10/10 Excellent

It's a picture perfect Spring setting at this gorgeous Gambrel cabin in the mountains
Wow! What a gorgeous mountain home in Big bear lake amidst the serenity of pine trees. We enjoyed strolling along the quiet streets of Moonridge and hiking up and down the trails. It was an ideal girls outing as all 8 of us had our own beds and the 2 full bathrooms with showers were a great help for this size of a group. The 2 storey floor plan worked well as some of us played bingo on the lower level whilst others rested upstairs. The cabin is beautifully decorated and in immaculate condition. Look forward to a blissful summer again at this well maintained home. .

Ideal Spring Break Vacation at this cozy family home
This is a great home for tourists without a car as it is centrally located in Moonridge. We walked to the nearby restaurants, pharmacy, grocery store and biked around town. The kids had fun playing in the background and we enjoyed barbeque's galore. This cozy cabin was warm with the fireplace and we highly recommend it to our friends & relatives. The Owner was very helpful with neighborhood tips so we didn't have to pack a lot for the entire week stay as everything is available just around the corner. The cabin was regularly cleaned by Management staff during our 1 wk stay which gave us more time to explore Big bear and enjoy quiet family time.!

Woodsy cabin with great amenities in the mountains
I had a fabulous time at this Gambrel style house, fully furnished & equipped with a gourmet kitchen. My wife enjoyed preparing home made meals and kids loved the fenced backyard for snow play. The bright & open floor plan helped our teenage kids to enjoy their privacy with their friends whilst we relaxed with wine on the lower level amidst the romantic fireplace. There were enough beds for all 8 of us and the cabin was warm & cozy at night. Ideal for multiple families and kids.

Romantic Getaway at a cozy cabin with fenced backyard
My family and in-laws enjoyed our stay in Big bear whilst celebrating our 10th anniversary. The 2 storey house with its roomy floor plan was ideal for our 2 families of 8 as we had our privacy sharing this joyous occasion with our family members. We did barbeques in the snowy backyard and the gourmet kitchen had it all. We cherished our walks to Bear Mountain Ski Resort thru the golf course and took the Free shuttle on our return. The owner was very helpful with shopping & recreational tips.

2/10 Terrible

Cramped quarters, poor heating, cold showers, far from ski slopes, gross misrepresentation
We stayed here from 3/18-3/20/2011 and did not have a good experience in this house, which was basically an over-sized barn with beds. I thought with the great reviews that it was a good/cheap last minute option for a ski trip. The owner rented to us at the regular-season rate so I thought it was a good price too. However, I realized that all prior reviews were posted by the owner, on the same date too! BE WARNED, owner severely misrepresents the distance to the resorts. It is a 1.2 mile uphill "walk" to Big Bear and and 1.0 mile walk to Snow Summit (check on Google maps from the Elm & Moodridge area). There is literally no heating upstairs in the bedrooms, not to mention the bedrooms smelled terrible, leaving a pungent odor on our clothes. Showering was miserable since the water heater took 1-2 hrs to reheat. Also you can fit 9 people here only by pulling out 2 couches in the approx. 300 sq ft living room, (not sure how that's even possible). Lastly, the 30+ year old dryer unit malfunctions and it tore my jacket and ski hat without drying any of it. I informed the owner and she refused to take responsibility (or even say sorry). First she told me me I may have overloaded it (I washed a jacket, 4 gloves, socks and a hat), then she indicated it was probably my jacket's fault. Avoid the headache and look somewhere else for a place to stay if you want to go to Big Bear.
