Overview

Bozeman Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

This 150-year-old historic cabin will capture your westward ho! yearning heart. It has been lovingly restored by the owners and brought to the 21st Century using eco-friendly recycled materials and energy efficient modern appliances.

Private, comfortable and cozy, it is a perfect, quiet location for an active, or not so active, couple to stay a while. The cabin is located on a small ranch at the mouth of Sypes Canyon just 5 miles north of Historic Downtown Bozeman. Relax on the front porch while sipping your morning coffee or evening cocktail. Enjoy the outstanding, unobstructed views of the Bridger Mountains just outside your door! Views of the Hyalite Mountains and the Spanish Peaks welcome our visitors to just sit a while and enjoy the beauty of Montana and the Gallatin Valley.

No matter the season, spend the day enjoying outdoor activities or perhaps shopping or visiting with friends and/or family. Bridger Bowl ski area, blue ribbon trout fishing, public golf courses, hiking and biking trails and are all just minutes away.

After a day of fun, dine at one of Bozeman’s many eclectic restaurants or prepare a delicious meal at home. The KITCHEN is fully equipped with an apartment size natural gas stove and small refrigerator. An additional, larger refridgerator has been added for our guests convenience. In addition to the listed amenities, we provide our guests with a Krups coffee maker as well as a Tassimo brewer, a blender, toaster, and high quality Belgique cookware. Cooking utensils, dishes, flatware, soaps, and linens are also provided. For your use and enjoyment during the growing season, pick fresh herbs and strawberries grown in the garden just off the porch steps.

The LIVING area of the cabin is comfortably appointed with a large, leather sofa, rocking chair, recliner, and dining table and chairs. The interior walls of the cabin are bedecked with colorful quilts pieced by your hostess.

Snuggle up on the sofa in the evening in front of the glowing fireplace, pop some popcorn and watch a movie or your favorite program on the HD/DVD combo 32” flat screen TV equipped with DirecTV’s numerous channels.

The BEDROOM area can be privatized from the living area with a curtain. An antique armoire and bedside table flanks the queen size, iron bed. Burrow in for the night in the comfortable pillow top bed dressed in premium, 100% cotton linens, a cozy down comforter and topped with a quilt also pieced by your hostess. Listen for the songs of the neighboring coyotes or the haunting sounds of a hoot owl to serenade you to sleep.

A refreshing alternative to a stuffy hotel room, the “Bannack” cabin has it all. Enjoy your vacation respite in this unique cabin.

I’m not sure we could have picked a better location, setting or residence than Screwed Together Ranch. It’s semi secluded, yet minutes from town, gorgeous surroundings, and owned by possibly the nicest and most interesting, generous hosts you’ll ever meet. The cabin is just about perfect (and comes with a couple of great stories), compact and comfortable, with some very thoughtful and functional touches (an extra fridge, for instance). Though you’ll never hear it, you’re minutes from the highway. Bozeman itself is strategically located, providing straightforward access to Yellowstone, Big Sky, Livingston, Chico Hot Springs, and no shortage of monster hikes (e.g. Hyalite, Pine Creek, etc.). btw, if you want a rocky road driving adventure, take Portal Creek Road to the Hidden Lakes trailhead; don’t be in a hurry… For a kinder, gentler ride with great scenery, head up route 86 to Bridger Bowl and beyond… Feel like a hike after dinner, head just up the road to Sypes Canyon trailhead, or, take a short drive to the M for a vigorous postprandial ascent. Make sure you don’t leave the ranch without hearing the story behind its name, that is, if you can get Ron to open up a bit. He’s salt of the earth with expansive intellect and scalawag wit, but elusive and hopelessly shy.

Still Bozeman's Best!

Still Bozeman's Best!

The "Bannock" still offers the great accomodations that I enjoyed during my first stay (October 2010), and more. The cabin has everything needed for cooking, outside grill, and large refrigerator. The cabin opens up to a porch with pond and mountain views which can't be beat. The weather was hot but the cabin temperature stayed very comfortable. I can't wait to come back!

Lovely Experience in Restored Cabin

  • 4 of 5
Beautiful setting, loved everything about this place! We woke up at 5:30 on first morning to such an amazing sunrise that even though we hadn't arrived until midnight, we had to get up to take pictures of it! Spectacular! Pair that with the "super moon" a couple of nights later - and what a memorable trip! This cabin is well-appointed with lovely furnishings to make for a comfortable stay. The owners stayed up to personally greet us, and made sure we had maps and local info to help make our visit enjoyable. We ate at Nova Cafe, hiked at Hyalite Canyon and Fairy Lake, and even ventured to Ennis and Virginia City. We did the touristy tram ride at Big Sky, and loved spending time just walking in downtown Bozeman.

The only reason I held back on the fifth star was that it was unseasonably warm (90s) while we were there and the cabin did get uncomfortably warm in the early evenings - but if the weather forecast is temperate and seasonably-appropriate, we'd stay here again in a heartbeat! Thanks, Ron and Kate, for sharing your slice of heaven with us!

PERFECT!

  • 5 of 5
What a charming cabin! After renting a car and driving from SLC we were so excited to arrive at this comfortable and beautiful cabin. Kate and Ron had everything ready for us.. including a warm fire waiting for us. The cabin is private, quiet and beautifully maintained. We would recommend this VRBO to any friend or family member looking for a quiet get-away. There is plenty to do right there near the cabin (hiking or driving) and it is in the perfect location to do day trips for some of the bigger adventures (Livingston and/or West Yellowstone). We truly didn't want to leave and we can't wait to return! Thank you Kate and Ron for making our trip to Montana so wonderful!
