New Updates - 1.) We replaced the water softener and added a reverse osmosis system. Now the drinking water is very good and there is a working ice maker in the freezer. 2.) We replaced the lower patio in the back and now have a convenient built in firepit to enjoy. 3.) We replaced the furnace - although you won't need that in the summer.

We fell in love with Leelanau Peninsula a few years ago so we finally purchased our cottage. We enjoy the many beaches that are nearby, walking the trails, enjoying the seasons and the wineries.
The Owner purchased this house in 2010
Northport is away from the more populated resort towns on the peninsula, yet nearby enough to enjoy everything Leelanau Peninsula has to offer.
I walked out onto the deck on Sunday morning, a deer stopped in the woods and looked my way then continued its walk. When it got to the road it looked both ways and trotted down the road. Beaches easy to walk to and access. Great hiking trail just a couple blocks away at the end of the road.
Our stay at Bay Breeze was awesome. Beautiful home which was clean and ready for our arrival. The quiet neighborhood was a perfect place to walk, run and ride bikes. The owners had multiple bikes in the garage for our use and we enjoyed biking the neighborhood in the evenings. Beach was a short walk and the sand was beautiful. Owners left lots of notes answering any questions we might have. Would highly recommend this rental.
Our family of 3 and another family of 3 shared this clean and spacious home for a week long summer vacation. We enjoyed having breakfast on the back deck and grilling dinner for a few of the meals. Linda, the owner was very prompt at answering any and all of my questions prior to our visit. The pictures accurately show the house. We truly enjoyed our stay at Bay Breeze, however it was a long drive when we were returning back at night since it is just that far North. We appreciated all the extras they supplied for our week stay, from the toilet paper, paper towels, spices for cooking, bikes, pots and pans, ping pong table, etc. We enjoyed going to the Farmer's Market in Northport and spent one of the days at Christmas Cove beach, which is not a far drive from the home. All though we would like to be at a place closer to Glen Arbor and the Sleeping Bear Dunes, we would definitely consider staying at Bay Breeze again and I would recommend it to anyone else interested in staying in the area.
We had a wonderful time at Bay Breeze. After many hours searching for a last minute vacation, we were lucky to find this lovely clean home. We enjoyed all the wildlife (woodpeckers, fox, deer, and even a skunk!) The south beach was nice for laying out and rock hunting. The bikes were great to have, and our children challenged us to ping-pong every night. The back porch was great to have breakfast in the morning and relax and read. Thanks Linda for letting us share your vacation home!
The kitchen is large and well furnished, great master bedroom with a comfortable king bed and private bath with spa tub. Very clean and spacious and close to the community beach. We would definitely rent this home again!
Bay Breeze was very comfortable. Picture & description on VRBO was accurate, owners answered all questions promplty. Property was neat, clean, quite, beautiful & easily accomodated our needs for our family. Neighbors were very nice. Would highly recommend this property to other people who wish to stay in the area.
The cottage is really a very nice, clean home with lots of space and a beautiful kitchen. Although not directly on the water, it is part of an association with four parks very nearby that are on Lake Michigan. The beach and walking out into the water is a little rocky; I would suggest water shoes. We did not check out the most southern park beach and maybe it is different there. We rented the home thinking we might have more family coming (there were only three of us), and the property could have easily accomodated more people,
We brought a fishing boat with us and fished Lake Leelanau almost daily. There are several inland lakes with public access in the county, and of course for those with bigger boats many marinas and access points to Lake Michigan as well. We also did some biking and hiking, and enjoyed the wildlife and the beautiful country. We caught the tail end of a Friday night concert in the park with professional musicians while our son fished at the marina in Northport. If this had been an adults only vacation, we would have taken advantage of some of the wine tasting rooms. We found the owners to be informative and helpful, and the home a very comfortable place to stay. We would definitely rent here again.
