjoy the fire pit on the deck. Either way, you can relax with friends or family while staying toasty warm on a chilly night. If you have had enough of the outdoors, you can still enjoy a roaring fire indoors. There is a fireplace in the living room that is perfect for warming up after your hike of the property with a hot cup of cocoa in your hand.

Guestbook comments from the manager

I needed to get away, needed some peace and quiet, NEEDED to relax. My fiance took me to Tennessee and we stayed here at this cabin. OMG, it was exactly what I had been telling him was missing. He made this weekend at the cabin so wonderfully fun and carefree! we grilled steaks and ate while watching the boaters go, later watching the sun go down. I was able to sit in the sun with my feet in the water, the covered porch gave us privacy and it was just perfect for the 2 of us! I hope we go again and soon!

Just as it says

  • 3 of 5
The cottage on the river is just as it was the description said. It is small, but, it was big enough for my husband and myself. The deck was GREAT!!! The yard does need some maintance, grass needed cutting, and the steps to the river are in need of repair. The owner does have a problem with ants and wasps that should be addressed. The modern kitchen was very nice and the view from the kitchen window makes you want to wash dishes all day. With the location and the barges running down the river, I had never seen one, I would recommand this cottage to my friends that do not have kids. This is a two people place.

Great, for what it is!

  • 4 of 5
The place is definitely a "cottage", small with dimly lit rooms, low ceilings, and dingy furniture in odd configurations although unexpectedly well endowed electronically. The deck is lovely, the view is gorgegous, and the setting is very serene. The place is definitely best for a couple or small family --it's not really a two bedroom as the second "bedroom" is really a niche off of the living room with a bed squeezed in. The 10 a.m. check out time is a little uncivilized, but overall it was a perfectly servicable stay in a great locale.

Wonderful deck but not so nice house

  • 1 of 5
I feel this property didn't live up to what I expected. Although we enjoyed the wonderful deck, the house was quite dirty. For example, I stayed in the second bedroom, which is really a part of a former porch cordoned off with curtains. The carpet next to the bed hadn't been vacuumed for a LONG time. Floor around the toilet was likewise filthy. There was stuff piled all over in my "bedroom" as well as around the house. I'm 5'4" and could almost put my palm on the ceilings because they are so low. Since it stormed the second day, we were forced to stay indoors which was not a pleasant experience. I'm still nursing bruises and aches which resulted from tripping at a place that two wooden walkways didn't line up with each other.
If you could stay on the wonderful deck the whole time during your visit, this would be a fabulous place.

This property sits on the Tennessee River / Nickajack Lake (Reservoir). It is located in Lookout Valley at the foot of Lookout Mountain and is just minutes from all of the popular attractions, including downtown Chattanooga. The one place you can be close to everything, but still feel secluded in your own little, private piece of heaven.
