Oak Creek Canyon is a special part of Sedona. It's cooler in the summer and magical in the winter.
There is a welcoming feeling when you enter the cabin. The cabin provides a relaxing place for travelers who enjoy time away from mainstream life.
Wonderful place! Incredibly clean, well-appointed and comfortable, in a very charming area. Rental exactly as pictured and described. We went into Sedona only twice - did all of our hiking in Oak Creek Canyon. Drove to the South Rim for sunrise one day, totally worth the effort. Amazing hiking in Oak Creek - we did a morning and afternoon hike every day for 6 days, and there are still many trails we didn't have time to explore. Maybe another time...:)
I stayed here for four nights in March. We arrived late at night and the owners graciously offered for us to follow them to the house, so we didn't get lost. The house exceeded my expectations. It is absolutely perfect! The house is very clean, well maintained, and beautiful. We loved all the kitchen supplies and enjoyed the fireplace. There is plenty of firewood available. Basically, the owners have thought of everything to make your stay the best it can be.
The house is a quick drive to Sedona. We did Doe Mountain and Cathedral Rock hike and also rented a Jeep (Barlow Jeep Rentals), so we could explore around at our own pace. We went to the Honanki Ruins. We also did a trip to Grand Canyon (only a 1hr 45 min drive). Our trip was wonderful and staying here was a highlight of the trip. We will definitely be back!
This property is exactly what you would expect from a little piece of Sedona Heaven
The owners of this property handle their vacation rental like professionals. The home was well prepared, very clean, and information on the area's activities very well organized and available when we arrived. Everything was as advertised!
Let me start by saying that my wife and I have stayed in Canyon Spirit 4 times since June 2012, and plan on coming back in the fall of 2015. We love it that much. I can't imagine a space better than this if you are looking to relax and de-stress. Everything is perfect down to the smallest detail. We like to take advantage of all the cabin has to offer. We generally would wake up early, start a fire in the fireplace (it's quite chilly in Oak Creek Canyon during the Fall mornings) and eat a big breakfast prepared in the full kitchen. After relaxing in front of the fire for a bit, we would head into Sedona and hike, shop, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Later in the afternoon we drive back north and spend the rest of the day in this wonderful cabin. It feels like another world. Even on days where the temperature is warm in Sedona, it's not uncommon for the temp at the cabin to be 10-15 degrees cooler. We like to get the fireplace going again and enjoy listening to the collection of CDs while just hanging out, reading, watching the birds, and eating an early dinner. Later on it feels wonderful to go into the outdoor hot tub and sooth sore muscles from the hike earlier that day. There are lots of games and movies to watch as well. It's my favorite vacation spot of all time. I highly recommend it.
I could not stop myself from reading the guest book and then recording our stay to be read by the next visitor. I travel often for work and still give the cabin a 5 stars rating. We came to mountain bike and hike, never expecting the cabin to be one a highlight of the trip. In the tourist excitement of Sedona, how wonderful to go home (and yes we quickly imagined ourselves living there) to the quiet cool stone patio with its rocking chairs, bird feeders that look like artwork, busy with squirrels and robins, and the Arizona hummingbirds, who make a tiny helicopter sound, as they whizz to and from their feeder, which lights up at dusk. As dusk settles, outside mood lights magically coming on, and you can feel and hear the cool breeze coming down the side of the canyon, fragrantly stirring the pine trees.
We arrived to stone step, with lights leading to a rustic log door. A CD was playing songs of local Native American Indians, beating the drums, while dancers chanted to the spirits. The incense smelled of Arizona grasses, blue skies, and red rocks, which lead us away from mountain biking, to rediscover the ancient cliff dwellings and walk the trails of the Sedona State Park.
The cabin. What can I say to sum it all up, that has not been already said by the other enchanted VRBO reviewers, except I found antique silver spoons in the kitchen drawers. The cabin was spotless inside and out. Everything was thoughtful, to the red gloss kitchen cabinets, morning coffee from the Krups single cup maker, a full spice drawer, and artifacts and mystical rocks, mixed with art, displayed around the cabin for our pleasure.
Debra is an experienced host and we considered her to be a friend when she called to remind us that rains can lead to Oak Creek Canyon road closures. We found a basket filled with more tour brochures then time for, which sent us to the Flagstaff observatory to view the evening stars. The collection of DVD entertained us at night with Alfred Hitchcock’s The Lady Vanishes. Cookies found on the butcher block with hot chocolate. A store gift certificate used to buy mushroom pasta made by locals.
We consider the trip to be a perfect success, with a small personal exception. As with all trips, everything can’t be perfect for everyone. The big beautiful leather couch in front of the fireplace was not comfortable after a hard day on the bike trails. We found it lacked movie watching back support and took to the chairs.
This is a special location in Oak Creek Canyon in Sedona where you can retreat, relax and re energize yourself. The cabin is conveniently located between Flagstaff and Uptown Sedona approximately 15-20 minutes each way. There are many outdoor activities, Native American sites , metaphysical and spiritual services.
Come and be where nature is the attraction.
