Harold Deist is a professional artist who paints in oil with traditional landscapes ranging from the southwest adobe architecture to the surrounding desert and mountains. Other subjects are water and boats, remarkable sunsets, and the animals of the area. He is represented in Denver, CO at Abend Gallery. His paintings reside in countries all over the world. His paintings were chosen by the Iceland Ambassador's residence to show the landscape of the southwest.

Judy is a retired small animal veterinarian and long time photographer that also prefers outdoor subjects. Owners are active outdoor enthusiasts enjoying bicycling, skiing, and horses.

Judy Deist purchased this house in 1970

This was purchased in Summit County for a perfect mountain house next to great fishing in the Dillon Reservoir and the Blue River. Harold's father was a great fly fisherman and loved the outdoors. The house was just was refurbished. We recently took over managing the house since both are now gone, and are converting it to a vacation rental so the family will also be able to use it when not rented, for all outdoor activities such as skiing and bicycling as well as horseback riding.

Full kitchen, well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, spices and other things usually not in rental houses. A king size select comfort bed is in the master bedroom as well as a large flat screen TV.

The living room as a larger TV with HDTV sports stations.

The laundry in also well stocked.

Fantastic! The place was clean and in a convenient location. It's right off I-70 and close to the outlet shops and recreation center, which we both used. Thanks for the passes as one day it was too cold for skiing and hanging out in the pools and hot tubs was just the ticket! The house was well stocked...there are kleenex boxes, toilet paper and towels more than you can count. Plenty of firewood. The kitchen is well stocked with the basics and our German Shepherd appreciated the dog biscuits! We brought her and her crate fit perfectly in the laundry room. The beds (especially the Sleep # bed) were super comfortable and each of our boys was happy they had their own room. Internet was fast and no issues there. Nice to also have cable tv with all the channels (we don't have this at home and hubby was happy to watch the football games on the big screen). Judy and her husband were very accommodating and offered lots of good advice too. This is a PERFECT place to ski A-basin, Keystone and even Breckenridge. We highly recommend!
Owner's Response: We were still cleaning when the family arrived a little early and were very nice. Their dog was a beautiful and well trained German Shepherd. Our main trouble is drying all the large towels in time for the new people. We got it done!

This is a very nice and cozy single family home in a quiet, residential neighborhood that is only a few blocks off of US 6 in Dillon. If you have a car, there is ample driveway and garage space. (If not, then the local shuttle stop is about a block and half away.)

The accommodations were not all that spacious, but each of the 3 bedrooms has a very comfortable queen or king size bed with deluxe bedding, including an adjustable mattress in the master, and good closet space. There is a 3/4 bath accessible to the master BR on the 1st floor and a full bath shared by the other 2 bedrooms on the 2nd floor. The bathrooms were clean and amply supplied with soaps, shampoos, plenty of nice towels and even brand-new, personal loofahs!

The kitchen, though relatively small, was equally well-supplied with deluxe cookware, condiments and other basics. A sturdy table in the dining area easily accommodates 6 or 8 people and can squeeze in more. It worked out great for our party of 5 adults who cooked most of our meals in and also provided an opportunity to share apres-ski activities and holiday festivities with another family.

The living room, though on the small side, was comfortable and quite adequate for a handful of people. It has a nice, wood-burning fireplace and there was plenty of firewood and kindling made available. It also had a GREAT large-screen HDTV set-up with cable TV, DVD player and a Wii gaming system. (There is also another very nice HDTV in the master BR.)

The owner was VERY thorough with operating instructions for everything from alarm system and HVAC to fireplace, dishwasher and laundry - yes, the house has a full-size washing machine and an electric dryer.

Whether you want to cook in and/or stay in at night or explore everything that Dillon and the surrounding area has to offer, this is a great little place to hang your hat in the evening. We "commuted" daily to Keystone, Breckenridge, A Basin and even Vail in all kinds of winter weather. (Cooper Mountain is also 15-20 minutes away.)

This is not a particularly large residence, as all of the individual rooms are relatively small, but overall, it was big enough to comfortably accommodate 5 adults there was also plenty of space for all of our gear. We would definitely consider going back!
Owner's Response: When people want to sleep more than 6, we let them know that the other bed is a sofa couch and could be too crowded. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of dishes for everyone and lots of cookware. With the crock pot or rice cooker, you can start it in the morning and come back to a nice dinner. Glad you had fun.

The owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and convenient. The home is centrally located for all activities in Summit County. Supermarket is close by. We had such a great time that we wished we had booked two weeks instead of just one.

The listing for this property was very accurate. The owner is eager to please and provides all amenities imaginable. This home is perfect for one person or a family and is very pet-friendly, clean, and well-maintained. It is a perfect location for enjoying Lake Dillon, Keystone, and Breckenridge activities all year round. I would totally recommend this property to anyone who is interested in skiing, hiking, biking, boating, fishing, or outlet mall shopping. As a bonus, there was quite a variety of good restaurants nearby. I was very impressed with all of the information offered by the owner (who has great Internet communication) and would definitely book this property again!
Owner's Response: Because of this guest, I now know to mention "baby gates available" to pet owners too. Never thought of it but she found and utilized them for her pets.
