Just stayed in the loft for a month and a half (june to mid-july 2010) while taking a summer class in architecture at the university of texas and have to say we we're very happy we chose it. it was a very inspiring place, very comfortable, and the owner julia was amazing- she had taken care of everything! and i mean everything- right down to the bottle opener! It's a spacious feeling, big one room open plan loft, painted in a stylish color scheme with a comfortable bed, cool furniture (tables ,stools, couch/chairs) modern bathroom and shower with very good water pressure ( yeah i'm a fussy traveler!) full kitchen/stove/oven/dishwasher/ microwave, even a clothes washer and dryer in the laundry closet! that was a godsend. there's also a good size clothes closet with plenty of storage capacity...high ceilings and natural light make it a happy place to hang out. a cute balcony with some cactus plants is a nice place to sit and have some wine. there is an excellent cafe just downstairs and austin's best real-deal mexican restaurant a few blocks away (la chapala). there is also a private parking space reserved! air con worked well and we slept well, most importantly! the owner was also very personable and accommodating which helps when you're in a new town, disoriented. if i go back to austin i know where i am staying.
