Living room, sitting room for reading books and peace and quiet, dining room, or eat in kitchen on the bar. Ready and waiting for your holiday vacation. Covered front and back porch with grill for those hot summer days. Plenty of parking on the street as well as a private driveway behind the house. Step out the front door and go South about 4 blocks and you are at the city park, and beautiful lake Coeur D' Alene, Resort . Walk to the city center and enjoy the shops. Grab a bite to eat at the many fine dining restaurants. Location is close to 3 great ski resorts in the winter, 20 min. to northwest largest theme park Silverwood and indoor/outdoor water parks for all seasons, stree fairs, farmers markets, art walk. The perfect location to explore CDA!

We were 5 adults visiting CDA in August 2013 for 2 weeks. This house is located in a quiet neighborhood in town and is close to everything. Since we are all runners, hikers, mountain bikers, it was great that this location is very close to the Centennial Trail, lake CDA, Tubbs Hill and National Forest. It's only a couple of blocks to Sherman Avenue as well as all the eateries and shops & farmers market. Very easy to walk everywhere.

The house has been nicely remodeled, is quite spacious, nicely furnished and has a kitchen well stocked with cookware. We had some very hot days during our stay (in the high 90s) but the air conditioner worked so well that we would actually get cold! The BBQ worked fine and we used it a lot. The cable and wifi worked great. Didn't realize that the fourth bedroom is a loft so it isn't completely private, but it worked for us. Michelle was great to work with throughout the whole process and during our stay. She quickly delivered a DVD player when we noticed there wasn't one in the house.
The management was very quick in returning my security deposit which I received within one week of our departure.
We hope to visit CDA soon and will definitely stay at the Garden House again!

We stayed at this home over the 4th of July weekend. We had six adults and two children and the house worked out perfect for us. It is a lovely home with lots of room. It was actually a lot more space than we had anticipated. The location was great! Just a short walk to the downtown area, the farmers market, and the lake. Even with two children ages 5 and 7 it was still very do-able. The home is beautiful and we will definitely try to stay there again when we come to Coeur D'Alene again. Thanks!

Stay at house for Ironman CdA

Myself and 7 others stayed at this location for the Ironman. Most of us were athletes so the locations was perfect. It was a few minute walk to downtown, food, the park, the lake, etc. but far enough away from the hustle/bustle of the "busier" streets (if you can call any of the streets in CdA busy). House is 4 blocks away from Safeway so getting food is very easy and convenient.
The kitchen is large, warm and inviting. A lot of space for multiple people to be cooking, eating, cleaning. There are no basics/essentials in the house (sugar, salt, flour, pepper, oil,coffee, etc) so you'll need to buy anything and everything. There is a BBQ but we never used.
The living room was relaxing and comfortable with many spots for sitting and socializing. We had a few people stay for one night and they put up air mattresses in the living room and the formal living room. It worked out really well.
The bedrooms were clean and well organized. The loft with the futon was a smaller/shorter bed so don't plan to put someone tall on that bed. The master bedroom has a fantastic patio area but it's not very accesible to the entire house unless they go through the master bedroom. Great furniture for relaxing in that outside area as well.
Michelle from VRBO was a pleasure to deal with. Very repsonsive and thorough with her emails. I look forward to working with her again.

There are the bare minimum spices in the house because we have found that some people are not comfortable using already opened flour, sugar and other products so we do not stock them in the house on a regular basis. We do however always have Coffee supplied for tenants so we are very sorry that this was over looked and not restoked before arrival but we will make note and make sure it is restoked immediately. We stayed at this property for a Schweitzer ski trip. The house is newly remodeled and beautiful. The house is walking distance to town which makes for a fun trip. It's a short drive to the ski area. House is spacious and has a warm atmosphere. Nicely appointed property. Four of us stayed in the home comfortably.

Ideal Ironman Rental

We stayed at this property the week of Ironman. The house has been nicely restored and has everything that you would need for a week's stay, including an adequately stocked kitchen. It was so much more comfortable and cheaper than staying in a hotel, especially if you have a large qroup. And, it's nice to not have to eat every meal out.

The house is located only 4 blocks from the downtown area and less than a half mile from the city beach. We stayed here the week of Ironman. This house is ideal for this event for ease of access, especially if you have elderly parents or young kids who might need a mid-day rest from spectating. And, you can't beat the 5 minute walk from the finish line back to the house (and a hot shower if you're the athlete).

I'm giving this house 4 stars only because we were never able to connect to wireless internet (but a neighbor has unsecured wireless that we were able to connect too) and there were a few dishes in the cabinet that looked like they had not been thoroughly cleaned in the dishwasher when we arrived. However, the rental agent was responsive to our concerns and promised to take steps to correct them.

On the whole I would recommend this property for it's size, location, amenities, and affordability.
