House, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 9-10)

This classic post and beam barn house is beautifully situated on the edge of the flats of the Landgrove valley with amazing views across 10 acres of meadow and forest - southern Vermont's finest!

In winter, cross-country ski off the covered back deck and enjoy warm fires in the fireplace. In summertime, enjoy drinks and meals on the deck while enjoying the view and the seclusion. The location is ideal for hiking, long walks and bike rides, and just 'getting away from it all'. Yet you are only five minutes from grocery and hardware stores, and the house is equipped with Wifi and Dish HD TV.

The downstairs has an open and airy floor plan with a fully furnished kitchen that overlooks the living and dining areas with two amazing views, the fields and town hall in one direction and the fields and forest to the left. There is a woodburning fireplace and a cozy library corner with a large variety of books. There is also a private master suite, a powder room, and mudroom with wood storage and storage for skis/boots/bikes. Upstairs has 2 full bedrooms (one with twin beds, one with bunks and twin bed) and additional queen bed in a loft area. There is also an attic/loft space for additional sleeping or play space for children.

5 miles from Bromley, 15 miles from Stratton, and Okemo, and 15 minutes from shopping and restaurants in Manchester.

About The Owner

I have spent all or part of every summer of my life in Landgrove and it has a special place in my heart.

The Owner purchased this house in 1981
Why The Owner chose Landgrove

Our family has had connections to Landgrove for over 50 years. My grandparents restored an old dairy barn and farmhouse in the 1960's. My parents loved the area so much that they built this barn house down the road in 1981.

What makes this house unique

The valley of Landgrove is one of the most picturesque places in Vermont. It is remote and peaceful and quiet, yet you are only a five minute drive to the nearby shopping center. The barn is cozy and great for a family or a group of friends. The covered deck is a great place to enjoy the wonderful views across the fields. There are many comfortable areas to relax with a good book or sit and chat with friends.

QUINTESSENTIAL VERMONT !!!

WE LOVED THIS HOME ! We rented with our close friends (4adults) in Feb. It was an absolutely beautiful weekend.. It was picturesque Vermont at IT'S BEST!!! It was just so wonderful ...we really wanted to just stay there and enjoy the ambiance.., Although, you are in this remote area, you are so close to Weston, Bromley , Magic, & best of all...if you are a cross country skiing enthusiast RIGHT OUT THE DOOR !
Well equipped, immaculate,beautiful views, comfy beds etc...so very charming I could move in right NOW!

Fabulous winter landscapes to enjoy from the coziness of the barn's informal living room or from the cross country ski trails, which are in the open field. I was able to arrange for lessons from the pro at the Landgrove Inn. An easy drive from Manhattan!

winter visit

My family (my husband and I, our two grown daughters, and one son-in-law) rented this lovely home over this past Christmas week. Everyone agreed it was a picture perfect holiday! We were all comfortable and warm throughout, even during a substantial snowstorm. The views are indescribably beautiful, and we all enjoyed long walks through the area, as well as evenings by the fire. It could not have suited our tastes and needs more. We loved our time there and all are looking forward to our next visit.

Owner's Response: It is a real joy for us to share this special place with others. It's hard to imagine a more relaxing weekend than one spent in our barn-house, curled up next to the fire, enjoying the company of loved ones and the serenity of the Vermont landscape. Now that there's snow on the ground (finally!), there are also great XC skiing trails on the surrounding property that are easily accessible from the house!

Amazing Stay in Picturesque Town!

My husband and I had a wonderful getaway weekend at this charming house. The scenery was breathtaking from the back deck and we loved the plethora of meadows surrounding the property for walking/biking. Can't wait to come back up in the winter and try out the cross country trails! The house itself is super cute - has a nice open floor-plan and plenty of space. Can't wait to come back!

Wonderful getaway!

We just spent a wonderful summer month at your beautiful home...we want to come back for ski season, though we loved the summertime! The wifi access allowed us to work remotely while enjoying all of the area's beauty. We did some great hikes and got in long bike rides on the hills.

We cannot wait to go back!!!
