Surrounded by the high Rocky Mountains, there are 6 ski areas within 15 miles of the house. The Summit Stage has free shuttle buses to many towns and ski areas and the bus stop is within 3 blocks of the house.
Skiing in the Rockies is spectacular. Champagne Powder is for the more advanced, with most ski areas having miles of groomed slopes for beginners to advanced. There are six (6) Ski Areas close to the house. The Summit Stage takes guests to Keystone, Breckenridge, Arapahoe Basin, and Copper Mountain. These ski areas are all within 15 miles of the house. Loveland Ski Area is 11 miles back through Eisenhower Tunnel. Vail, Steamboat, Winter Park and other areas are within 1 to 2 hours of the house. Cross country trails are also available as well as downhill skiing. Snowmobile tours and sleigh rides are available. Keystone boasts of KidTopia, a snow and ice playground for kids.
There are full recreation center passes for each registered guest.
Golfing is beautiful and sports several of the best mountain courses are close.

Summertime has biking, hiking, sailing, fishing and shopping. Many miles of paved bike trails are in the area and through the mountains.
There is live theater, and the reservoir boasts the highest yachting club in North America. There is a multiplex cinema within 1 mile.
A newly refinished kitchen is waiting for you with new cabinets, a granite counter top and all. Dishes and pots and pans ready for your guest list of 8. There is a fireplace and BBQ grill. There is a 2 car garage and the driveway is plowed. Room for 1 or 2 more cars in driveway.
In February there is an International Snow Sculpting competition in Breckenridge. In the winter, there is an Ice Castle in Silverthorne that is illuminated with colored lights at night and reaches 40 feet into the air. The castle is built with spraying water at night and the free form ice sculptures are beautiful.
During the summer, the ski lifts can be used to transport mountain bikes to the top to ride down, or just take a sightseeing ride up and down the lifts. Bike, ski, fish, snowmachine, and boating rentals are available in town.
Fishing, biking, hiking, and shopping are all within 5 miles. Fly fishing on Gold Medal streams is within 1 mile and extends north and south for 20 plus miles. Fishing and sailing are available on Dillon and Heeney Reservoirs. Dillon Lake is within 1 mile and Heeney Reservoir is 25 miles north.
Road bike trails abound all around the area as well as mountain biking trails.
Many bike trails are paved from Dillon to the top of Vail pass and beyond. Biking is accommodated all around the reservoir and between towns. There is a bike ferry from Dillon to Frisco.
Restaurants of all types are available in all the towns in and around Dillon. Great discount shopping is to be had in the outlet stores in Silverthorne. Grocery stores are available as well as specialty shops, art galleries, and boutiques. A large recreation center is available for all registered guests with swimming, saunas, hot tubs, inside track and weight room, basketball courts plus more.
A marina with boat rentals and instruction is 1 1/2 miles away. There is a live theater1 mile from the house.
Fridays in the summer there are farmers markets in town. Many Fridays and Saturdays there are evening concerts. Saturday mornings there are special adventures in town. Tuesday evenings have Country Dancing, Wednesday evenings they have Jitterbug dancing,

About Judy Deist
Harold Deist is a professional artist who paints in oil with traditional landscapes ranging from the southwest adobe architecture to the surrounding desert and mountains. Other subjects are water and boats, remarkable sunsets, and the animals of the area. He is represented in Denver, CO at Abend Gallery. His paintings reside in countries all over the world. His paintings were chosen by the Iceland Ambassador's residence to show the landscape of the southwest.
Judy is a retired small animal veterinarian and long time photographer that also prefers outdoor subjects. Owners are active outdoor enthusiasts enjoying bicycling, skiing, and horses.

Why Judy Deist chose Dillon
This was purchased in Summit County for a perfect mountain house next to great fishing in the Dillon Reservoir and the Blue River. Harold's father was a great fly fisherman and loved the outdoors. The house was just was refurbished. We recently took over managing the house since both are now gone, and are converting it to a vacation rental so the family will also be able to use it when not rented, for all outdoor activities such as skiing and bicycling as well as horseback riding.
What makes this house unique
Full kitchen, well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, spices and other things usually not in rental houses. A king size select comfort bed is in the master bedroom as well as a large flat screen TV.
