We are a family of 5 that love to get out of NYC and into the country whenever we can make it! We love animals and gardens, and our ponds and trails. We go horseback riding and up to saugerties to see the HITS shows. Here we are pressing apples!
We wanted to be a short drive (under 2 hours) from New York City, and we love the Woodstock area cultural events and liberal mentality. We also like to rural feel of the hudson valley farm region with gobs of local foods and farm events. Hurley has the greatest concentration of historic stone houses in the country and it is a beautiful village filled with 1600's dutch architecture and antiques.
We love being on property and swimming in the pond in the summer, fishing, boating, skating and sledding in the winter, laying about on the hammocks, watching the gobs of wild animals, turkeys, deer, birds of all kinds. We have several streams on property, three ponds, endless hiking trails, leaf peeping galore, gardens, bee hives, and chickens in the spring. On inside days we love cozying up to the fireplace, watching a blue ray movie, cooking a good country meal, or playing a game of ping pong or foosball or having a Dig Dug tournament in the basement!
