The Owner purchased this cabin in 2004
I bought this property because it is the prettiest property and most peaceful place I have ever seen!
The uniqueness of this property is simple. Privacy that not many ever enjoy. It's like going back into time with a log cabin with fireplace and an incredible lake view built at the end of World War II.
This place was really nice and serene and is like a campground with little cabins - so if you are looking for a community and a shared dock then this place is perfect for you. We were looking for privacy and didn't really find it here - we wanted complete privacy (including trees between cabins and private access to the water), which this place does not have. All-in-all the space was nice and the caretaker was super helpful and kind. There are not many dishes, but plenty of clean linen. The owner kindly provided all of the fire accessories (including an axe, lighter fluid, and matches), as well as access to his boats, which I think was very generous. All-in-all we had a fine time.
We stayed for three nights in August 2014. The owner and family were there during our stay and made us feel welcome and like part of the family. They all went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and exceptional. The cabins are rustic but comfortable and beautiful. The staff on the property are friendly and helpful. My son and I could not have enjoyed our stay more. The only things missing were picnic tables and a gas BBQ area. Theses comments were shared with the owner who promised these amenities will be available by the time we return for another visit. Cooking on the charcoal grill provides great flavour which we enjoyed. The only draw back to using charcoal is remembering to light it in order to have dinner at the proper time. We always forgot or were too busy and ended up eating very late each day. We were provided with use of the amazing stove and cooktop in the lodge! Wonderful way to make breakfast and feed a large group. The lake, dock, grounds, fire pit area are all wonderful. We plan to return this September to try fishing. I highly recommend this camp to all outdoor people who enjoy nature and rustic charm and great hospitality. This is the first review I have ever written as I don't invest time in such things... But the King family was so exceptional in their hospitality and making sure your every need was met I am taking the time to thank them and recommend their camp. Thank you from Tannis and Nolan to the great people we met; Steven, Austin, Graham, Carl, JM, Barb, Lou, And Eric.
An amazing place to stay, Steve King (owner) could not have been more accomodating, Eric (caretaker) was also a great help.We stayed in the old lodge, surrounded by facinating memorabilia from days gone by. Our days were spent fishing, boating, and swimming off the dock in the clear waters of Corner Lake. Evenings were enjoyed around the campfire, stargazing,or wandering around some of the neat little shops in Vermlion Bay. (Go to Buster's for a great BBQ treat). If you are looking for a fast paced, high tech environment this is not the place to stay. But if you need a place to rest and relax, enjoy the crackle of a good campfire, the challenge of landing that big Northern Pike, would like to watch glorious sunsets, or early morning fog roll off a crystal lake, or perhaps smell a pine forest in the rain, then this is the place.
My wife and I spent our honeymoon at one of the beautiful log cabins on the lake. The view, the peacefulness, the tranquility, the solitude were what made it an amazing location for us to spend our honeymoon time together. We did not want to leave! Our future plans for anniversaries include going back to this amazing piece of heaven. If you enjoy the outdoors and some great fishing, that is an added bonus. We caught our share of Northern Pike while on our stay. If you are looking for a quiet and tranquil place to spend time with a spouse or loved one, or even a family vacation we HIGHLY recommend staying here. Words just don't do it justice.
My family and I stayed in all four of their cabins and could not believe there are places like this anymore! It is like having your private lake and the cabins are really cool! Our view every morning was breathtaking. The water and beach is clean and the dock is great to just sit and enjoy God's beauty! Hope to come back again every summer!
We stayed in one of the cabins in the summer of 2012. The property is beautiful, the views of the lake are stunning, the log cabins are charming, however, it was infested with mice and was rather shabby with ripped drapes, bad furniture and few amenities. We left after 2 days. If you want to rough it and do not mind rodents, this is your place. Don't get me wrong, it is a stunning property but it needs to have some significant money put into it to make it a vacation destination.
