The grandeur of yesteryear meets the creature comforts of modern day life in this classic foursquare located in downtown Bellingham.

Original, unpainted woodwork and 10 foot ceilings greet you as you walk through the front door. Three striking sets of sliding wooden doors separate the enormous, yet cozy, living room, formal dining room and entryway - ideal for groups wanting ample space to spread out.

A large, wood-burning Chuckanut Sandstone fireplace graces one side of the impressive living room and a generous bayed-window seat, large enough for a nap, frames the other. A comfy couch and leather chairs make for relaxed TV viewing, catching up with friends and family, or just reading that book you’ve been meaning to get to.

On the rest of the main floor, you’ll find a dining room with seating for 10, a large, fully stocked and beautifully updated kitchen, a half bath and a giant laundry/utility room.

Five beautifully appointed bedrooms await you and your group upstairs. The master bedroom has a king bed and enjoys morning sun and evening shade. There are two rooms overlooking Fouts Park across the street. The other two bedrooms look out into the cedars in the yard. All beds are nicely outfitted with high-quality linens.

The cherry on top is an exquisitely finished 3rd floor family/rec room with poker/game table, games, cable, blu-ray player, foosball table, toys, books and views of the surrounding city. Great fun for “kids” of all ages.

Outside, you’ll discover flower and vegetable gardens, rhododendrons and lilacs. There's a play house to occupy your little ones and of course, the park across the street is a must for everyone.

Situated within walking distance in all directions of coffee shops, restaurants, shops, museums, the waterfront and numerous parks and trials, this home’s location is a walker's paradise.

We are Trevor and Sarah vanWoerden, high school sweethearts, who purchased Sarah's childhood home from her parents to raise a family and continue the amazing memories this tremendous house allows.

The Owner purchased this house in 2002
What makes this house unique

Our wedding, numerous birthday parties, holiday celebrations, and regular, everyday life have happened here. It has served us well. As we prepare to travel abroad, we wish to open our home to allow you and your family to create your own precious memories here. It's too great not to share. Enjoy!

Our family was fortunate to stay for a week in this lovely home last summer. We all loved the spacious, well furnished house so close to everything in town and yet on a quiet street. There were six of us: my husband and myself, our son, daughter-in-law and their two children aged 9 and 6. The children loved playing in the attic playroom and across the street in the playground. We had very comfortable meals in the dining room next to a well appointed kitchen where everything we could possibly need was right at hand. We enjoyed spending time in the spacious living room and slept very well in the bedrooms. In all the years of renting a home, we found this home to be a favorite. Everything was in top shape and very clean.

The perfect house!

I got married in Bellingham and rented this adorable house so that my bridesmaids and I could have the week to spend together. They were flying in from all over the country and so great to have time with my girls while getting ready for the big day.

This house exceed my every expectation. The rooms were big, the beds were comfy. The entire house was clean and well kept. We spent most of our evenings in the main living room, relaxing in the huge leather chairs. There were 10 of us in total, but the house was spacious enough that we never felt cramped or on top of each other. The game room at the top of the house was an added bonus. The owners thought of everything!

Centrally located, we loved that Trader Joes was so close and we stocked the fridge with goodies so we could eat in every night. My husband and I got married at Lairmont Manor, but had our reception at the Bellingham Golf and country club. The house was right between the two so traveling back and forth was quite easy.

It was a pleasure as well to work with the owners. Sarah was beyond helpful and accommodating and made everything from check-in to check-out really easy.

Comfortable home for wedding celebration

My daughter planned a Labor Day wedding in Bellingham. We wanted to gather family from around the country and were thrilled when we found this home. We had twelve people sleep comfortably, including a baby and two little girls.

There was room for small groups to enjoy the two living rooms, the upstairs game room was great for us to gather and enjoy our down time, the dining room table allowed us to enjoy meals together, the yard and park across the street were fun, and the home was in a great location.

The listing accurately described the home and the pictures allowed us to plan for our stay ahead of time. The home was spotless and we had access to all laundry facilities, nice dinnerware, hairdryers, and towels and sheets were beyond what we expected in a rental home. They even provided soap and shampoo!
The owner was communicative prior to our arrival and made us feel very welcome. I stayed ten days as family came and went during the celebration. It was a great place for me to carry out plans for my daughter's wedding and enjoy this special time.

I'm hoping to bring friends to this home in the future to explore the beautiful Pacific NW. I would love to stay here again.

The ideal homebase for family

With relatives in-town for just a few days for our daughter's Bellingham wedding we wanted to make the most of the time they were here so instead of having everyone stay in hotels we decided we'd rent a large house for a long weekend instead. This house was perfect ! Our party consisted of 10 adults and an 11 yr old but this house is so spacious and welcoming there was room for plenty more. The main living room is full of character and was perfect for sharing drinks and stories while if you wanted some time to comtemplate the meaning of life the porch swing was the perfect place to do so. The musicians in the party retired to the 3rd floor to play guitar for a while but then came down and relaxed on the window benches while we lounged in luxury. I would recommend this house to any large group as a place where you can gather but not get under each other's feet - I wish we could bring everyone back to town and do it all over again !

Wonderful family or multi-couple home

Everything that the description says about this lovingly restored Victorian home is absolutely true-- the house really is "all that." Our family spent Thanksgiving there: us, plus 2 of our sons and their ladies made 6 adults and 2 kids (ages 4 and 7.) Our son and his lady who live in Bellingham were constant visitors and we could have easily had more guests. The house is spacious and all the bedrooms are pretty and cozy. The kids were never bored, with the 3rd story room full of toys, videos and space, as well as the park across the street (and the "secret room" under the stairs!) The kitchen is wonderfully appointed, and we cooked our whole Thanksgiving meal with no pot, pan, aplpliance, or utensil found wanting. There are enough dishes, glassware and untesils to probably serve 20. The living room piano is fun, as are the large pillow-filled window seats for reading or just looking out at the views. There was a TV, too--important for football! And yes, we really could easily walk to downtown, and were short driving distance to everything. All in all, we felt like we were lucky guests in a beautiful old mansion full of every modern amenity. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
