EXPANSIVE PRIVATE ESTATE, ON 15 ACRES - VIEWS FOR 100 MILES

My husband, daughter, son-in-law, three grandchildren, and I spent a fabulous week in this spacious and attractive home in July 2012. The views from every side of the home are private and spectacular. Glancing in one direction, the dramatic roofline of the Santa Fe Opera emerges. Looking across the desert valley on another side, the variations of light and weather are awesome and serene. This home feels remote, yet it is actually very close to Santa Fe.
The layout of the house is comfortable, allowing different family groups privacy and yet offering a choice of several common living areas for gathering. We read and used our ipads in the living room; we watched TV one night in the den; we ate breakfast in the kitchen eating area; we played games on the dining room table; but we spent most of our time on the covered deck and the wrap-around patios.
Our granddaughters (11,11, and 13) enjoyed daily short hikes on the hills around the house.
This was our second visit to this home, and we all hope to return again.

We had 4 couples stay for 3 nights. Immediately after arriving, every single person went on for an hour about how great the place was. We just couldn't believe it. We all ran from room to room to deck to deck. The place is so roomy and airy with decks all around. The house is quite isolated and feels very private. There are a number of trails in all different directions that are enjoyable, though they are a bit steep.
Each bedroom is unique and roomy. There are 2 decks and a large patio, each facing a different direction, which is perfect for adjusting to sun position. One of the decks is covered for even more flexibility.
There are many living rooms. We found ourselves constantly changing locations where we wanted to hang out. And with the size of the place, we had all the little private parties that we wanted. When you got tired of hanging out where you were, you could go see who was in this room or that deck, and hang out there for a while.
I would highly recommend this house for any kind of reunion. While it is a bit off the beaten path, it is well worth the 20 minute drive from Santa Fe.
