Oregon’s outdoor recreational amenities are just minutes away from this spectacular vacation home and retreat in the Diamond Peaks resort area located 1.5 mi. of Crescent Lake, OR. Enjoy a true mountain experience surrounded by national forest and wilderness areas open for hiking, mountain biking, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross county skiing, or fishing and water sports at numerous lakes. A 10-minute drive gets you to the Willamette Pass Resort for downhill skiing and snowboarding, day or night, and sledding in the winter, and gondola rides and mountain biking in the summer. (During the winter snow season, the roads are plowed for easy access.)

This is the perfect place to spend with family and friends, or to experience a quiet romantic get-away (see reviews). Enjoy beautiful mountain views and bird-watching while sitting in front of a cozy fire or sunning on the deck. A selection of books, video/DVD movies, and games are available, including a Sony Playstation and video games. DirectTV Satellite offers more than 200 channels. The cabin also provides free Wi-Fi Internet access. The cabin was built in 2006 and features vaulted ceilings, a great-room, and well-appointed furnishings to reflect the Oregon outdoors.

The cabin also features three bedrooms, and a loft, and 3 full baths, and accommodates up to 7 guests in beds. (Discount available when only renting the cabin). A detached 300 sq. ft. bonus room is above the garage and includes a king bed, futon couch (dbl bed), 1 twin, that sleeps up to four guests in beds. (See below for specific amenities).

At nearly 5000 feet, the cabin at Diamond Peaks Resort is near Crescent Lake and Odell Lake, each renowned for their fishing, and each only a few miles away. Anglers will find Kokanee, Mackinaw, German Browns and Rainbows. Large-mouth bass can easily be caught at nearby Davis Lake, only a 20-minute drive from the cabin. Fishing guides are available at the lake lodges, as well as gear and boat rentals. As the weather warms, the lakes are perfect for picnicking on the sandy beaches of Crescent Lake, or for enjoying a scenic hike along the shore of scenic Odell Lake. The Pacific Crest Trail and other National Forest hiking trails are within 10-minutes of the cabin. Within an hour’s drive, you can enjoy Sunriver Resort (golfing, biking, canoeing/kayaking, shopping), Mt. Bachelor (world class slopes for skiing and snowboarding), the city of Bend (shopping) for more recreational fun, Diamond Lake and Crater Lake National Park.

The Oregon Cascades is a true gem. Snowmobiling, snowshoeing, downhill and cross-country skiing are terrific with access to National Forest Trails and both Willamette Pass Ski Resort and Mt. Bachelor. Roads are plowed in the winter for safe travel, and spring, summer, and fall, are picture-perfect for visiting Central Oregon’s beautiful lakes for hiking and fishing. The Pacific Crest Trail is only minutes away and offers hikes through beautiful forests and to nearby lakes. Crater Lake National Park and Diamond Lake are only an hour away, and there are about 10 lakes within a 10-mile radius. It’s the perfect getaway anytime of the year.

What makes this house unique

We often invite friends and family to spend time at the cabin. It works well for both large and small groups, as the open floor plan offers plenty of space for everyone. When it's just the two of us, the cabin serves as a cozy romantic getaway from urban life. While at the cabin, it's always nice to return from a fun day recreating outdoors to a cozy fire, a glass of wine, and good company.

I couldn't possibly tell you in words what a marvelous time we had. Everything was perfect! I love to cook and the kitchen was so well stocked with every dish and utensil that I'm accustomed to using at home.... even the Ninja Turtle magnets where a reminder of our favorite Saturday cartoons and movies. Seriously my oldest asked if I had brought them lol.

Wonderful location for skiing, snowmobiling, sledding, and relaxing!!

Our family of 5 adults and 2 kids had a blast at Bummy's place. We stayed in the main house only (not the extra room above the garage) and had plenty of room (adult couple + single adult in the 2 bedrooms downstairs and family of 4 upstairs in the loft and bedroom). We skied at Willamette Pass, snowmobiled at Crescent Lake (they have reasonably priced rentals), and sledded right in our own front yard! We cooked all of our meals at home, and the kitchen was well stocked--even beyond what is listed here! We enjoyed the personal touches of the cabin and Carrie's excellent customer service. Would love to return!!

Perfect place for a family Thanksgiving

A perfect place for a family Thanksgiving celebration. The cabin is beautiful, well-appointed, and full of things to do -- sleds, snowshoes, music, movies, books, games, and puzzles galore. We had perfect snow, a well-stocked kitchen, and beauty all around us. The sunsets are spectacular from the cabin. The fireplace is cozy, the upstairs loft a perfect place for the kids to play. We hope to make Bummy's Place our Thanksgiving tradition!
