6th Street loft located in hip East Austin with view of downtown from balcony, gated parking, walk to cool bars & restaurants. Lake, grocery & public transit just blocks away. 3rd floor walk up on interior towards green space for privacy & quiet. A/C, full kitchen, washer/dryer, cable TV, dining/living space, all packed into 652 cool square feet in a friendly green building.
I'm a longtime Austin resident, and stayed at YaYa loft for 2 months while waiting for my new condo to be completed. I've lived all over Central Austin, and was a fun "staycation" exploring the Eastside. The condo is in a quiet location, yet close to restaurants and bars, as well as the grocery store, library, and Lady Bird Lake trail. Within a short walk, I enjoyed John Mueller's BBQ (shorter wait in line than Franklin's!), yoga at Esquina Tango (they offer tango lessons, too) and Hi Hat for craft beer and great pub food. Within the condo, the balcony view of downtown is breathtaking, and the loft is quite spacious and comfortable. Love the eclectic-yet-modern decor, and ultra-soft sheets and thick towels in earthy, jewel-tone colors. (Not a fan of white linens, though there's a handy, stacked washer/dryer in the unit.) Kitchen is fully equipped with the basics, plus a gas stove and roomy fridge with ice maker. An earlier post mentioned the strong water pressure in the shower, and I must agree! Miss it already in my new place! The condo residents are super-friendly. Many have dogs, which are well-behaved--enjoyed watching them play in the central green/dog park in the complex. Great location in one of Austin's hippest 'hoods, clean, quiet and so-comfy, and close to everything!
As new residents in Austin, we stayed here for our first 2 months in the city while we waited for our home to be built.
For many reasons we were very happy we chose this place.
Our house kept getting delayed and thanks to the wonderful owner, we got to stay until our house was complete.
The other reason we loved this place was its location. The condo is located minutes from downtown but there are also lots of things to do in the immediate area. There are many restaurants, bars, and food trucks to try that are within walking or biking distance.
I also took advantage of the proximity to Town Lake and did several runs to the Town Lake running trails from the condo.
Overall it was a great experience, I felt like it was the perfect spot to get introduced to the Austin lifestyle.
Just stayed in the loft for a month and a half (june to mid-july 2010) while taking a summer class in architecture at the university of texas and have to say we we're very happy we chose it. it was a very inspiring place, very comfortable, and the owner julia was amazing- she had taken care of everything! and i mean everything- right down to the bottle opener! It's a spacious feeling, big one room open plan loft, painted in a stylish color scheme with a comfortable bed, cool furniture (tables ,stools, couch/chairs) modern bathroom and shower with very good water pressure ( yeah i'm a fussy traveler!) full kitchen/stove/oven/dishwasher/ microwave, even a clothes washer and dryer in the laundry closet! that was a godsend. there's also a good size clothes closet with plenty of storage capacity...high ceilings and natural light make it a happy place to hang out. a cute balcony with some cactus plants is a nice place to sit and have some wine. there is an excellent cafe just downstairs and austin's best real-deal mexican restaurant a few blocks away (la chapala). there is also a private parking space reserved! air con worked well and we slept well, most importantly! the owner was also very personable and accommodating which helps when you're in a new town, disoriented. if i go back to austin i know where i am staying.
Close to airport, Lady Bird Lake, museums, downtown, Zilker Park and all that is Austin!
