The Alexandria, MN area offers a great variety of activities and Lake Louise is calm and family friendly. Summer brings water sports, picnicking and relaxing by the beach. Fall color is breathtaking and winter sparkles with snow, cross country skiing and sitting by the fireplace.
The owners enjoy having room to seat 12 for dinner, cooking in the gourmet kitchen and having the pontoon and paddleboat available whenever they want to use it. Their family and friends love having lots of space to gather and yet being able to find a quiet place for solitude too.
Each year four couples get together for a few days. We have done this for 25 years. This year we went to Lake Pointe, as we enjoy the outdoors and thought. Alexandria, Minnesota would be a nice place to visit. When we looked at the website, we knew we were getting a nice house, but when we drove up and actually saw it we were totally amazed. We walked around the house not believing this place was ours for a few days. The outside has a nice pontoon and paddle boat that work well. The yard is absolutely gorgeous, with tables to seat many people along with a smaller table right close by the lake. There is also a fire pit close by the house with chairs there for eight people. We were there in early September and enjoyed the sunrise and sunset outside listening to the loons. At the time we were there, it was very quiet and peaceful since it was off season. You can fish from the dock if you like, but hang on to your rod as the bass will pull your rod right into the water! And that water is cold when trying to retrieve it. We can only imagine how beautiful it is right now with the leaves turning colors!
The inside of the house is huge and beautiful! There is a gourmet kitchen with beautiful granite countertops. Everything you need is right there. There is also a large formal dining room and living room. We mostly spent our time in the bright, cheery sunroom playing games or enjoying the outdoors, but believe me, if you need your space, you can find it here. I noticed there are many items available for children, like pack and plays, walker, high chair, rainbow play set etc...so this also would be a great place for family reunions. We loved our time there and in Alexandria. It would be very difficult to think anyone would not enjoy their time at Lake Pointe. The owner was also always available if we had any questions. Loved it!
We celebrated our 50th Anniversary with our family of 16. We were so delighted with this beautiful home. The home is very large and accommodated all of us with ease. The home has very large rooms. The Master Suite was big and beautiful with an onsuite of not only a large bathroom but also an adjacent dressing room and a walk-in closet. The kitchen was a cooks dream kitchen. My favorite channel on TV is the Home and Garden channel. This kitchen could be featured as a dream kitchen on that show, My three daughters did all the cooking and found it a pleasure to work in to cook our meals. A Celebration meal was prepared and enjoyed in the lovely formal dinning room. The 8 grandchildren ages 10 - 17 loved being outdoors because there were so many things to do - paddleboat, Rainbow playset, vollyball net, and lots of space to play games. We loved using the pontoon and used it several times a day for rides and fishing. The paddleboat was enjoyed with the grandchildren. On one day that it rained, the ping-pong table in the garage was used to intertain the whole family. My husband and I loved the sunroom because we could watch all the activities that the family was doing from there while they were outdoors. Because there was so much to do, we did not need to watch TV (a nice large flatscreen in the Greatroom). Many spaces to use if a person wanted to be by themselves to read or do a project. The owners of this home, were so great to work with. Always responded with an email or phone call. The work they put into this home shows their pride and joy in serving their renters with the best there is to have in a vacation home. Cannot say enough good things about this wonderful home. We Loved it!! The family will always have wonderful memories celebrating our 50th Anniversary.
Each year approximately 14 of us get together in a different city for a "Girls Get-Away". This was one of the most enjoyable and classy homes we have rented so far. The description and photos in the listing were exactly what we were looking for but when we got there, we realized they were being modest. The home was spacious, VERY clean and every amenity we could have imaged or needed. Judy was available for the few questions we did have.
We normally don't do a summer get-away but we've talked about making this home our first, next tradition.
Margie and the girls thank you Judy !!
This home proved to be the perfect choice for our family's yearly get together. We were 8 adults and 7 grandchildren, ages 2 to 9. There was so much for everyone to do. The Rainbow system became a Pirate Ship, the beach area is great for young ones - shallow for a good distance out, the paddle boat was fun and the pontoon was a huge hit with all. We made use of it at least twice a day. The home itself was immaculate and had everything we needed from toilet paper to lots of pots, pans, dishes, towels - you name it. (But bring your own shampoo, etc.) We requested a late departure since no one was renting the home after us, and the owners were able to accomodate us. They were very easy to work with.
The master suite is enormous! In the walk-in closet we found 2 pack 'n plays with enough room to use it as a bedroom for young ones. One bedroom has a trundle bed plus a crib. None of our grandchildren are small enough for the crib, but 4 of them enjoyed sharing the room with 2 single beds with 2 loving their sleeping bags. There is a sofa in the office that makes into a bed, but we didn't need to use it. The office also has a nice reclining chair. One of our doctor/daughters really liked this quiet spot to relax and read - a nice change from her busy life. There are 2 wing-back chairs in the sunroom that I especially appreciated. I could watch the 'action' from there. The dining table accomadated all 15 of us. For the first 2 days there were only 6 of us and we enjoyed eating at the smaller table in the sunroom overlooking the lake. Later we used it for a couple of meals where we set up a serving buffet area. There are also 2 good sized tables just outside the door. We enjoyed s'mores over the fire pit. I could go on and on! This is a wonderful home with lots of things to keep you busy and spacious enough to find your own quiet spot.
If you think this home looks amazing in pictures, you shoud see it in person!!! There wasn't a thing that we needed, that they didn't have - gourmet kitchen, a garage full of yard games, board games, movies, a closet full of games and toys for children, a huge Rainbow system outside for them - no one could ever get bored!! If this isn't enough, there is always basketball, shuffleboard, a pontoon, paddleboat, beach - no reason to ever leave! We had 4 families staying here, and we never tripped over each other - in fact, we sometimes had to use the intercom to find people! The owners couldn't have been more accomodating - wonderful people. We are already planning another vacation for next year!
