Cove Cottage is a rustic, comfortable two level home with 5 bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The house sits on Hawbolt's Cove and provides a stunning view of Beaver Harbour out to the Atlantic Ocean.
The large covered veranda is the perfect place to sit, relax and enjoy the view. There is a heated gazebo for chilly evenings when you want to be outside looking at the stars but keep cozy.
French doors off the dining area lead to an uncovered porch for those who want to sit in the sun.
Each of the 5 bedrooms has a queen size bed and generous closet space. In addition, there are 5 queen sized aero beds available, with ample floor space for set up.
Every bedroom boasts a beautiful water view.
In addition, there is a downstairs office room which can be set up as a sleeping room for those guests who are unable to go upstairs. One of the bathrooms is also on the first floor.
The house has a laundry room with a washer/dryer as well as a two car garage.
There is a comfortable den for relaxing, with a wide library of books and movies for guest use.
There is a pellet stove in the living room.
Ocean breezes keep the house airy and cool at all times.
Well equipped kitchen has dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and all other appliances. There is a comfy sunroom off the kitchen..a lovely spot for morning coffee.
The basement holds an extra refrigerator and full freezer. There is a wine fridge in the mudroom.
Vaccuum, broom, linens available as well as literature about local sites and maps.
Water shoes, beach towels, beach chairs sun hats, walking sticks, games are all available for guest use.

There is a path through the woods across the street. It’s fun to walk out to the point and search for driftwood.
At low tide, you will find an abundance of mussels on the rocks. You can pick them off the rocks, clean them well under the hose and steam for a delicious meal or appetizer.
Be sure to walk through the old Beaver Harbour cemetery. Walk to the left leaving the house. You will see a sign for the cemetary. Go up the hill and read the stones and enjoy a majestic view of the harbour.
Nearby TAYLOR HEAD PROVINCIAL PARK has over 10 miles of stunning, unspoiled coastline, white sand beaches and hiking trails. Many visitors regard the Taylor Head Park’s 15 kms of hiking trails to be among the most outstanding coastal trail systems on the eastern sea cost.
About a half hour away is beautiful Liscomb Game Sanctuary, the second largest in the province. Also the lovely Liscomb lodge for a drink or meal after you have hiked or canoed in the sanctuary.
Keep going down Rt. 7 past Liscomb and you’ll come to Sherbrook Village, a restored 19th century village on the banks of the St. Mary’s river. The staff, in period costume, run the village and teaches visitors about the day to day workings of life “back when”. You’ll learn about everything from iron forging to candle making to pottery.

Guided sea kayaking tours can be found in nearby Tangier with COASTAL ADVENTURES.
Sheet Harbour, about 10 minutes from the house, has a food market, post office, hardware store, pub (Henley House) etc.
Stop by the Tourist Information Center in Sheet Harbour and learn about the area’s rich history of lumbering and fishing through artifacts and photographs. There is also a delightful boardwalk in back. Great for walking. They also have a lot of information about various festivals being held in nearby communities.

In the mood for a special dinner? Marquis of Dufferin motel just a few miles away on Rt. 7 offers continental cuisine, fresh seafood and a lovely water view. They also sell crafts, sculptures and paintings done by local artists.
Halifax is about an hour and a half away (will leave maps). A fabulous port city, great for walking! It boasts an excellent art museum, natural history museum, excellent restaurants and fascinating shops along the waterfront. A terrific place to spend the day.
