Allyson and I met, married, and have lived in Steamboat Springs for the past 30 years. We bought our condo in the event we ever move and want to be able to return frequently to visit. We like to travel and have traveled abroad and throughout the country. These experiences allowed us to realize what a special place Steamboat is, and we know others would enjoy visiting our town. We have made good friends here in Steamboat Springs and enjoy the many advantages of living in a resort area. We invite you to visit Steamboat Springs in any season to sample the casual lifestyle of a contemporary town with a small town atmosphere and a taste of the West. Join us. John and Allyson
We bought our condo in the event we ever move and want to be able to return frequently to visit. We chose this condo because it is located on the bike paths and near the bus stop. It is within walking distance of the ski mountain, tennis complex, and the Strings in the Mountain pavilion. A 20-minute bike ride takes you downtown along the Yampa River Core Trail. That easy ride brings you by the riparian boardwalk through a wetlands area, fishing on the Yampa River, kayaking and tubing, the pro rodeo grounds, Howelsen Hill with its famous ski jumping, skiing and alpine slide, the Old Town Hot Springs, Botanic Park, ball fields and local parks and of course to the downtown shopping experience. A very short drive takes you to Fish Creek Falls, into the pastoral countryside, the natural hot springs in Strawberry Park, and wilderness areas and national forests. Steamboat Springs is a town for casual living with a friendly atmosphere and a real taste of the West. That’s why we continue to live here!
Allyson and I love being outdoors. We garden, landscape, bike, motorcycle, and visit with friends. We particularly enjoy the various eating places in Steamboat. Being educators we have gotten to know many people because of the children and their parents we work with daily. Steamboat hosts many activities like the balloon races, Art in the Park, free concerts, river events, parades, and town events that we like to attend. The Old Town Hot Springs is a place we like to frequent for the pool and the workout rooms. One thing that we really like about Steamboat is the beautiful countryside, and with the countryside comes much wildlife and the incredible wildflower displays throughout our area. Driving into the Yampa Valley from Rabbit Ears presents the most spectacular view. I remember the first time I began the descent into the valley one May evening just at sunset. The terrain was accented in blues and verdant greens and the layers of ridges were capped off by the snow on the Flat Top Mountains. This is Steamboat Springs!
