Whether it’s seeing the First Tracks of elk or moose during the summer months or catching your own First Tracks on the slopes at Bridger Bowl Ski Resort, First Tracks Cabin is a Montana adventure. The cabin is situated over a mile high in the Rocky Mountains and nestled within the pines and willows along Brackett Creek. In the Fall, Spring and Summer, experience the hundreds of species of wildflowers while Hiking in the Bridger or Mountain Biking for 30 plus miles through the Bangtail Ranges. All from the First Tracks Cabin or a short 2.8 mile drive or bicycle to the Bridgers. Photograph the mating dances of Sandhill Cranes, Northern Geese, Red-tail Hawks or Bald Eagles. Catch shots of Deer, Moose. or Elk making their way around the property or listen to the howls of the coyotes or wolves from the front porch. Catch and release fishing is 15 yards from the cabin or drive or hike to nearby high country lakes. Return to First Tracks Cabin and have a pool game, watch wide screen TV or read a book on the decks, porch or creekside.

Love to downhill ski? The entrance to Bridger Bowl is only 5 miles from First Tracks allowing you to arrive on the slopes well before the crowds. Want cross-country or skate skiing on groomed trails, then Bohart Cross-Country Ski Ranch is only 4 1/2 miles away. Or if you enjoy the privacy of skiing or snowshoeing in the Montana mountains just walk out First Tracks' cabin or travel 5 minutes to world class skiing in the Bridger or Bangtail Mountain ranges. If snowmobiling is your forte, you can leave from First Tracks' driveway, head East 1 mile and go for 30 plus miles through Forest Service land. The North and West entrances to Yellowstone Park are only 1 1/2 hours away.

Vacation time in the Rocky Mountain is a wonderland of sights and adventure no matter what the season.

Area Activities: Travel 25 miles to the Yellowstone River for Blue Ribbon trout fishing, sight seeing, float trips or driving tours. Travel a little further for white water rafting on the Gallatin River or the Blue Ribbon waters of the Madison River. Bozeman is only 23 miles away with its Museum of the Rockies, local live theaters, orchestra productions, operas, ballets, beer breweries, hot springs, rodeos and excellent restaurants. A three day annual event the first week of August is the Sweet Pea Festival that incorporates music, dance, theater, and an arts and crafts fair. Twice a week visit the spectacular Farmer's Markets and the twice weekly outdoor music festivals. All area towns have their own County Fairs and Rodeos over the summer months.

The cabin was fantastic. Very convenient to Bridger Bowl and Bozeman. The extra provided were a nice touch. The ownets were very helpful and accommodating. Ee cannot wait to come back!

Cozy Winter Stay

This cabin was exactly what we were looking for to have a romantic long winter weekend away from town. It has been used enough to have even the smallest amenities well thought out, and the location was ideally suited for our tastes. A little piece of heaven..

What a beautiful cabin for are 10 year anniversary. This cabin is tucked away, and we'll always remember it as are little piece of heaven. We couldn't of asked for more. This cabin has everything you need for a quiet comfortable getaway. We enjoyed just sitting by the fire. Couldn't get my husband away from it (thanks for the extra fire wood:) My only complaint is that are week was over and it was time to leave. We've made memories we'll never forget and can reflect on for many more anniversaries to come, and for that we're truly thankful.

Thanksgiving in the mountains!

We will always remember our Thanksgiving at First Tracks! First Tracks Cabin is the perfect place for anyone looking to escape the stress of the city and enjoy the peace and quiet in unbelievable surroundings. From the sound of the creek flowing through the property, viewing the mountains off the back deck, having deer walk through the property, and hearing the elk bugle each morning and night, we fell in love immediately! We've stayed at quite a few different properties over the years and First Tracks is by far one of the most meticulously maintained and cared for properties that we've seen. The fireplace is fantastic, the kitchen has everything you need for cooking and the pool table provided many hours of entertainment. We found First Tracks conveniently located for day trips to Yellowstone Park ,Big Sky and Virginia City. Even in late November we found several nearby hikes that were magnificent. A big thanks to Marta for making sure everything was perfect for our stay! We will be back!!
