PRIVATE 'SUNSET HALE' CLOSE TO BEACH $159/NIGHT

Haleiwa Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Studio, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 2

Nestled in a beautiful country neighborhood, with lush mountains rising above the acre that surrounds you. Farm animals add to the rural setting. In this setting it's hard to imagine that the world's most beautiful and pristine beaches are, literally, just down the road. World-Renowned Sunset Beach Is A Three Minute Walk. And more than 20 other world premier surfing spots are just minutes away, including Banzai Pipeline and Waimea Bay. Spectacular and magnificent beaches abound on the North Shore . . . all awaiting your exploration.

Our cottage was lovingly built in 2008. This stand alone bungalow was designed for island living with an open floor plan and high beamed ceiling. A large central skylight allows you to watch the stars at night while lying in the comfort of your California King sized bed. Smooth and cool lava rock covers the floors. Stunning ''island style'' furnishings help you to know you have arrived in Hawaii.

One of our local artists has graced our hale with exquisite Polynesian style carvings. Furniture is either handcrafted or imported from Southeast Asia.

After a day in the sun you can rinse off in one of our two rain showers: Our INDOOR marble & lava oversized walk in shower, or our large, private OUTDOOR shower. Evenings can be spent lounging on our covered lanai, barbecuing and dining alfresco or relaxing inside with our 46 inch flat screen TV. If you desire a more active nightlife, Haleiwa town offers restaurants, bars and entertainment.

Fabulous eating options abound on the North Shore: A scenic 15 minute drive in either direction offers a sumptuous variety of local, international or resort cuisine. Locally grown fruit and vegetable stands are just down the road. Ted's Bakery is just around the corner (Chocolate Haupia Pies!).

We also have a delightful grocery store, Foodland (complete with Starbucks), which is just 10 minutes away.

The tree-lined bike path across the street makes the Saturday's Farmers Market a fun and easy walk or ride. Luscious tropical fruits, flowers and local artwork are plentiful. Historic Haleiwa town, an old whaling village, has become a shopper's paradise and restaurant-lovers delight. Yet it still maintains it's old town charm.

Every conceivable water activity is easily available to you here: Surfing, Sunbathing, Diving, Snorkeling, Tide Pools, Whale Watching, Fishing, Jet Skiing and more. Lessons are available for anyone with a desire to learn.

In addition to exploring our magnificent beaches, there are countless activities for the energetic visitor. There are fabulous hiking trails including the trail to Waimea Falls.

Other must-sees for the active visitor are Waimea Botanical Gardens, Polynesian Cultural Center, Haleiwa Town, Turtle Bay Resort with it's Arnold Palmer designed golf course, ocean view spa and horseback riding.

The winter months bring added excitement when the waves swell to huge proportions and pro surfers from all over the world assemble to compete in the Triple Crown of Surfing. This is a fabulous spectator sport not to be missed if you are fortunate enough to visit during this time. You can always find sheltered beaches and smaller waves to enjoy the water if the huge ones ''aren't your thing''.

HONEYMOON IN SUNSET HALE WAS PERFECT

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I stayed in the Sunset Hale for our honeymoon, and it was perfect. Private, spacious, and beautiful. It was so much fun being so close to Sunset beach, and only a short drive away from Haleiwa. I absolutely loved staying here, and will for sure stay here again next time I'm on Oahu before I have children.

This is not to be missed!

HONEY MOON STAY

  • 5 of 5
This was the perfect place to stay in Oahu for our honeymoon. The north shore is a great part of the island. Much more quiet and has a much slower pace than Waikiki. Wish we would have stayed here the whole time. The sunset hale is beautiful and well kept. We had zero complaints. Be sure to try Ted's Bakery!

WISH I COULD GIVE IT 6 STARS

  • 5 of 5
Staying here the next time we are in Oahu will be a must for my wife and I. It was the perfect place for our 5 year anniversary. We also have a second child on the way, so we found ourselves calling it a baby moon frequently. There was more than enough privacy, 2 minute walk from Sunset Beach/pipeline, at the bottom of a mountain, on the North shore, NOT in Waikiki with 400K other tourist walking on top of each other, close to walking trails and the historic town of Haleiwa. We stayed at 2 places while on the island, the sunset hale and one that was actually on the ocean. This one was our favorite by far and the pictures, as great as they are do not capture the real character of the property.

Pointers:
Don't do a whole lot of tours, explore the island in your own way
Rent a car- your stay on the North Shore will be limited without one
The Koala ranch tour's are worth your time and money- you cant explore Koala ranch by yourself
Wear a lot of sunscreen-the Hi sun is different and you feel the difference when you leave the airport.

A PLACE TO RECHARGE YOUR BATTERY!

  • 5 of 5
This is our second stay at the Sunset Hale. We loved it so much, we came back this year and stayed longer. The north shore is so peaceful and removed from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu, we never want to leave. The people are genuine and very friendly. The hale has everything we need. The accommodations are comfortable and first class. King bed, nice linens, dish ware is quality. We love the sounds of the country, the roosters crowing and the sheep and goat who greet us every time we arrive home. Yet we are only a few minutes drive from excellent dining in Haleiwa. We will be back!

PARADISE AT SUNSET BEACH!

  • 5 of 5
Sunset Hale is a hidden gem just off the famed Sunset Beach. The Hale is very clean and comfortable. It's equipped with just about everything you could need to make your vacation complete. If there is something that you need ,Foodland is just down the road and the famed Ted's Bakery is within walking distance. You won't want to miss out on their famous chocolate haupia pie! There are also many food trucks and eateries close by.The beautiful Polynesian style decorated Hale will make you feel like you are world's apart from anyone yet you are so close to nearby amenities. Take a walk over to the beach for a sunset that you will never forget!! It's a five star for sure!!

AMAZING, FANTASTIC, PERFECT!

  • 5 of 5
The Sunset Hale is everything you could need and want for a fantastic holiday. From the second we walked in we just knew this was the place, so gorgeous and unique with the most fantastic and relaxing Hawaiian feel and vibe. 2 min walk to Sunset beach, 10 min to Rocky point, 20 min to Pipeline. Safe/secure, quiet neighborhood, and Alia is right on site should you need anything (although everything is already there!) Having the little things like the hammock, electric BBQ, dvd's, beach chairs, chilly bin, shower wash, shampoos, even a half stocked pantry and leftover bits and pieces like surfboard wax etc all helped to make our stay super relaxed and enjoyable. We'll definitely be back. Aloha, mahalo, and a mele kilikimaka to Alia and the Kennedy's, from Aotearoa :)
