With spectacular views of three mountain ranges in the Shields River Valley, the cabin is a perfect place to get away from it all. Perfect for a writer's retreat, family getaway, or use as a home base to explore Montana. It's about a 20 mile drive to local skiing at Bridger Bowl, and only two miles to the small town of Clyde Park which has a country market, 2 bars, post office, hardware store, and gas station. Close to excellent fishing in the Shields or Yellowstone Rivers, and about an hour drive to Yellowstone National Park. The larger town of Livingston which has many art galleries, entertainment, fine dining, and everything else you might need is 18 miles away. We are also about an hour drive to the closest airport and 2 hours to Billings.
Conveniently located off Hwy 89 on the route between Yellowstone and Glacier Parks, the cabin is in the heart of ranch country on a gravel road, perfect for those morning walks. At night you might hear owls hooting, elk bugling and coyotes yapping, while you look up at the star filled sky!
The cabin is newly decorated with country charm throughout. One bedroom has a queen bed, and the other is a futon couch that folds to a bed. In the living area there is a single hideabed chair suitable for a smaller person. We can also accommodate with a Graco Pack and Play for baby.
If you're traveling with horses, we may be able to accommodate them also, as the cabin is located on our 2.5 acre property. There are only 2 neighbors nearby, which is ourselves and one other house.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2008
We love living in the Shields Valley and when we purchased our home it came with a cabin. We are happy to help folks enjoy Montana and give them an option other than a motel.
If you want to view some Wide Open Spaces, this is the place! Easy access off of Hwy 89 N. Country living.
We have really enjoyed our stay at your Montana cabin. You have provided everything we need to feel "at home".
It was fun to have the horses so close. Our granddaughter will be wanting to come back here with us!
Thank you for your advice on places to go around here-every one was great.
We hope to be able to return to this beautiful spot in Montana.
P.S. Thanks also for the eggs!
We enjoyed staying in this cute and very comfortable cabin for 3 nights. The cabin is very clean and thoughtfully prepared. Everything is there when you needed it. The surrounding scenery is beautiful, and the horses, especially Jett, are so cute and genital. We have some memorable moments to feed the horses and watch the starlit sky. We’ll definitely be back and stay for a longer time next time.
Thank you Linda , it’s a real pleasure to meet you and Rick.
A Tip: watch out for wild animals if you are driving to Yellowstone, especially the stretch of 89 along the Yellowstone river.
We enjoyed the cabin for two nights, catching Yellowstone during the day. Amazing views and quiet country sounds.
We had the opportunity to stay here in middle July on vacation throughout the West....Cabin has 180 degree panoramic mountain views from the front porch and everything for a very comfortable stay - bbq grill, full kitchen, and full space for your dog to run around......about 10 miles from the town of Livingston (easy drive) with a market about a mile north.....we had a great time feeding the horses, cooking outside, watching the storms roll in over the mountans and living like the locals - one of my favorite parts of this 3100 mile roadtrip.
About 50 minutes from the North Yellowstone Entrance.... Rick and Linda were great hosts and we'll stay again when we roll through....Highly recommended for those that want a true Montana ranch experience.
We loved staying here, peaceful. Very clean and everything that we needed was available. The owners are very nice and helpful. Close to Yellowstone which we spent much of our time. First time visiting Montana, what a beautiful state. Sure would like to stay here on a return visit some day.
Our stay at the cabin was excellent! Everything looked just like the photos. The owners were gracious and accommodating. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets, a herd of elk in the valley and a great place to walk down the gravel road. Yes, we would highly recommend this cabin for your next stay in Paradise Valley. Thank you Ric and Linda - may our musical paths cross again.
We had a wonderful stay! The cabin was clean and well kept. Loved seeing the horses in the mornings before we left for Yellowstone. Wish we had more time to enjoy the cabin but we were in the park all day everyday!
A great place to unwind. Mountain views, and many local scenic drives in the country. Hiking and mountain biking is nearby, with Yellowstone National Park just a little over an hour away. There is also an enclosed Grizzly Bear park on the Bozeman pass about half an hour away. The night sky is perfect for viewing all the stars and planets. It's very possible you'll hear a pack of coyotes howling in the distance, as well as the elk bugling. The gravel road is perfect for your morning or evening walk. Most likely our horses will be on the property, and they love carrots, apples, and attention!
