Virgin Gorda House Rental Photos and Description
Bedrooms 6, Bathrooms 7, Sleeps 12
100 Pond Bay's six stunning pavilions are linked together like a string of pearls on a bluff overlooking Pond Bay and Savanna Bay Beaches and beyond, a spectacular wide-angle panorama of blue sparkling seas punctuated by the green island of Tortola and the many islets and cays of the British Virgin Islands.
At one end of the property is the grand king Master Suite in Pavilion #1, which boasts its own private cocktail pool. Fully air-conditioned, this luxurious master suite is the largest bedroom/bath suite at 100 Pond Bay. It includes a Bose iPod dock, satellite TV and DVD player, Wi-Fi for your laptop, telescope, a safe for valuables, spacious stone indoor and outdoor showers with Speakman shower heads (the alfresco shower also has a little secret garden), a completely private covered terrace with ocean and sunset vistas, and a fully-equipped gourmet kitchen. This secluded romantic pavilion may be rented for just two for an enchanting and extravagant five-star lovers' getaway. Situated below the Master Suite is the air-conditioned home gym containing a treadmill, a cycle with bike computer, a universal weight machine and yoga mats.
Adjoining the Master Suite Pavilion are four equal-sized bedroom/bath pavilion suites in a row, each with air-conditioning and a fabulously comfortable king-sized bed dressed in luxury linens. Each of these four superior pavilion suites features a Bose iPod dock, MP3 player, an iPhone charger and iPod player, satellite TV and DVD player, Wi-Fi, a mini-fridge, coffeemaker, wet bar, villa bathrobes, a hair dryer, and a safe for valuables and your laptop. All five of these bedroom suites are creatively designed for complete privacy from neighboring Pavilions. Each Pavilion suite has its own private entrance and parking, a sitting area, and a private covered patio for two overlooking landscaped gardens and the grand expanse of sun-spangled views of Pond and Savanna Bays as well as the Atlantic's blue, turquoise and purple ocean laced with white surf.
At the other end of this property is the Main Pavilion which houses dining and sitting areas and the gourmet kitchen. The striking kitchen is beautifully equipped with a Sub-Zero refrigerator, a Viking Range, an ice machine, and two wine fridges prestocked with a selection of excellent red and white wines. A wine price list is provided so you can decide what vintages you'll select and consume. The Main Pavilion also offers a dramatic gallery off to the side, kissed by cooling island sea breezes, for dining or lounging with a view. Two fabulous pools with infinity edges, which melt into sublime sea views, front the Main Pavilion's pool grotto. The smaller pool has a soothing waterfall feature which cascades into the larger pool.
Right below the Main Pavilion, on the lower level,is an air-conditioned sixth bedroom, the nanny's or teenagers' suite with its own bath, furnished with two twin-sized beds, a TV and an iPod dock/radio.
100 Pond Bay is an architectural dream, perfectly framing the always-spellbinding drama of light, sea and sky of the British Virgin Islands. Every one of its six pavilions looks out to stunning Caribbean Sea vistas. Interiors are a tawny palette of tans and creams enriched by custom-made andiroba wood doors and windows; furnishings are clean and uncluttered. Its straightforward design of sleek contemporary lines clad in cool quartzite stone appears fundamental, but the overall impact of 100 Pond Bay celebrates the owners' detailed vision of a spectacular modern home encompassing a serene and organic balance - its polished tropical perfection, where the interiors flow gracefully into nature's lovely tableau just beyond its doors.
Just below this imposing private home are Pond Bay and Savanna Bay Beaches, two of Virgin Gorda's most spectacular strands of silvery white sands meeting gin-clear water. Guests at 100 Pond Bay may use the deeded walking path to access Pond Bay Beach, or may simply drive down to Savanna Bay Beach in less than a minute. Guests also have the use of the villa's two ocean kayaks and two stand-up paddle boards (SUPs) with a liability waiver signed in advance of arrival. Virgin Gorda's holiday pleasures also include snorkeling, day sails, fishing, parasailing, SCUBA diving - or just relaxing and tanning with a book and cocktail poolside with family and friends.
100 Pond Bay's commanding locale, easy access to superb beaches, and the beautifully-executed custom features in this villa promise luxurious, tranquil relaxation and beauty for the discerning traveler. 100 Pond Bay is a grand oasis of The Good Life, and well deserves its five golden stars!
UNLIKE OTHER VIRGIN GORDA VILLAS, 100 POND BAY DOES NOT REQUIRE A 12% SERVICE FEE! However, you receive excellent service with a smile from 100 Pond Bay's staff, we recommend that you tip them accordingly. The usual tip for each housekeeper is $25 to $50 per week...and if you leave food an drink behind in the villa when you depart, they will appreciate those as well.
As of summer 2013, a new home with pavilions is being built just below 100 Pond Bay. Interior finish work continues inside this home, but landscaping and pouring the driveway has yet to be done. Some construction noise may be heard up at 100 Pond Bay from time to time, especially if you are outside on the terraces (however, we did find while at this villa that the wind and the sound of the surf on Pond Bay below muffles some of the noise). Construction activity below can vary from day to day. But if you would like further details on the current status of this activity, please inquire, and we'll be happy to obtain the latest progress report for you.
100 Pond Bay's security officer will check in with guests upon their arrival, and will then be checking the property night-times, but your privacy is of course completely assured.
This property offers reduced rates for using fewer bedrooms. Exclusive use of the villa is yours regardless of the number of rooms rented. View our rates for pricing per bedroom or request a quote. Rates are based on double occupancy.
Natural beauty is in abundance on the third largest of the British Virgin Islands. Explore the indigenous plant-lined trails, nature sanctuaries and natural wonders of the protected national parks. By mid-morning in Virgin Gorda, many have settled down on one of the many deserted beaches that fringe the island. The pace of life is slow on Virgin Gorda, but if you don't want to spend the day on a beach, there are plenty of other activities. You could explore The Baths- huge boulders provide a myriad of rock pools, secret beaches, and trails. Or spend the morning at a hillside restaurant cooled by gentle breezes while you watch the ferries cross the North Sound far below. Dramatic slopes plunge from Gorda Peak to the turquoise waters below.
