PEACEFUL MICHIGAN WINE COUNTRY GETAWAY

Clear Lake Cottage made for the ultimate relaxing couples retreat. It was perfect mix of outdoorsy fun with the comfort of the wonderful amenities that the owner provided. The cottage was a bit difficult to find (according to our GPS) but it was worth getting lost for a few minutes... when we arrived to the cottage we realized it was tucked away at the end of a gravel road in the midst of a large wooded area as well as a nicely manicured lawn. Very private. The pictures online definitely don't do the place justice. My boyfriend and I along with our two friends who are a couple made use of all that the cottage had to offer. We especially loved floating around the very peaceful lake at dusk on the boats. Our friend's brought their Jack Russell Terrier and she seemed very comfortable being there... the cottage was very pet friendly. It was a great place to unwind and de-stress from city life. Clear Lake Cottage is truly a gem and we will definitely will keep it in mind for future visits.

I cannot believe this place has been here all along and we didn't know about it. We have stayed at the Fullers campground across the lake for years in season but wanted to come up to the lake a little early this year for some vineyard hopping. This place is amazing. Super clean, nice rooms, really pretty yard .
The owners left us a bottle of local wine too!

Even in-season the price is better than trying to fit my whole gang into cottages and tents at Fullers. Three bedrooms and we can bring our scottish terrier Baily! We have already booked a summer visit as well. If you can grab a spot here do it - but not our spot :). My family recommends it highly!

We wanted a place with solitude and all the comforts of home and this place delivered. This is a cute cedar cottage tucked into a giant lot so we didn't have to look out the windows and see our neighbors. We loved the outdoor deck and the fire pit in the evenings. My son had a blast playing in the log house. It was his own private fort! We used the pedal boat on the lake and watched a few movies on Netflix on the one day it rained. I think the layout of the cottage is great, with a wide open kitchen so that I could try and disrupt my husband while he laid on the couch reading a book and I made dinner. Our dog Boz couldn't get enough of the long walks on winding dirt roads. It was refreshing not having to deal with Chicago traffic.
