Welcoming and interesting apartment in the characteristic Monti district. The Cicero apartment is complete and especially charming. It is on the second floor, no elevator.
In the heart of the Monti district, you`ll discover a wonderful part of Rome. It is characteristically Roman, one of the most ancient neighborhoods in the city. History echoes with views of the Coliseum, the Roman Forum just a few minutes by foot. Monti has gentrified over the last decade so there is a wealth of restaurants, beautiful shops with fine items of all kinds.
The building is located on a limited traffic street in Monti. There is local traffic. Directly across the street is a cafe with great cappuccinos.
The apartment is on the second floor (North American designation) and there is no elevator, you will need to climb only one flight of stairs. You enter the apartment into the living room which is spacious and features the original wood beams in the high ceiling. The room is internal so glass bricks above the doors of the external rooms bring in natural light. There are a number of lamps for adequate lighting. There are several very nice piece of antique furniture from France. In a niche on the wall is a Roman statue of the great Roman politician and philosopher Cicero. Quality paintings adorn the walls.
In the living room is a television with DVD player (European standard). No satellite reception, so Italian shows only. There is also a CD player.
The dining table is set against a partial wall that separates the small, well-equipped kitchen. The kitchen has a 4 burner gas stove top, sink, small refrigerator, toaster, microwave, Italian and American drip-style coffee makers. Next to the kitchen are handy cupboards.
The master bedroom is very large and has a queen sized bed that can be split into two singles and a cozy, well-lit reading area. A large antique armoire has plenty of room for clothing. Large sound canceling windows ensure it is quiet for sleeping.
The second bedroom with a single day bed doubles as a study. There is an armoire for your clothing.
Across the living room from the bedrooms is the bathroom that has a shower over tub. An alcove has a window that overlooks the inner courtyard. In the alcove is the washing machine.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2012
Excellent location, everything is walkable, very affordable for such a prime location.
Wonderful foodie Roman neighborhood.
The Novello apartment is in the fashionable Monti neighborhood, which is a fantastic location for a trip to Rome. The short walk to the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Forum allowed us to soak in those magical places multiple times. The apartment is right down the block from the Cavour metro station, making use of public transit very easy. The neighborhood is fun and comfortable, with great restaurants and pedestrian life. I cannot think of a better location to stay in Rome. Italy Perfect was extremely helpful and professional throughout the booking and pre-travel process. If you are arriving early in the day and want to shower and unpack before the evening, you will need to factor in the cost of checking in the night before. Italy Perfect makes this clear once you start the booking process, but it is good to know as you are reviewing apartment options from the very start. We truly appreciated the wonderful recommendation for a private car from the Fiumicino airport, which made our arrival easy and relaxed. Consuelo, our greeter, was very helpful and professional, setting the tone for a special stay. The apartment is on the top floor of a charming building, with a terrific patio. The apartment is remarkably quiet given the hustle and bustle below, and we could not hear any other units within the building. The bedroom is completely open to the kitchenette, but the living room has a door and can be used without disturbing anyone who is asleep. The apartment was very chilly in November, but there is an effective albeit bulky space heater. The bathroom is cramped by U.S. standards, but the living room is comfortable with good sitting options.
My husband and I stayed a week in this apartment (late September/early October) and it was truly fantastic. The neighborhood ended up being our favorite in Rome. Great restaurants, walking distance to everything, etc. It was maybe larger than what we needed; we never used the living room, but the terrace was amazing and we spent most of our apartment time out there. A couple of things to be aware of are that there are a lot of stairs going up and the shower is very, very small. These things were not a problem for us because we're used to that type of thing coming from SF, but this may be an issue for others. Also, if you plan on doing laundry, don't wait until your last day because the washing machine only washes a couple of items at a time and each load takes at least an hour (no dryer either). Anyhow, overall the apartment was great: clean, quiet, spacious, great location, amazing terrace, etc. Highly recommended.
Loved the apartment and it's convenient location in the Monti district. All the major tourist sites are within easy walking distance. The apartment was clean and well equipped. This apartment is on the forth floor and may not be suitable for some since there is no elevator. My only suggestion for improvement would be to provide two lounge chairs for the rooftop patio which is a very large and pleasant space to spend your mornings and early evenings.
We enjoyed our stay at the Novello apartment and in particular the charming Monti area. Many good restaurants! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
We have visited Rome many times but had never stayed in the Monti area before. It is a really wonderful area and we were very happy with the apartment. It met our needs perfectly for bright, well located apartment. We plan to return again in the summer to enjoy the terrace. Be sure to try Urbana 47, delicious food. And also the Cavour 313 wine bar, very special. Thank you for a very nice stay.
We are frequent Rome visitors and love the Monti area. The Novello apartment was perfect for us. Super location, very light and comfy. Thank you as well for all the helpful information and responsiveness from Lisa at Italy Perfect.
Our stay at the Novello apartment was just what we had hoped for. We felt that the price was good for the great location and nice terrace. Could not have been better located. Lisa from Italy Perfect and greeter were very good to work with. This is a good, basic apartment at a very good price. We almost hope others don't catch on since it's a good deal for the price. Thank you!
