Guestbook comments from the owner

We love Marco Island and have visited before but stayed in another home. This home was way beyond our expectations. It was class from top to bottom and had everything you could ever hope for. The pool was probably our favourite thing but the kitchen was a close second. We loved being able to look out the back and see the gorgeous sunset every night. It is the perfect location. I can't say enough good things about this home and we will absolutely be staying there again on our next visit!

Beautiful property in lovely location

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful property in a wonderful west facing waterfront location. The property has been equipped to the fullest and highest standard by the owners and offers every conceivable amenity. The location is quiet yet handy for all amenities, including the beaches, shops and the nearby excellent park. The swimming pool is stunning, as are the evening sunsets over the pool and canals beyond. We would highly recommend this property and hope to return ourselves at some future point.

FANTASTIC home! Simply perfect! Beautiful home!

  • 5 of 5

What a gem this property is.....we almost don't want to let the news escape that that this property is everything as described and more. We've rented other homes throughout FL and this one topped/exceeded our expectations without a doubt. We will definitely be back!

Obviously, the pool is a fantastic feature. We were in it as often as possible! The layout of the house is ideal; lots of space with very comfortable furnishings. We immediately felt right at home. The glass sliders in the living room/kitchen area are beautiful. There's nothing like sitting inside & watching thunderstorms late at night (& dolphins in the morning!) or enjoying the sun w/o being out in the heat. The kitchen is a gourmet cook's dream. Loved the expansive countertops; lots of room to spread out! We used the BBQ practically every night. Honestly, we can't think of 1 thing we wished we had and didn't. Jim & Ann really nailed it with everything they provide (beach towels, bikes, swim noodles, beach chairs, cookware, books, etc. -- even a workout area!).

For those with kids, we HIGHLY recommend the Community Center & library 2 blocks away. What great city resources!! We walked there practically every day (right past the sweet owls and their protected habitats). Working with the property management company was pleasant and easy. Really, we can't express how wonderful our experience was on the Island. It was a really wonderful vacation!!! Thank you for allowing us to share your beautiful home! Rob & Suzie, Petaluma, CA

Wonderful home in relaxing Marco Island.

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week here with our family at the beginning of June 2014. The house was a perfect fit for us and our two adult daughters (+ 1 boyfriend). Pool time was wonderful with the outdoor stereo system. Well equipped kitchen with wonderful patio grill kept us fed most of the week. Great places on the island to dine and enjoy drinks as well. Nearby Mackel Park is a nice place to walk around the .6 mile paved path. Nicely decorated place makes for an enjoyable week in South Florida.

Amazing luxury home

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough about this home it is absolutely gorgeous. We rented the house from 7/31 to 8/7/11 we had great weather and a wonderful time. The house is beautiful inside and out but the highlight is definitely the pool and hot tub. We loved that the pool was not screened in so much prettier that way. We saw a few dolphins while swimming and many gorgeous sunsets while in hot tub or screened in lanai. The electronic screen for the lanai is a great touch as was the surround sound throughout the house. Our teenagers were dissapointed that both bikes in garage were flat and could not find a pump for tires or pool floats but that was really the only dissapointment of the week. The housecleaners did a wonderful job the house was spotless upon our arrival. Renting a boat and waverunners on the island are a definite must so much fun and so many dolphins in the water. I'm so glad we chose your house to rent and would defintely reccomend to friends and family, can't wait to come back again.

We've just spent two weeks at the villa and it was really fantastic. We went for a special birthday and there were five of us - mum, dad, daughter, son and girlfriend. Everyone loved it and our favourite pastime was floating around the pool watching for dolphins. We saw several but I'm sure there must have been more that we didn't spot.

We never really found a good place to eat on Marco Island - we were disappointed with the Snook Inn, went to The Islander and it was a dead loss with noone else there, awful food and the singer out of key! We went to CJs on the Bay for the special birthday but it was closed for a Firefighers' night out! Our favourite meals were in Naples at Outback and the Olive Garden.

We went on the Marco Island Princess cruise - the first time it was cancelled because of lack of bookings and the second time there were only about 9 of us onboard. it was OK but we didn't see any wildlife at all. We did an Everglades airboat ride (Captain Doug's) which was scary but fun but actually saw only 3 alligators and no manatees, raccoons, or anything else.

The beach was just too hot without shade and unfortunately there was no parasol or gazebo in the house. We were disappointed with Tigertail beach and so went along to South Beach but only lasted about half an hour with no shade and the sea 87 degrees, and had to go back to the lovely pool. The heat index was over 100 when we were there but we were impressed with the lack of storms - they always seemed to surround us but pass us by!

I had planned to cycle a bit but unfortunately the lady's bike had a flat tyre when we arrived and after trying the man's bike I couldn't manage the crossbar and gave up. I walked around Mackel Park which was nice but too hot, even at 8 am!

We liked the fact there was no screen over the pool - we had a lot of bugs, frogs, lizards, crickets, etc but that made it even more interesting. We have stayed in houses with screens but with the infinity pool it was much better without one. We loved sitting in the hot tub watching the sun set with a glass of wine.

We loved Marco Island and the relaxed atmosphere. We liked the fact that everything was within 15 minutes' drive and it was very quiet although some of the shops and restaurants were closed for the summer. We have stayed in Cape Coral in the past and had the use of a boat for two weeks which would have been nice.

Overall a fantastic holiday and hope to come again.

Owner's Response: Hi and thanks so much for leaving us comments on your stay. Glad you enjoyed our home. There are MANY great restaurants on the island and I'm sure you will hit on a few of them. We have our own "pick list" which I'd be happy to share with you should you return to Marco. We had a home on Marco with a screen cover over the pool. We decided not to on our new home as we prefer the open sky. However, the large lanai does completely screen in should you wish by the touch of a button. An electronic screen system takes care of that very simply. Hopefully you used this during your stay if needed. Thanks again for your kind comments and we hope to have you stay at our home again, Jim and Ann Mardis

Awesome place

Stayed in this beautiful villa for 10 days in June 2011. It is absolutely amazing, the inside of the villa is cool and spacious with a lovely kitchen and nice size bedrooms, but it is outside that really blew us away. Swimming in the endless pool and eating in the lanai with that gorgeous view will be hard to beat anywhere in the world. We spotted a few dolphins and even a manatee one day whilst in the pool. My son caught cat fish off the dock most days. The villa is within easy reach of all Marco Island has to offer including Tigertail beach and The Snook Inn (both highly recommended). I would certainly return to this property in the future - Marco Island is a wonderful place to relax and we will always have very happy memories of our time spent there.
