Located just off the Douglas Road, at the end of Hill 26 Road, Westwood borders 50,000 acre of the famed Western Pocahantas property. One mile from dowtown Thomas, close to the Purple Fiddle and the Mountain State Brew Pub, Westwood is PRIVATE. A short drive to downhill or XC skiing at Whitegrass, Cannan Valley and Timberline. as well as the Canaan Valley and Blackwater State Parks. If you don't want to drive anywhwere, you don't have to, there are great trails for mountain biking and XC skiing right out your front door. Literally in its own mountain valley, with no visible neighbors, Westwood offers an experience you have to live to understand. Perfect for families and groups that want something different from planned vacation area developments, it lies a short distance from the Blackwater Canyon, you cross the canyon "rails to trails on your way in, just a minutes bike ride from the front door. Privacy and spectacular outdoor opportunities are what Westwood offers, with deer and turkey as your most frequent visitors, its hard to believe everything else you come to the area for is so close.

Oh my goodness, just realized I neglected to post a review. We stayed here in Aug 2011 and loved it! Very private, lots of acreage to roam and adjoins several hiking/biking trails. We stay in at least 3 rental properties a year and know what to look for. This home was incredibly clean, has spectacular views, pets are welcome, the kitchen well appointed, lots of towels and the owners are awesome to work with. What more could you want?
