Allyson and I met, married, and have lived in Steamboat Springs for the past 30 years. We bought our condo in the event we ever move and want to be able to return frequently to visit. We like to travel and have traveled abroad and throughout the country. These experiences allowed us to realize what a special place Steamboat is, and we know others would enjoy visiting our town. We have made good friends here in Steamboat Springs and enjoy the many advantages of living in a resort area. We invite you to visit Steamboat Springs in any season to sample the casual lifestyle of a contemporary town with a small town atmosphere and a taste of the West. Join us. John and Allyson

The Owner purchased this condo in 2005

We bought our condo in the event we ever move and want to be able to return frequently to visit. We chose this condo because it is located on the bike paths and near the bus stop. It is within walking distance of the ski mountain, tennis complex, and the Strings in the Mountain pavilion. A 20-minute bike ride takes you downtown along the Yampa River Core Trail. That easy ride brings you by the riparian boardwalk through a wetlands area, fishing on the Yampa River, kayaking and tubing, the pro rodeo grounds, Howelsen Hill with its famous ski jumping, skiing and alpine slide, the Old Town Hot Springs, Botanic Park, ball fields and local parks and of course to the downtown shopping experience. A very short drive takes you to Fish Creek Falls, into the pastoral countryside, the natural hot springs in Strawberry Park, and wilderness areas and national forests. Steamboat Springs is a town for casual living with a friendly atmosphere and a real taste of the West. That’s why we continue to live here!

Allyson and I love being outdoors. We garden, landscape, bike, motorcycle, and visit with friends. We particularly enjoy the various eating places in Steamboat. Being educators we have gotten to know many people because of the children and their parents we work with daily. Steamboat hosts many activities like the balloon races, Art in the Park, free concerts, river events, parades, and town events that we like to attend. The Old Town Hot Springs is a place we like to frequent for the pool and the workout rooms. One thing that we really like about Steamboat is the beautiful countryside, and with the countryside comes much wildlife and the incredible wildflower displays throughout our area. Driving into the Yampa Valley from Rabbit Ears presents the most spectacular view. I remember the first time I began the descent into the valley one May evening just at sunset. The terrain was accented in blues and verdant greens and the layers of ridges were capped off by the snow on the Flat Top Mountains. This is Steamboat Springs!

EXCELLENT VALUE

  • 5 of 5
I stayed 6 weeks, and had a wonderful experience. The condo is clean, spacious, and comfy. It is on 2 bus lines, so a bus comes by every 8-12 minutes in the daytime, until after about 8 PM, when the night schedule starts. It is also a relaxing 15 minute walk from the ski area, slightly downhill. I usually took the bus in the mornings, then walked back in the evenings carrying my boots; overnight ski storage is available across from the gondola for $28/week in 2013, for those who don't want to carry skis and poles back and forth. Closets are spacious, beds comfy, laundry equipment state of the art. The master bath and kitchen are cozy but quite adequate. Owners are helpful and accommodating. Would definitely stay there again, even though I no longer have a pet.

Owner's Response: We truly enjoy having people be comfortable in our condo. We have refinished the shower in the master bedroom to finish the remodel of the condo. The bathrooms are "cozy" but now fully finished.
Bus routes are very close by and walking from the ski area back to the condo, is a nice way to end the ski day - especially on a beautiful day. I'll suggest that to other visitors who come to ski.

During the summer walking or biking back and forth to the mountain area is a nice little outing. Along with the bus routes, there is an easy biking and walking (if you want to take the time to have a relaxed 30 - 40 minute walk - you could take the free bus back) trail that runs along the river taking you by the Riparian Park, Botanic gardens, and public soccer fields as well as many little areas to access the river, rodeo grounds and the Howelsen Ski and Nordic Center area, ball fields and the "Howler" alpine slide. Of course you are then one block from Steamboat downtown shops and restaurants.
We hope you'll come visit us soon!

GREAT VALUE, GREAT LOCATION

  • 5 of 5
For the location and price, this condo could not be beat. It was right outside of Downtown and at the base of the Village so easy access to everything. The inside was clean and two bedrooms/two baths works really well for families or several people.

Owner's Response: We also think our condo is located in a great spot - close to the ski mountain, parks, two grocery stores, and downtown is only a few minutes away. You can also bike or hike from the condo to downtown along the Yampa River Core Trail. We hope all of our visitors enjoy the convenience of this location. Another nice amenity is the bus/shuttle stop about 200 feet from the condo.

GREAT CONDO!

  • 5 of 5
We were there for a baseball tournament and family vacation. Condo was well stocked with everything we needed, and stayed really nice and cool during the 90+ degree heat we had. Kids made great use of the swimming pool and we were able to run to the river path as well as the mountain trails leaving from the condo. Convenient and close to the ball fields too. Definitely would stay here again!

Owner's Response: Our condo is in a great location for almost any sports activity. It is close to the bake/hike paths which makes it easy to get around town.

The pool and hot tubs are a fun activity that can be enjoyed right there at the condo. We are pleased that our guests enjoy these amenities and we always want them to return to our condo on another visit to Steamboat.

We are here to help in any way we can to make your stay enjoyable.

The condo was very clean and we found it very centrally located; close to restaurants, shopping and downtown. The owners were great to work with and we look forward to renting from them again.

PERFECT PLACE!

  • 5 of 5
We rented this condo for our visit to Steamboat. It was our aunt's first time stating in a VRBO and after this stay she said from now on she will stay in VRBO's. She commented on how clean the place was and was so at home. This place has it all. The owners went above and beyond to accommodate. They even went out of their way to return my sunglasses that I left behind. Great location to everything. Would stay here again! Oh and it's a great place if you have a dog or two.

Owner's Response: We clean the condo ourselves, so we try to have it as we would want to have it were we visiting. We're happy that the cleanliness is noted.
VRBO is a great way to visit any vacation spot. We try to accommodate our visitors in any way possible. We do return lost items - even once a favorite pet toy. We hope everyone who visits our condo will have a most enjoyable stay!

GREAT MOUNTAIN LOCATION

  • 5 of 5
Great location for an easy late spring getaway with our dog. Condo was in excellent condition. Hosts did a great job keeping it clean and stocked for a weekend stay. Plenty of necessary kitchen items. We were too late for skiing, but seemed like there was good access to the mountain. Will recommend to friends and hopefully stay again.

Owner's Response: We try to make our guests comfortable with everything they need during their stay. We live in town and can respond to requests fairly quickly if there is a need. We have just about anything in the condo that you might need in your own home - laundry, meal preparation, and whatever else you may need.
