David Hoeh and Brigid Sullivan are happy to welcome you to our idealistic setting in the Green Mountains of south central Vermont. We feel fortunate to be able to enjoy the beautiful seasons of Vermont and want to share it with our guests. We are experienced world travelers and understand what you need to be comfortable away from home. David's ancestors were early settlers in Mount Holly. He has spent some time here every year of his life. He loves to share local history and his knowledge of great spots to visit. In the summer and fall enjoy the vegetables and herbs from our gardens.
Brigid Sullivan purchased this apartment in 1990
The apartment, attached to our home, with the same spectacular views, is a secret hide away. It is on a dead-end dirt road in a tiny, wonderful Vermont hamlet. At the opposite end of our living areas, the apartment is private and cozy. The property has been David's summer home since the 1940's.
The landscape is beautiful and it is so peaceful and quiet here. You can hear the winds whispering in the trees or howling in a blizzard and then it is quiet again. The skies are clear at night and the stars are spectacular. Venturing outdoors at night is an amazing experience to be cherished. Walk to the village for coffee and pastry or a sandwich. Enjoy the lake with a refreshing swim or ice skating or fishing. Don't forget your camera as every day is different and the scenery is stunning.
The Village is charming with the historical museum open on weekends. Family style dinners at the Odd Fellow Hall are delicious and a taste of real Vermont. Fireworks and the bonfire, skating and hot chocolate on New Years Eve are right out of Currier and Ives.
Music on the Green during the summer is a relaxing way to spend a great evening.
Wow. What an amazing experience from top to bottom Brigid and David's Loft provided myself and my family. The Loft was beautiful, spacious, clean, and had every single amenity we could ever hope to have on a vacation. I loved that we had a full kitchen to make ourselves breakfast every morning and look out onto the beautiful landscape. Brigid and David were both very welcoming and gave us advice on how to explore Vermont. We also had fun with their dog who led us on a hike off the property on the first day there. We had such a great time that I can't wait to book another stay!
I almost hate to write a good review and give this little secret away! The apartment was more than we could had hoped for. Spacious, extremely clean, beautiful view, great location close to Okemo and Killington for skiing. Kitchen very well stocked with pots, pans, and utensils. Kids of course loved sleeping in the loft. Bathroom was very nice and clean. I said the first night I want to come back in summer or fall. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. We just absolutely loved it and can't wait to go back. Our 8 and 11 year olds kept pondering if they could buy the apartment or rent it full time. We, too, enjoyed petting their sweet dog Wilder. A little piece of heaven for sure.
Spent a lovely weekend in this apartment. It had every thing we could have wanted. We cooked dinner one night and went into Ludlow the other, which was just a short drive away. Skiing at Okemo was easy and convienient. The views from the room were amazing. I would come back here every weekend if I could!!
My family of four stayed in this apartment for four days. Every possible thing we could need was in the apartment. There is a full kitchen with a dishwasher, towels, pots & pans, TV with cable, comfortable beds and space to just sit and relax. The best part were the views out the windwos of the Green Mountains! Simply breathtaking. Brigid and David were friendly and helpful. They gave us great directions to get around. It felt like home for four days. Can't wait to go back!
We can't say enough about our trip to the Green Mountains in Vermont. We had been told by many that this would be an incredible adventure -- and our experience more than lived up to the pre-hype. This was due, in no small part, to our accommodations in Belmont, VT. The apartment we had for the week was beautiful. Woodsy and charming and yet outfitted with every convenience. We couldn't have asked for more. From a full supply of bed linens, blankets, pillows, towels, dishes, flatware and pots 'n pans for our family of six, to books and games and cable TV we could use in the evening. And, a dishwasher too! The apartment also had a loft bedroom with a circular staircase -- which was so much fun for the kids in our party. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming. They were great about recommending things to do and see. The mountain setting was spectacular! We had opportunities to hike trails, climb mountains and descend into a gorge. Some of the daredevils among us jumped from surrounding cliffs into the lake below. And the town of Belmont was really charming - a great square for outdoor music concerts, a country store where locals and visitors gathered, a museum that gave us a sense of the area's history -- and more. All and all, it was a great vacation. We'd definitely recommend these accommodations and this location for your trip!
Our family of five stayed at this lovely apartment for a long weekend. The hosts, Brigid and David, were very helpful, thoughtful and interesting to chat with. The location is beautiful, secluded yet not too far from many local attractions. The wonderfully designed apartment is updated, comfortable and filled with many amenities. It was very clean and well maintained. We hope to return and rent again!
This is a wonderful place set in a beautiful area of Vermont. The hosts were wonderful and made sure we had everything we needed. The apartment was spotless and well equipped for cooking, lounging and as a base camp for our ski excursions. Highly recommended.
Badminton, croquet, board games, puzzles and of course, The Vermont Country Store, as seen on NBC News!! Don't forget the alpine slides at Bromley or Pico Mountains and the new, year round Timber Ripper coaster at Okemo Mountain for a great adrenaline rush. We can direct you to great waterfalls and hiking trails as well as other information available.
