'Leopold Cove' is a beautiful Oceanfront Home located on the Central Coast of California. It has fabulous ocean views and access to the water from a private stairway. The living area has large plate glass windows that feature 180 degree views of the Pacific Ocean. A comfortable platform style bed & a warm, cozy fireplace are also located in the living area so you can relax for hours, or even days, enjoying the beauty that surrounds you. There is a full kitchen & a separate bedroom with 2 twin beds. The property also has a picnic area & places to sit, perhaps with a good book & a glass of wine while you watch the sunset. If you are a nature lover, you will enjoy the otters, seals & birdlife that we are privileged to have so close to us. During the gray whale migration times, this is a perfect spot to view these magnificent creatures.
You will have access to many Central Coast attractions from Cambria. Cambria itself is a charming village that features galleries, shops, a playhouse, local music and a variety of dining options, as well as a beautiful environment. Big Sur and Hearst Castle are to the north and the Wine vineyards are to the East. There is a city airport and train station in San Luis Obispo.I hope you will visit soon.
This was truly a wonderful respite. The little house by the sea is magical. Every aspect of our stay here was perfect. Andrea & Tony, Long Beach Ca.
We couldn't have asked for a more amazing house to vacation in. It was wonderful falling asleep to the sound of the ocean--we cant't wait to come back. Kris & Brian

We loved everything about this incredible home. It's uniqueness, location..total vibe! This was a most magnificent getaway. And...we also were thrilled with the sincere attention to our stay as provided by the house manager. All we can say is....we'll be back!!!
My husband and I love Cambria in the fall, so, we decided to try something new and rent a house. We found this little house so sweet and charming. It really has all you need for a short stay. There are a few quirky things that may limit some people. The side of the house is glass so the neighbors can easily look and see you in the shower or the living room. We don't care about that but some may. Yes, there is a ladder to the shower but once in it, it's fantastic. The showerhead is far above and comes down like a waterfall, very nice. The little bed in the living room is so comfortable with perhaps the best bedding I've ever seen. We travel a lot and splurge on luxury so this is saying a lot. We couldn't sleep in there because it was too small for us and the ocean was so close and loud we couldn't sleep! The bedroom has 2 single beds that are super comfortable with that amazing bedding so we slept in there. That room is sound-proof. Couldn't hear the ocean at all in there - but it sure is wonderful listening to it during the day. We had an absolutely gorgeous sunset one of the days we were there. There are also small heating units throughout the house that work super fast if it's a chilly night - there's even one in the bath. There's also a washer/dryer in the bath. I love that. The only thing missing in my opinion was a hot tub outside!
My husband and I just completed a six night stay and loved hearing the waves day and night. It was great to see the ocean so close to the house all the time. To wake up and see the ocean right from the bed was a treat! The house is very unique and we enjoyed our time there!

My Wife, her Sisters and yours truly have just completed a four night stay. This is our second stay and, as seniors, we highly recommend this home and location as, at least, a once in a lifetime experience.
The Warren Leopold architectural home design is a unique experience in itself, especially the raised tub/shower. This early October time frame allowed us to sit on the patio, just above the breaking surf, night and day to enjoy the sight, sound and smell of the Pacific Ocean. The brief storms, that quickly passed, gave us some showers and lightening that we watched through the wall of windows from in front of the fireplace. Then we were right back out to the patio. My camera was in my hands most of the time to catch the colorful sunrise's and sunset's as well as the seabirds and beautiful landscape. The surf and tides's were moderate, but on our previous stay, the surf and tides were larger and higher and we even saw and photographed surfer's surfing the large waves in the large kelp bed just off shore. We BBQ'd and ate dinner outside on the covered table as we looked down and through the beautiful side yard at the ocean. Yep....it was another wonderful experience.
If your younger couples, the atmosphere of the home and location is very romantic and perfect for a getaway location. The double bed, located in the living room before the fireplace and looking out at the ocean through a wall of glass, is a wonderful experience to wake up to.
Again, I am recommending this home and Leopold Cove location as a must, on our Bucket List, to stay again.
Picture do not give the house the full idea of just how wonderful it is. As we walked into the house, we shut off the world and enjoyed our honeymoon. The house has everything we needed except for food. The living room has a great view of the sunsets as well as the back patio The front garden area was very nice on the afternoon while cooking on the bbq. The weather was perfect as was the local wines. The town is a short drive away for supplies and botique shopping. If you are looking for a place to get away , a place that was hand built and there are all sorts of details to find, this is it. I highly recommed this to anyone that wants a great house t ostay on the central coast. We cannot wait to be back!
My husband and I stayed in this house for our 5th anniversary and it was just what we needed. We live in the northern LA area with all the hustle and bustle, so this home and how quiet it was suited us just fine. The only sound was the ocean that you could hear from anywhere in the house.
The view/back patio is amazing. We spent hours just watching the waves come in, the seagulls and pelicans, and the sunset - GORGEOUS! You can go down the steps but with all the giant spaghetti like kelp on the beach there were a ton of flies. The ocean was quite active when we were there but I imagine there are more peaceful waves at different times of year. At dusk you see raccoons scoot by and there are tons of birds too. Really the reason we came was the patio to see/hear the ocean. All the wildlife was unexpected and wonderful.
The home itself is quirky and a combination of an older home and a large new addition that is almost all glass and is where you spend 95% of your time. The fireplace warmed the room just perfectly and the sound and sights of the ocean through the floor to ceiling windows made it perfect. If I had one negative it would be the size of the bed. I think it's listed as a queen but it's very small (short and not very wide). My husband and I are both wide shouldered people and we really struggled sleeping comfortably on our backs. For us, we'd fold up the bed next time (it's a Murphy bed) and bring our air mattress. The good thing is the bed is up high so you can see the ocean easily.
The decor of the house is really ecclectic and great. The bathtub is definitely a piece of art. If you are in any way physically handicapped, the bathtub/shower won't work for you as you go up a ladder to get in. A little revealing with the window but very creative use of space. Hubby and I took a wonderful 2 person bath with plenty of room. For showering it's a little more odd and awkward but I definitely won't forget it. :)
The home was a perfect place for my husband and I to enjoy time together, to see Hearst Castle ( just 12 miles down the road), and enjoy the peacefulness of the cove and quaint town of Cambria. I would highly recommend this stay for a couple who wants a romantic getaway. There is a small second bedroom and a large outside space with a place to BBQ for groups but really it was cozy and lovely for just me and my husband.
