Our vacation Home.

I found this place on a map, I looked at the photos, and like you’re doing right now, I read the reviews. I set my expecations really high, and I wasn’t disappionted. In fact I was pleasantly surprised.
My wife and I both work, our girls are in grades 11 and 12 and my wife’s 82 year old mother who lives with us had knee replacement surgery only 8 weeks ago. March Break was our chance to get away from work and school and snow. With no plans and no commitments this house was our vacation.
For my mother-in-law, the ground floor bedroom with a bathroom/shower, and lots of open space in the kitchen/living area was a blessing. She exercised in the heated pool, fussed in the kitchen, and made herself comfortable on the couch in front of the TV and with a book on a lawnchair in the lanai. Handicap parking was a few steps from our door. We had rented a wheelchair for the week. She came everywhere with us.
My daughter’s first observation was “They have wifi.” – she had been seperated from her IM network since leaving the airport. Anyone with teenages knows the hours they keep. Their bedroom (with bathroom and TV) was far enough from mine that I never heard them. The community gates made it safe to leave them sleeping while the adults went out in the mornings, or to let them walk back from the community pool when it closed at night. They got up early for Animal Kingdom, but mostly we did our attractions in the afternoon and got home late for dinner. That’s where the full kitchen came in.
My wife shopped at Publix and filled the fridge with foods for breakfast, lunch, and a few dinners. That cooler saved us a lot of money – a bottle of Disney water costs $3.50 … x 5 – it adds up fast. We had enough dishes/glasses that we never ran out. We ran the dishwasher at night – pretty much like at home. There’s a lot of good restaurants in the area (route 192) and we got out to a few of those as well.
The location is good but be prepared to drive everywhere. A good GPS can get you there and back without putting any strain on your marriage. It can also avoid traffic, find the nearest restaurant/gas/shopping malls, it can even remember where you parked the car. Get one. I did.
I had everything I needed - beer in the fridge, the ice in the freezer, steaks on the BBQ, cable TV, DSL, GPS, a good parking spot, and a comfortable bed. Everyone was happy. It was safe. I could relax.
And that's how this vacation home helped make our vacation perfect.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your review. We are happy to know you enjoyed your stay. Yes, we do have to drive around everywhere we go, but thankfully Windsor Hills is the closest 5-star resort to Disney World (only 2 miles)! We've been home from the parking lot in the Animal Kingdom in 6 minutes. Looking forward to having you back as guests!
