A wonderful old 1800's farmhouse remodeled for your comfort with every convenience we could think of, awaits you. You’ll come back again & again whether you rent all or part of this lovely home nestled among large old oak trees on a private hilltop surrounded by the rolling hills between Brenham, Bellville, & Round Top. In the evenings, enjoy amazing sunsets on the back deck after a day of visiting the antique shops. You can barbecue and pack up a picnic to enjoy under the covered pavillion by the spring fed pond. Try to catch one of our large wide-mouthed bass from the pier, or just watch the water ripple as you relax and unwind. Play horseshoes on the lawn or just sit a while & watch the wildlife. If you can tear yourself away from this beautiful property, visit Blue Bell Creamery, the local wineries, go antiquing, shop, dine at one of many local eateries listed in our 'Things To Do' book on the counter of our large, well equipped, country kitchen. You will enjoy cooking on our Wolf range while everyone gathers around the 11ft pine-top island for a chat. Listen to music, play one of many games on hand or just take a bike ride. Think of childhood memories as you swing on the tree swing or in the lovely old double swing out back with the breeze. Three couple plus single spent a weekend in February. Absolutely loved this house. The accomodations were lovely, beautiful grounds and porches for just relaxing. There were so many nice extras with this house, they are hard to name. Breakfast was provided for the first morning, as well as Blue Bell ice cream in the Freezer. You would be hard pressed to want for anything in the well equipped kitchen. The fourth bedroom was upstairs, with lots of beds, so it would be great if there were a bunch of kids. Great place for a family reunion, or just getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

AMAZING!!

We stayed at this beautiful home during the Roundtop Antique Festival. This home was the main attraction. They have everything you can imagine in this home. The kitchen had every gadget you would ever need, the living room had comfy leather couches and a HUGE tv, and the bedrooms were quiet with nice beds. The house is old but completely re-done and super clean. Skip was so nice and provided worms and poles for fishing in the private pond. We do girls weekends a few times a year and I think we found our spot. This house is huge and great for entertaining. We will be back, thanks Skip and Jo!!

our relaxing getaway

I can't stop thinking about how wonderfully relaxing this last weekend was in this fabulous home in Brenham. The owners were so generous with their time and made our stay (there were 5 of us) so easy and peaceful. We slept in wonderfully comfortable beds (3 kings). The vista from the house was gorgeous in all directions. There was a lake to fish in and 70 acres to explore (walking or by bicycle). The grounds are truly amazing with so many beautiful seating areas and NO mosquitos.
We played Scrabble together and watched movies in the living room on their enormous screen.
The owners (Jo and Skip) made us feel so welcome by having fresh eggs and sausage in the refrigerator as well as juice and some Blue Bell ice cream. There was a washer/dryer available to us and a bottle of fine Merlot. The little touches made us feel right at home: fresh towels piled up next to the fabulous deep-soaking tub in the master and a new bar of Dial soap in each bathroom. THere was not a speck of dust in the house!!! It was so clean and beautiful---the pictures on the VRBO website don't do this home justice. In the mornings I could make coffee and not wake up my family because the kitchen is not next to any of the bedrooms.
We can't wait for the next time. It will be like coming home again. I can't recommend this special place highly enough. You'll have ot see it to believe it!

Beautiful Place to Stay!!!!!!!!

OMG!!! The pictures do NOT do this house justice. It is so BEAUTIFUL, All the rooms are so big and they each have a T V in them. The landscape is so pretty, just sitting on the front porch looking out is soo pretty and peaceful with the lights in the trees at night time. Skip and Jo are such nice people to do business with. I would suggest this Beautiful Place to Everyone!!!!!!!! It is VERY VERY clean. I will be coming back, Thank You Sooo Much for sharing your Beautiful Home!!! Cindy Benbrook Texas

Beautiful house, quiet country setting

The house was very nicely furnished and had lots of space for a large group! The owners were very accommodating and felt us feel very welcome and at home. The kitchen is large so several could pitch in and help on the meals, and we really enjoyed eating outside on the porch. There was plenty of seating for us to enjoy the beautiful, quiet countryside.

We only wished we'd had more time to spend there! We hope we'll get to go back there another time!
