Our 2011 family reunion in Bucerias staying at Hacienda Camino al Mar & the adjoining Casita Camino al Mar was amazing. The villas are beautiful & furnished with everything we could possibly need or want!! The 2 villas together were perfect in every way when it came to accommodating our family reunion of 20.
Having an exceptional staff makes all the difference & you should be very proud of this staff. Luis, Denise, Angela & Betsy were the best! Luis was great - arranging day trips, calling cabs, suggesting places to go, giving directions, surfing guide/instructor, salsa instructor, bartender, etc. There wasn't anything Luis couldn't or wouldn't do. He even took a small group to a nearby orphanage. Originally, we had arrangements to do a day of service with a humanitarian group for kids in PV. We had brought some school supplies for the kids & were suppose help with a project. However, the plans with the organization fell through. When Luis found out & knew we had the school supplies, he told us about an orphanage in Bucerias. He even offered to load up his car & take some of our group to the orphanage to meet with the director & drop off the supplies. It was a great experience & is just one example of Luis's great "can do" attitude.
Denise, Angela & Betsy were amazing as well. I only wish I could speak Spanish so I could express to them my appreciation for everything they did. They have such pleasant personalities & took obvious pride in doing a job well done. They were always smiling & truly seemed to enjoy their job & working with each other. The food was delicious & they were very accommodating for a couple of the more finicky eaters in our group. They kept both homes very clean & tidy – not an easy task given our large group & many children. Even with the language barrier, we left not only with great memories, but new friends. Those in our group who know some Spanish continue to communicate with them via Facebook. Please express to Luis, Denise, Angela & Betsy our sincere appreciation for making our family reunion so very wonderful & memorable.
Thanks also to Shayne for all her help in arranging everything beforehand. She was very helpful & patient as I sent her numerous emails over the span of a year. She was always quick to get back to me and very helpful.
We definitely recommend both Hacienda Camino al Mar & Casita Camino al Mar and we look forward to returning someday!
