The cottage and the view were everything I'd dreamed of and more!!! When we first arrived we got out of the car after a 9 hour trip and went to see the water. The view just took our breath away!!! We all just stood there and couldn't believe we were lucky enough to be spending a week there!! The cottage is so sweet and homey, we felt at ease right away, and it even had that feeling of "home" when we came back from the grocery store. Maddy just loved playing with her toys in the windowsill with that glorious view in front of her.
I loved the way the cottage was decorated, it gave it such a warm Maine feeling. It is similar to how I decorate with country things at home, so that was really fun to me. The cottage had everything we could need, and I could "feel" your presence so much, I felt that any minute you would be arriving back at your beloved cottage. It is so gracious of you to share this very special place with all of us, I will always be thankful for that cozy restful week I spent there. Everyone we met was so nice, one night in a big rainstorm we found that out tire was going flat and the place in town for closed, so we stopped at Tall Barney's to ask for directions to an pump, and one of the girls called her husband at the Coast Guard Station and he told her to send us over and he would fix us up. He came out in the pouring rain and was such a gentlemen!!! We went to Tall Barney's the next night and had the best scallops we'd ever had.
We did see the eagles and were so ecstatic,, as we'd talked about seeing them since last winter. We saw them several times as well as the seals, and blue herons. Aron walked out to the island several times and found it fascinating. We visited Jasper Beach and really liked it, then took our 2 grandsons 7 & 10 over to collect rocks when they visited. They came up from Liberty Maine, from a church camp they go to, and we celebrated all our birthdays with a barbeque and a visit to the beach.
My husband and son enjoyed looking through the telescope, and binoculars and they enjoyed the hominess of the cottage as well. We all read a lot of the books and notebook etc that you had there for us, and enjoyed learning about a part of Maine that we had never visited before.
Thank you again for a wonderful visit to your fabulous cottage by the sea, we will always cherish our memories of our week there.

Jonesport is unique in that it exemplifies Maine. Most tourists don't travel north of Bar Harbor, yet there is a beautiful coast and pretty villages. Jonesport has one of the world's largest lobster fishing fleets. The town is quaint with it's harbor, white church steeples, and friendly people.
We found it a calm, quiet, serene location where we can relax, yet take day trips to so many wonderful places nearby. You can buy fresh lobster at the pier in Jonesport, explore tide pools in your back yard, walk to the island at low-tide, or swim at nearby Sandy River Beach. Kayaking and tours to see whales and puffins are available in Jonesport. Golf is just minutes away as is the University of Maine, Machias with a fitness center and library open to the public. Visit Bar Harbor, Eastport, and Campobello Island, New Brunswick - all an easy drive away.
