Fine dining, art galleries, and shopping are three blocks away. Haleiwa is the first and most charming town on the North Shore. Not long after setting out from the Honolulu Airport, you are cruising through a quiet countryside of pineapple fields, entering Haleiwa Town in about 50 minutes. Stop by Matsumoto Shave Ice, famous since 1951. Go hiking through the parks or walk along the boat harbor from your condominium beach access (lightly lit along walkways after sundown) to Haleiwa Joe's for great dining. Or, walk to Chun's Market - a two minute walk for DVD rentals for a quiet night, while enjoying the cool warm tropical air.
Most beaches within Haleiwa have picnic tables and showers. Waimea Bay has waves that can reach 25 feet in the winter, but in summer and spring months its calm, turquoise-blue bay offers one of the world's greatest swimming and snorkeling areas. Sunset Beach offers another great spot for swimming, examining tide pools, and collecting shells in the summer.
This was the perfect location and set up for my husband and I. This condo was 100% chosen because of the available ac in this location. Interestingly we never turned it on. I agree with others which stated the living space gets warm in the afternoon but opening the window definitely draws in the breeze. There plenty of fans also. Having 2 bathrooms was nice. We brought items we didn't need because the condo is reasonably stocked for your immediate needs. The ability to do laundry allows for packing light. The property is very well maintained and has a close neighborly atmosphere. There is a nice lawn area with tables down by the beach. Plenty of swimming area and you are just down from the park. Although we never walked to town it is less than a mile away. We drove for our needs and arrived in a couple of minutes. I would highly recommend the super sized kick your tail Mai Tai from Haleiwa Joe's. We visited the local grocery more than once and whipped up our own food and drinks which was a nice break from the going out. The things to do in this area are endless or just relax and enjoy the rainbows. Venture out a bit for the greatest shave ice at waialua sugar mill which is a very short drive. Stu was more than accommodating as I tend to be needy. He was completely available and was able to offer us a late check out which helped with our late night mainland flight. I would recommend if you are in this same flight pattern just check out and spend your last few hours on aloha time at the Bishop's Museum which is super close to the airport and a really great add to your trip. I would definitely stay here again.
The location for this unit is spectacular - literally steps from a quiet and beautiful North Shore beach. Several times where there were less than a dozen people on beach as far as the eye could see!!
Unit is a bit older but clean and in good shape. I had a concern with the lock when we first arrived and Stu was there within an hour to replace the entire lock system. Very appreciateive of the attention.
This was a nice unit with a great semi-private beach right in the back. The kitchen was handy, there were plenty of windows in the living room, and there's an AC in the bedroom. There's a combination lock on the door, so there's no need to fumble with keys. The beach outside was really nice. We had a great time!
We spent 8 days in this beautiful condo in Haleiwa. The property was perfect for the 2 of us. We didn't cook but were grateful for the fridge and microwave. The owners provided a small cooler and blue ice which we used every single day. We love the north and east shores of Oahu. We me Er went near Waikiki. Just about everyday we found ourselves alone on a beach. Hike to Kaena Point. Turtle Beach to see . . . well turtles of course. Papa'iloa for amazing crashing waves and isolation. The highlight for my hubby was swimming in Magnum PIs lagoon in Waimanalo. Banzai Pipeline is amazing. We just sat and watched for hours! As great as our condo was — as you can see — we were hardly there! Thank you for a wonderful week of memories! xxoo
This condo was perfect for our week long honeymoon! It had all the amenities needed for a stay on the beach, cooking at home or adventuring out on the island. We loved watching the sunset from the beach just steps from our balcony and listening to the ocean every night. Thanks Stu for the great accommodations. We will definitely be back!!
My family, including two adult boys, stayed for 7 days in this unit. The unit is located in a two building complex which is on a great beach which has a reef. We snorkeled here often in the evening after our outings during the day and saw several turtles and many fish. The unit is comfortable and we really appreciated having two bathrooms with 4 adults in the unit. Our boys are tall, both over 6' so the futon was a bit narrow and short for them but it was OK. The living room does get hot in the evenings but the overhead and floor fans do help. The AC in the bedroom was appreciated. The town of Haleiwa is fun - favorite places to eat were Aloha General Store (shaved ice), Killer Tacos, the shrimp trucks, Luibuenos (Mexican). Stu was very helpful and quickly came over to fix a problem we had with the TV and also promptly refunded the security deposit. I think it would be helpful though to have some instructions in the room on how to lower the futon and how to use the TV with the various remotes. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and would definately stay here again.
