Our executive-style mountain home features four bedrooms, with queen beds, and three bathrooms, each with double vanities and tub/shower combinations. The lake and mountain range views from the master bedroom and both decks are truly unbelievable, some of the best that Bear Paw offers.
The main floor level has solid oak hardwood floors, and soaring tongue and groove pine ceilings. This level features an open great room, a dining room, a stacked rock gas fireplace, a 32 inch LCD flat panel television with surround sound, a VCR/DVD combo, a fully-equipped kitchen with solid surface countertops and sink, raised panel oak kitchen cabinets, two bedrooms, and a full bath. This floor leads to two decks, one covered with a 6 foot cedar swing and one open. The view of the lake and mountains from both of these decks is fantastic!!
The upper level has a master suite with solid oak hardwood floors, a television, a DVD player and a separate sitting area that overlooks the great room below and the fantastic view of the lake and mountains through the wall of windows. This master bedroom also has a full bath.
The lower level has a bedroom, a living room with a television, a DVD player, a full bathroom, a full-size washer and dryer, and a deck, with a 5 foot swing. It offers views of the lake and mountains.
Our home is located in Bear Paw, which is the only development on gorgeous Lake Hiwassee in the mountains of southwestern North Carolina. Lake Hiwassee is only five to ten minutes walking distance from our home. Lake Hiwassee is an 18-mile long mountain lake that offers casual fishing, boating, and swimming. There is also a shared swimming pool (open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, a marina that rents boats, a tennis court, a basketball court, a child's playground, and a child's fishing pond. A secured entrance gate adds to the feeling of peace and serenity pervading Bear Paw.

Carlos Gaskin purchased this house in 2000
We had vacationed in Bear Paw several times and enjoyed the area a great deal. It is in a gated community near Murphy, and has beautiful views. We liked the fact that there is an olympic-sized swimming pool, tennis court and basketball courts to provide entertainment. Our children, who are grown now but were young at the time we built our first house in Bear Paw, absolutely loved to go there. Since the area has rentals and permanent homes, we did not feel like we were tourists; we felt at home.
We like swimming and fishing on the lake as well as boating. The swimming pool and playground are nice for the little ones. It is such a peaceful place. If you want activities, there are plenty around, but if you want peace and quiet, Bear Paw is hard to beat.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at your home in the mountains. We found your home to be as beautiful as the view. Thank you for allowing us to use your home and thank you for checking with us to be sure everything was satisfactory on our arrival. We had an awesome time at your home and the surrounding area. Helen Ga. was awesome being German it was especially nice to see such an awesome replica of an authenic Alpine Village. Even though we were a few weeks early for the fall colors everything else was great and we were not disappointed. Thank you again and we will probably be calling you again for more time there. We will certainly recommend your place to the doctors and nurses we work with.
Had a great time with family sitting on the deck taking in the million dollar mountain view. The home is clean and we'll stocked. Everything you need. We went fishing at Lake Cherokee and also rented a boat to go out on Lake Hiwassee. Enjoyed dining at Rib Country and Brothers Restaurant. Will return again.
A group of 7 of us stayed in this lovely home for 3 nights. The home is very clean and the view is magnificent! The home was equipped with everything we needed and the listing was very accurate. The owners are extremely easy to deal with and I highly recommend this to anyone who wishes a mountain getaway. We rented a pontoon boat from the marina which is located in the same subdivision as the home and had a day to remember. We also drove about an hour to the Nantahala River and went white water rafting. There are lots of things to do in the area.
Our family really enjoyed the home, Lake Hiwassee, and the Bear Paw pool! The home was very clean and well furnished, with breath-taking views from the deck. We rented a pontoon boat at the local Marina and our children had a great time fishing and floating on the tube behind the boat. We found trails to hike and even found a beautiful waterfall only about a 30-minute drive from Bear Paw. We also had a very nice meal at Rib Country in Murphy. We plan to stay here again!
What a great cabin. Perfect for our two families. Slept 4 adults and 4 kids comfortably with plenty of living space for everyone. Covered deck was great and the view of the mountains and the lake was awesome.
My family and I stayed in this wonderful cabin over our spring break and had the best time. The home is beautiful and very cozy. The view of the lake and the mountains from the huge windows and the wonderful deck is AMAZING!
The owners have stocked the cabin with virtually everything you could ever possibly need! Every single time we needed something, there it was. It is obvious that the owners have put a lot of time, thought, and love into this cabin. This makes for a very comfortable and inviting stay.
The home is nice, large, and comfortable. The deck and porch swing are events unto themselves. We also enjoyed playing ping pong in the basement, playing the board games provided to us, and cozying up by the fireplace. The provided grill made for great family meals that we enjoyed out on the deck to soak in that great view. The home is filled with great reading material, and seems like an ideal place to curl up with a good book and relax.
The basement is like a little apartment, and would be ideal for a couple or a person who wanted a little privacy from the group.
We loved our time at the cabin and will definitely rent it again the next time we are over in the Murphy area. I highly recommend this property for anyone who wants a great, homey place to stay and a stunning view.
My family enjoyed your home a lot. The scenery from the balcony is absolutely breathtaking. We loved the roominess of the cabin. It fit all 7 of us comfortably. The pictures of the home are beautiful, but you have to be inside the home to see the real beauty of it. We enjoyed it all from the birds on the birdfeeders to the squirrels stealing the birdseed to the view of the mountains. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We will return to this area in the future. We would love to rent the cabin again. We hated to leave.
