The Owner purchased this house in 2010
mystic is a special town year round- we wanted someplace that had charm and activities all four seasons
The property speaks for itself...its truelly a wonderful place to stay.
A fabulous home with incredible charm, space and fenced-in yard. You can walk to everything and get lost in the beautiful neighborhoods of mystic. There are not a lot of photos but this home is spacious and updated. It was so nice being able to bring our dog. We will be back again. Loved Mystic and all there was to do from hikes, to great dinners out and visits to nearby towns. Missing my early walks in town to the local coffee shop. People were so friendly.
My wife and I rented this charming house as a base for our younger son's wedding activities in Noank and Groton Long Point. Staying with us were our older son, his wife, and his two children (ages five and seven). It was perfect!
The description of the house is right on the button (see the other reviews). When we arrived, it was spotlessly clean and impeccably neat; and everything worked as it should. The house is very well appointed and the beds very comfortable indeed.
The house is very conveniently located just a short walk from downtown Mystic, where we ate most of our non-wedding meals. The oysters at The Oyster Club were delicious (highly recommended), and I indulged myself with a pre-wedding shave (a real one!) and pedicure at The Salty Dog. Just a five-minute drive from Noank, a ten-minute drive from Groton Long Point made this house the location perfect. (A major grocery store was not too far away either.)
The owners were a delight to work with. I recommend this property very highly.
My husband and I got married at Saltwater Farm Vineyard in Stonington, CT last October and chose this wonderful house for our family to stay the week of our wedding. It was the perfect home base for wedding crafts, family dinners, and backyard gatherings.
The house is absolutely beautiful with wonderful touches such as a stunning wooden dining table perfect for sharing home-cooked meals, a glass of wine, and the company of close friends. We felt comfortable as soon as we stepped in the door. The layout of the house is great with two different living room/family rooms - we had the kids watching TV in one room while the adults cooked and socialized. The wrap around yard is perfect for any pup (or high energy 3-year old). The fence was meticulously kept and the owners are clearly dog lovers; our 12 lb yorkie-poo has never been happier.
The house is conveniently located and walkable to delicious restaurants, bars, and shops. Mystic is a quaint historic seaside town and a wonderful place to visit for families, young couples, friends looking for a weekend retreat, and older travelers alike. It was a pleasure working with the owners and we highly recommend renting this home for your next vacation.
This rental is beautiful and within walking distance of downtown Mystic! The house was built in 1878 according to the name plate on the front door and has had all the recent renovations you might desire (new kitchen, bathrooms, central air!). The pictures do not include a large living room which includes one couch and two arm chairs. There are two flat screen TVs in the house (one in the living room and one in the sitting room) with all the cable choices you could want. There are 5 rooms and 2 bathrooms on the first floor. One room on the first floor is a small sun room and it wasn't really setup to use but we had plenty of space in the other 4 rooms. The bathrooms on the first floor are a 1/2 bath and a 3/4 bath (shower only). The upstairs has 4 bedrooms and one full bathroom at the end of the hallway. The largest bedroom had plenty of floor space and we setup a twin air mattress for a small child to sleep on (all the other rooms were in use already). We had an amazing time and if we need a place with 4 bedrooms in the Mystic area we will be renting here again! We were mildly disappointed that this place didn't have a grill for outdoors but otherwise this home was a complete and total success.
One potential concern for renters: The banister on the upstairs landing was low. It came to mid thigh on me and I'm only 5' 3". It might be a concern if someone in the group is unsteady on their feet. You must walk across this landing to get to the upstairs bathroom.
The totally New England "feel" of this house made our trip. The moment we stepped into it, we knew we'd hit the jackpot. Spacious and meticulously kept the rooms were decorated with wonderful antiques along with modern amenities. The place was simply adorable! Only two & a half blocks from downtown Mystic, it was an easy walk to shops, restaurants and The Harp & Hound. I doubt you could find a more perfect place for your New England vacation. We just got home & our family is already wanting to return!
We came to Mystic mid-May, for a 35 year Navy Sub reunion and choose the darling house. It was absolutley the best! We really appreciate all the information the propriters had put together, so that we could enjoy all the beauty of the area. On a scale of One to Ten, this is a Fifteen! It is a very easy walk to Old Mystic, with wonderful shopping, pubs, and resturants. Just a walk to the river and looking at the boats is an enjoyable stroll. The house and all its amendies, was spotless and very comfortable. I would recommend this home for people who love charm, history, fine dinning, and architectur. And, if you have time, check out the library. The area is a "shutter bugs" dream
