Located in the hillside neighborhood of Villa Borinquen, just a short drive from the beaches and the town of Isabel Segunda, is this newly remodeled and furnished Caribbean home. The house has two beautiful bedrooms and two baths. A lower level third bedroom can also be an option. The deck of its 15 x 30' private pool offers a spectacular day/night view of El Fortin Conde de Mirasol, the historic Spanish Fort and the Atlantic Ocean.

Staying at Yellow Bird is a great way to get away from it all and still be only a short drive away from discovering the island's pristine beaches, amazing snorkeling, great bars and restaurants and local character. To truly enjoy your visit to Vieques, you will need to rent a car.

Why the Owner Chose Villa Borinquen: We love Vieques for its wonderful weather and its lovely people. The trade winds cool the house year round and the sun warms to pool in the winter months. The house is an inviting and comfortable retreat. The island is a fun and amazing adventure at every turn. You will love it!

The Unique Benefits of this House: There are a couple of large supermarkets and lots of small grocery stores nearby. Cooking at the house is really fun. The kitchen is open to the dining room and living room and has peninsula with 4 bar stools. The gas grill is at the pool and there is seating for indoor and outdoor dining. The Pool is Amazing! At night, the view of the Historic Spanish Fort is unbelievably breathtaking.

Home on the Isle

We loved our stay here! We were a party of 6 and had a blast. The house was tastefully decorated, the layout is open and inviting, and the rooms were all great (and the downstairs room was perfectly soundproofed for light sleepers concerned about the loudness of fellow housemates). I appreciated the subtle touches, the kitchen appliances were nice, extra linens were really cute, we used the gas grill every day, and the blender got a total workout. The back yard with pool was definitely the highlight. We spent so much time by the pool it was awesome! So refreshing after days exploring the island and its extraordinary beaches. We even used the screened in gazebo as our "yoga hut".

Thank you, Daryl, Kelly and Cheo. Can't wait to come back!

Vieques Vacation

Yellow Bird is a great choice for a Vieques vacation. The house is located high on a hill in a real Vieques neighborhood. Nearby are several small stores and a fruit and vegetable stand- we found everything that we needed to cook great breakfasts and a few dinners in a modern kitchen. The living and dining areas were roomy- plenty of space for us to spread out, play card games, read and eat. The bedrooms were large and beds very comfy. The owners made lots of towels available! We really liked the pool area with its grill and views. After a full day at the beach it was delightful to come back and take a swim. The off-site caretakers- Kelly and Cheo- are lovely people and made our stay exceptional. They gave us great advice about beaches, restaurants, shopping and car rental- their help alone made Yellow Bird an outstanding choice. We hope to go back- soon!

Loved Yellow Bird

This was our first trip to Vieques, so we really did not know what to expect. We loved it~ and hope to make a return trip one day! The travel to reach the house was part of the intrigue and provided us with a pleasant surprise when we reached Yellow Bird. The house was perfect for our family~ ample room, necessary amenities, and tasteful decor all surrounded by the lush beauty of the island! We loved the pool and screened in patio~ the island breeze is wonderful, and filters throughout the house~ we did not feel the need to use any of the bedroom air conditioners! The beaches were beautiful, and we found the people very helpful and friendly. The newly screened in area to the laundry and third bedroom helped keep the mosquitos away~ but overall, bugs were really not an issue. The neighbors' roosters were our alarm clock, which pushed us to wake early and make the most of our day on the island! The caretakers for the property were most attentive and helped us acclimate right away. Our family had a wonderful time in Vieques~ it was a good memory maker. Yellow Bird is the place to stay!

For those of you looking for a vacation rental in Vieques, Yellow Bird is the place to stay. Out family of 6 thought that the accommodations were superb! The house has been tastefully decorated and the kitchen has all the amenities needed to prepare any meal. We spent many afternoons relaxing by the pool, and later preparing dinner on the gas grill. The hilltop location has beautiful valley views, we felt like we were staying in a tree house. The gazebo is located right off the pool area, screened in, and is a great place to enjoy morning coffee. Please consider Yellow Bird for your visit, you will have so much fun! This place deserves a 5 star rating!!

A Wonderful Location for our Relaxed Vacation

My family of four stayed at Yellow Bird for a week. We loved it. The property was perfect for our relaxed vacation. The interior and exterior are well equipped and really comfortable, new and pretty. We spent a lot of time in the afternoon at the pool. When we wanted to be out of the sun, we took our games, books and music out to the gazebo where there was always a cool breeze. The driveway is steep since the house is built on a hillside but we got used to it and found that having our rental car in the garage kept it cool. The house is in a tropical neighborhood – very lush and private. The house is fenced and gated and very secure. At night, we put on DVDs and watched from the fantastic movie collection. There is no regular TV but we didn’t miss it. The house is close to markets and to town and it is not far from the Navy Base beaches, which are the best on the island. The lower level has a screened laundry and a single bedroom and bath. The laundry was great but we did not use the bedroom or the bath that much. I would recommend the house for 1 or 2 couples or a family of 4. Thanks for a great trip. We will come back very soon.
