Coastal Heaven

  • 5 of 5

You can believe every review of this place. We arrived late at night and were met with a spectacularly lit view of the crashing waves. Big picture windows line the back of the house where you look out to the beach and rocks. In the morning, we sat out on the deck, drank our coffee and enjoyed watching the waves and yes, Fred and Wilma, the resident sea gulls. The owners have thought of everything to make this home a delightful stay. The kitchen has everything you need, the beds were very comfy and everything is immaculately clean. For in-home entertainment, we found oodles of games and puzzles as well as a nice collection of movies and books. The decor is well thought out and you really feel like you're staying at a friend's home. We spent time hiking the trails at Cape Perpetua, eating at several eateries in town (a few minutes walk from the house), and visiting tide pools. The locals in town were so friendly and helpful and most of all, the owners were lovely and very easy to work with. Honestly, I didn't want to leave and hope that we can return sometime in the near future.

Amazing View

Believe every review you read about this house. It's truly a coastal gem. We arrived late at night and when we walked in the door, we were met with a spectacularly lit view of the backyard and dramatic waves splashing over the rocks. The house is so cozy and immaculately clean. The owners have thought of everything you'll ever need. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, the beds were very comfortable. I love the lounge chairs in the living room that overlook the beach, rocks and waves. My husband and daughter spent a lot of time in those chairs. Everything is decorated in such a way that you feel right at home. Lots of puzzles and games for entertainment. We spent a lot of time walking the rocks and beach right outside our back door. The walk into town was just minutes away where we visited several restaurants and cafes. The locals were so lovely and helpful. Honestly, I didn't want to leave. What a joy it was to spend time in this lovely home and friendly coastal town.

My parents, my husband and I love this place!! The view is mesmerizing. We couldn't believe it when we opened the door and took our first look at the surf crashing just feet from the window. The kitchen ware is stock to the hilt. The beds are comfy and the place is clean. Easy walk to the grocery store and restaurants. Be sure to walk the 804 trial that takes you right on the oceans edge for more fantastic views. We will return!

I hesitate to write a review of this home because it is the sort of place you want to keep as your secret. We are just two long time women friends who wanted a few quiet relaxing days together enjoying the ocean before the holiday flurry of activities. This was everything we wanted and more. The home just feels like your home, cozy and comfortable, modern and immaculately clean, and with everything one would need (and the beds are great). Turn on the gas fireplace, grab your favorite beverage and then take a seat in front of a bank of windows that extend across the entire ocean side of the home for the most beautiful ever changing spectacle of glorious surf in a cove so close one could toss a rock in from the deck. We had stormy surf, calm surf, tides in and tides out, rain and then rainbows, and blue skies. There is a wonderfully powerful spot light that one can turn on to illuminate the surf even at night, and we also watched the lights of crab boats out at sea. During the day Fred and Wilma, the resident seagull pair, kept us entertained with their antics, as well as seals playing and swimming by on their way south. We even had a deer jump up from the beach onto the grass one evening. Have always loved this area of the Oregon coast. Yachats remains small and very quiet, a few little shops, a grocery store, a couple of good restaurants, etc. Of course one can take a short drive north or south for sightseeing or shopping in larger towns if that is what you desire. But if you just want to relax and enjoy the surf in a comfy cozy home by the sea then this is the place. But ssshh, don't tell anyone else, it will just be our secret.

Paradise to chill out.

  • 5 of 5

Yachats has kept it's charming village atmosphere. Our rental was wonderful. The views were magnificent as pictured. The house was wonderfully equipped, just like home. It was situated a short walk from town. Great restaurants to choose from. A bonus was the Sunday farmers market, with lots of products locally. The views along the coast are breath taking, and fun to explore. This is a place that is friendly even if you are only there for a visit. We have already booked for next July.

What a house, what a view!

  • 5 of 5

I wanted to show my wife a taste the PNW and this house delivered. About a 3 hour drive from Portland and right in the middle of the coast for trips both north and south, this house and Yachats charmed. Upon arrival the beach house was immaculate and the owners had a bottle of wine waiting for us. Every amenity you would need for a long stay is included in the house, and it is very private. A wall of windows greats you to the west and you can spend a day just watching the ever changing cove go from calm waves to crashing surf 25 feet high right in front of your secluded view of the Pacific, harbor seals, whales, and seabirds, then cozy up to the fireplace and play some board games, open the windows at night and fall a sleep to the surf. Walk down the beach north or south to great views, or walk 10 minutes to town and eat a fantastic dinner at Heidi's. Perfect house and perfect week - we will be back!
