We have been visiting the Bend area since 1973. We often indulge ourselves with the various activities that the area has to offer. Frequently we take side trips to other locales and sample the cuisine and geography of that area.
Anthony Marchiano purchased this cottage in 2005
The Bend area has grown significantly, yet it remains small in comparison. The area is rich in outdoor activities and that is very tantalizing to us.
We frequently hike, bicycle, fish and sight see, when visiting Bend. We also enjoy the Maragas winery in Culver. We enjoy the local farmers market and daily utilize the bounty to adorn our table. We walk to downtown frequently, be it to get a coffee or just stroll the park and take in the sounds and fragrances of the river.
It is with great satisfaction that we could accommodate our guest in their hour of need and to do it without concern for ourselves.
Love this place. Within in walking distance to all but a few breweries in town. Boneyard is just a stones throw. The parking area is convenient and gives peace of mind. The area is quiet for a good nights sleep. I will be coming back when I visit again.
This was our second time staying at the Ferguson Cottage this year and both times were excellent. The house has everything we need and has a great vibe. The location is easy walking distance to the downtown area and the Old Mill District (including the Les Schaub Amphitheater which is a fantastic outdoor concert venue). It was fun exploring the Bend area - really good food and brew, bike riding (secure storage shed at cottage), hiking (you've got to do the trek at Smith Rock's Misery Ridge Trail to Monkey Face), shopping and visiting the High Desert Museum). If you like being active there is always something to do in Bend and the Ferguson Cottage is the perfect home base.
My husband and I vacationed in Bend mountain biking and sightseeing, enjoying the town of Bend itself and its surrounding areas. This cottage with its manicured, spacious backyard and charming décor, made for great relaxation after a long day. Although we chose not to cook on this vacation, the kitchen is well appointed if you choose to do so. It was an added plus to have laundry facilities too. Its location is ideal close to coffee, shopping, and what have you. Anthony, the owner, has been prompt and cordial to deal with and most certainly has done a commendable job in making this a home away from home.
My husband and I recently stayed at the Ferguson Cottage. The house was clean, cozy and had cute decorations. The kitchen was well stocked and roomy enough to cook/gather in. It is obvious someone put in some effort on landscaping the grounds and keeping them manicured as it was beautiful and very enjoyable to spend time in the back yard on the patio. We used the travel information provided in the organizer to find things to do and places to eat in/around Bend. The short walk to the historic downtown area made this trip perfect! With downtown being just under 0.5 miles away we found it not only convenient, but to be an enjoyable part of our trip. There was also storage room for your gear (bicycles/snowboards/fishing equip, etc). I would most definitely recommend for business or pleasure trips for 2-4 people. The only downfall I saw with this property is the small bathroom - yes singular (as is common with this age/style of home). We look forward to staying at the Ferguson house again!
Last but not least it should be noted that when we had questions about the property the renter was most helpful and got back to us in a very expedient manner. It was appreciated and the good communication ensured the trip went smoothly as planned.
Close to everything. Very clean, liked the new cooking utensils. Could use some smaller desert/cereal bowls. Should consider adding Wifi. Really liked Strictly Organic coffee house right down the street and Looney Bean coffee house downtown Bend. Finally being able to have a gas grill was a big plus and the owner recently had all new landscaping installed which was really nice! Would definitely return.
I can't believe this house is almost 100 years old! Beautiful kitchen, perfect size! Tons of closet space! Can't think of a single complaint other than I couldn't stay longer! Would love to come back!
