This beautiful, private guesthouse is available year round for nightly and weekly rentals. It’s located on the outskirts of town, yet is just five minutes from shopping and restaurants. It is beautifully decorated in true western style, and comes fully furnished with a cook-ready kitchen, one bedroom with a queen sized Tempurpedic bed and a second bedroom with 2 twin beds, sitting area with Direct TV, wireless internet access, bath with tub and shower, and hot tub access. A fire pit is located in front for the use of our guests. Pasture is available for up to 4 horses (hay included if necessary for an additional fee) with plenty of room for truck and trailer parking. The views are incredible and there are no cross streets in front of our property, so it's very quiet and peaceful. Since we are open year round, we welcome hunters, fishermen, hikers, snowmobilers, cross country skiers, horseback riders, nature lovers, mountain bikers.......everyone who loves the out of doors.
Avout the Owners: Bob and Sierra Smith, full time residents of Saratoga, Wyoming, are both avid horseback riders and outdoors people. Bob has lived in the valley since 1981 and was in the fishing/hunting outfitting business for over 25 years. Few people know more about the valley than he does. Both Bob and Sierra have a love of the outdoors and all that this special valley has to offer. They keep their 4 personal horses there on site and love sharing their love of riding, fishing, hiking, four wheeling and wildlife viewing with newcomers to the area.
Why the Owner Chose Saratoga: We purchased this property as our private residence where we could have our horses right at home with us. What is now our guesthouse was originally simply used as a separate storage building on the property and was not initially purchased as a vacation rental. After a complete renovation of the main house, the storage unit was then also completely renovated and turned into a beautiful guesthouse. After some thought and much encouragement from family and friends, it was decided to offer the guesthouse commercially for nightly and weekly rentals.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin: Incredible mountain views; amazing star filled night skies; peace and quiet; access to 2 floatable rivers for fly fishing, wade fishing, canoeing; unlimited places to view wildlife, hike, four wheel, horseback ride, cross country ski, snowmobile....just about anything you would want to do outside can be done in Saratoga. Saratoga also has a natural mineral hot pool that is open 24/7 all year long and is free to the public; and it's just 5 minutes from the guesthouse. Bob & Sierra will be happy to make advance preparations if guests would like to horseback ride, fly fish down the river, take a scenic river float, go four wheeling or make dinner reservations for guests at Saratoga's exceptional steakhouse, The Wolf Hotel.

Sierra or Bob Smith purchased this cabin in 2005
We wanted a place where we could have our horses right on the property with us, one with beautiful views and a property that would be close enough to town to be convenient but not so close that we didn't have privacy as well as peace and quiet.
There are no cross streets in front of or beside our property so it is very private and quiet. The views are absolutely second to none.
The Roan Hill Ranch Guesthouse is the kind of place I don't want to tell others about because I selfishly want to keep it to myself. With hospitality like that offered by Bob and Sierra, it is no wonder that the secret is out. This is the best place to stay in Saratoga.
My wife and I traveled to Saratoga from Fort Collins for an anniversary weekend getaway. Sierra had a bottle of wine and card waiting when we arrived. She made reservations at Bella's for dinner. (If you go to Saratoga, go to Bella's. In fact, go to Saratoga if for no other reason then just to eat at Bella's - it's that good.) The guesthouse is well-appointed. It's quite cozy and has a tasteful Western flare. I believe the queen bed is a tempurpedic. It's quite comfortable. The kitchen is complete with everything you need to make a full meal. The views from the front of the guesthouse are amazing. Our first night there, I saw a shooting star like I had never seen. In the daylight, the mountain vistas are picturesque.
But, in my mind, Bob and Sierra make the place. They are welcoming, friendly, and willing to share their knowledge of the area with you, but yet offer you privacy. Bob provided us excellent tips on local fishing and hiking spots - map included.
Great location, great scenery, great food, great accommodations, great activities, and great hosts! We'll be back!
We visited Saratoga for the first time for a quiet family weekend. We have stayed in a lot of guest houses and this was absolutely one of the best. Bob and Sierra thought of everything a person could need, right down to the sticks for marshmallow roasting. The beds were extremely comfortable and the hot water very hot and plentiful. We loved the fire pit and enjoyed talking with Sierra and Bob. The area is lovely and there is much to do, or nothing to do but sit and relax. We highly recommend the guest quarters and hope to visit again.
What a gorgeous place to stay - from the western décor to the gorgeous view of the Snowy Range that greeted us every morning. Bob and Sierra were excellent hosts. We spent most of our time with our son and family, who also lives in Saratoga, so did not have time to enjoy the fire pit or cooking on the grill. Maybe next time!!
We had a very enjoyable stay at the ranch. The owners were very personable an accommodating. Lots of wildlife and world class fishing nearby. Great place to stay for whatever reason you are in Saratoga.
Bob and Sierra (and rowdy!!) are wonderful hosts, and the guesthouse is just as described. The vista was great, as were the hot springs. Our dogs also enjoyed the week long visit. We hope you had some, but not too much, rainfall. Thanks again. Jim, Connie, Coffey, and Sandy.
We feel truly blessed to have found this little piece of heaven, to bring our family together and celebrate my moms 75th birthday. Bob and Sierra made this weekend so special for our family. The fresh picked wild flowers, the warm hospitality, the beautiful views, the fire pit, the BBQ. My family hasn't stopped talking about the amazing guesthouse tucked away in such a beautiful place and a special couple that were a part of wonderful memories made!!! We definately will be back!
Saratoga, WY is located about 100 miles west of Laramie in the beautiful Platte River valley. Our small town is best known for the first class fly fishing opportunities on the North Platte River and the Encampment River, both of which are located here in town. People come from all over the country to enjoy not only the fishing, but the spectacular scenery surrounding Saratoga on all sides. Majestic Elk Mountain is a wondrous sight at any time of year. The wildlife is abundant and visitors marvel at the herds of pronghorn antelope, elk, mule deer, and whiltetail deer that can be seen all over the valley. Saratoga is also known for it's big game hunting, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, hiking, horseback riding and snowshoeing. Our little town also has a natural mineral hotpool that is open 24/7, is free to the public and has bathroom and shower facilities. It doesn't matter what time of year you visit because there is always something to do in our valley.
Other Activities: Rock climbing, shopping, snowmobiling, health/beauty spa, kayaking, and wildlife viewing.
