Welcome to The Austinite!
This is a lovely 2/1 that is quintessentially Austin. Tucked away in Barton HIlls, one of Austin’s favorite neighborhoods, this property features an enclosed bamboo garden with an outdoor shower and hot tub. It honestly doesn’t get much cooler.
Then up the stairs to the front deck, which has the feel of a treehouse because you’re at the tops of the 30-foot high bamboo and just beneath the canopy of surrounding trees. There’s two bedrooms, one queen bed and one king.
The kitchen is fully furnished with everything you could want to cook a feast. Basic spices, oil, and all the pots and pans you’d need. There is also a grill on the front deck.
Towels and linens are of course included, with extras available as well. In the bathroom, you’ll find Dove shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Bring some flip flops so you can enjoy the outdoor shower...it’s a great way to start the day!

This property encompasses so much of what makes Austin awesome. You can walk and bike to dozens of restaurants, Zilker Park and The Barton Creek Greenbelt!
The hot tub area is incredible and being so close to S. Lamar is a major plus. Also, we have two other rental units that actually share a driveway so if you have a larger group we can definitely accommodate!
The Austinite is located in the heart of Barton Hills, just three miles to downtown and just a few blocks from so many amazing restaurants and fun things to do! First and foremost the Barton Creek Greenbelt: there is a neighborhood entrance just two blocks away! You can hike the day away and never know you're in the middle of a city. It's truly amazing down there.
For food and drink: Kerbey Lane Cafe, Torchy's Taco's Amy's Ice Cream, East Side King, Gourdough's Public House, Bakers St Pub, Thundercloud Subs, Papalote Taco House, and SO many more than are literally just a hop skip and a jump away.
If you're not driving in and not wanting to rent a car, the CapMetro bus lines are fabulous for getting in and around downtown, and there are bus stops less than two blocks away to scoot up Lamar.
There is a great farmers market on Saturday just a 10 minute walk!
If golf is your thing: I used to play professionally (2005-2009 full time) and I still have connections at several great courses. So let me know for sure if you're bringing your clubs and maybe I'll even try to come fill the foursome if I can!
This is a fabulous neighborhood with tons of character and the location is a perfect doorstep to everything that makes Austin what it is.
