|Minimum Stay||5 - 10 nights|
Private home, approximately 75 yards across spacious lawn with palm trees to a low dune and sandy beach. The dune area is a regular destination for turtles to come ashore and lay their eggs.
The house is adjacent to a 4-bedroom house also available for rent (see HomeAway Listing No. 281823 or VRBO Listing No. 73607). Quiet residential area, with a hand-cut lava-rock wall ensuring privacy, but only a short walk to shopping and restaurants.
The home is built on one level and made of redwood, with beamed ceilings and large windows. A large lanai faces toward the beach. A grounds keeper lives on-site.
The yard contains lemon and banana trees and other tropical plants. The large lawn area between the house and the beach (shared with the adjacent house) is State land. The beautiful property has rows of palm trees and a banyan tree (great for shade) that is over a hundred years old.
Just a short walk across the lawn area and you are on a peaceful beach, on a shallow lagoon with a fringing reef, where locals fish and gather seaweed in the tidepools. Beyond the lagoon is the open water, facing west to beautiful sunsets. Whales can sometimes be seen and heard beyond the reef during the whale season. To the northwest the West Maui mountains dominate. The area is also used for windsurfing and kayaking or paddle-boarding.

Brian, thank you for sharing your AMAZING home! We just got back from Maui and already miss it so much! We had an incredible time and it was hands down one of our best vacations! The pictures online do not do the house justice….having the beach right there was incredible. We enjoyed coffee and breakfast on the lanai every morning and it was just amazing. The house was comfortable for the 4 of us, but could definitely sleep 6. It was warm and welcoming, and from the minute we got there, we felt at home. The property surrounding the home is relaxing and very well-maintained. We can't wait to visit again, hopefully later this year!
Brian, thank you so much for the wonderful house. It was as close to "home" as we could have hoped for. It's close to anything we needed and the beach was nice and peaceful. We will miss this little slice of paradise. Maholo!
My wife and I spent five nights here for our honeymoon, everything from beginning to end was great. Brian responded quickly and with all the answers to our questions before making our way to the island. When we got to the home we were happily surprised by how perfect it was for us 2 (could easily sleep more). The house was clean and safe and had everything we needed from kitchen supplies, to the bathrooms, AC in the bedrooms, to beach equipment, and outside seating. The home is very conveniently located, around the corner to grocery stores, shops, restaurants, and easy to get around the island from Kihei. We spent most of our time in the back yard relaxing on the lanai or down by the beach, which felt like our own private beach, very quiet and not surrounded by resorts. Be sure to take in the beautiful sunsets from from the lanai/beach! I would certainly suggest this home to anyone that is looking for a non resort/hotel type of stay, you get to feel like a resident of Maui and it's a real treat!
We had an amazing 2 weeks stay at Brian's wonderful home! My wife stated it was like living in a National Geographic movie! We enjoyed wonderful sunsets, all the birds in and around the Banyan Tree, chickens and swimming/sunbathing in your own front yard! Everything that you need to enjoy you stay in Maui is provided! Only problem is that by staying is such a nice place is that you do not want to head out and tour the rest of the Island! We cooked many meals on the awesome Weber barbecue. Thanks Brian and we hope to return next year!
This house was great. It is located right on the beach. There were 6 of us and it was more than enough room. Everything about the booking was awesome. It is less than a 5 min walk to supermarket, restaurants, etc. Highly recommend. Will book again!
This the second time we have stayed at the Reed's wonderful homes in Maui. I wanted to give it 5 stars but to be honest the house is an older home and as expected needs some TLC. However the house is very roomy but cozy. The first week we stayed with our kids and grandchildren. I will admit it was a little cramped but the Reeds made sure we had a bed for everyone. The second week was just my husband and me, and we did not even use half of the house. There is no air conditioning but I felt the ceiling fans and trade winds were enough to make us comfortable. The views are amazing. That porch is where I spent all my time and was in heaven. My children liked that we could adult talk and enjoy drinks while the kids played in the yard and big banyan tree and were safe and perfectly entertained. There was a family of geckos that visited us daily and the granddaughters fell in love. Thank you Brian and Mitzi, we can't wait to come back!
