Guestbook comments from the manager
Even with a hurricane on the way we hate to leave...Thank you so much for opening your cottage to us. It was a much needed getaway, and this was PERFECT. Area has so much to offer, and we discovered most of it.

Niagara Falls was a sight to behold. Wineries are all chock full of great wines, and Amish country is an experience to remember. Got some amazing apple dumplings at bakery on Rt. 18!

You have an amazing place here.

PEACEFUL AND PRIVATE

  • 4 of 5
There were other houses near this rental but they seen to be empty except weekends. Lake Ontario was lovely, so much more water than we usually see in our dry Texas. We even got rain while we were there. So lovely. Sunsets are beautiful, we would not know about sunrises, we did not get up before 6 AM. We had 4 adults, and two boys, 5 and 1. We were a little crowded with not quite enough storage space. I know the space is limited but a folding chair or two would help with eating arrangements especially when raining. We spent 8 days there which we enjoyed and visited sights in every direction. We had not visited western New York before and we found it was delightful compared to the rat race of New York City.
There were plenty of maps, brochures of place to visit, games, videos and cooking equipment. Bring your groceries with you especially if you are running late. At night the closest place is Medina for groceries.
It felt so peaceful and no noises of the city. We loved how it seem it like a private beach for just us.
Thank you for your peaceful place and it was fun exploring in all directions - west to Niagara Falls, Lockport, Old Fort Niagara, and Olcott for children rides, east to Rochester to more lighthouses, south east to Leroy Jello, Cooperstown baseball, Howard NY to wedding, and the grand canyon of the east.
It was fun and the people were very nice especially at the railroad museum.

I did not mark disabilities or handicap since the steps into the house (2 or 3) were steep and the house has no clear pathway to move through the house.

ABSOLUTELY REFRESHING

  • 5 of 5
Vacation with my son his girlfriend and my grandson...oh and can't forget miss Bell our four legged family member. What wonderful memories I have. Owners are very helpful prior to our arrival with responding quickly to questions. It is a quaint little home very quiet and very peaceful. Plenty of bed linens and towels. The only downside was no cell phone service. We had Verizon and AT&T phones and neither worked. A little upsetting for me because my parents are 88 and 90 and not in good health. Also there is no landline phone. Perhaps looking into wireless accessibility is something the owners will look into and consider. Very friendly neighbors in fact everyone we encountered on our vacation was very friendly. Close to so much we were there a week and still didn't see half. The lake was beautiful. I can add to my bucket list I went swimming in Lake Ontario. At times the algae was noticeable but I got past it. And it didn't bother my grandson at all. Take boat or water shoes cause the lake stones are a little rough on the feet. Not sharp just a little hard to walk over. Just amazing sums it up. A must see. Already planning return visit.

Owner's Response: FYI - Odd that Verizon cell didn't work, we recommend that...sometimes you need to walk out by lane or near shed in back to get best signal.
Weather can also be a factor. Glad you enjoyed it, come back again!

A PEACEFUL GETAWAY

  • 5 of 5
Our family thoroughly enjoyed this quiet and peaceful place. The cottage had everything we needed. The location is amazing. You can do nothing and just look at the lake and see all kind of birds flying by or watch sunrise and sunset. While “away from it all”, this cottage is also close enough to all the attractions Niagara Falls offers. This trip presented us with a great time and a lot of wonderful memories. The owners were extremely easy to deal with and we thank them for making this part of our vacation planning so painless.

COZY COTTAGE WITH GREAT VIEWS!!!

  • 5 of 5
This place is fantastic, located right on the shores of Lake Ontario. Fully equipped for all of our needs. It was so lovely to eat meals on the deck and the views of the sunsets were gorgeous! We went to the New York side of Niagara Falls less than an hour away and rode on the Maid of the Mist and didn't have to wait in line at all, unlike the Canadian side. Brown's Berry Patch is near the cottage and is such a charming and delicious place to go. We had fires every night. Absolutely loved this cottage!!!

GREAT PLACE TO BE LAZY

  • 5 of 5
Brought my kids and fiancé there for a relaxing vacation. What I got was an awesome vacation. Neighbors are very friendly, owners were easy to work with and the scenic views of sunrise and sunset were spectacular. The cottage had games for the kids, a fire pit to have a romantic snuggle by the fire or roast marshmallows. Nice scenic drive to Niagara Falls. Would definitely recommend this place.

FANTASTIC!

  • 5 of 5
My 4 friends & I were thrilled to find a rental located on Lake Ontario. Our expectations were exceeded the moment we stepped out onto the back deck which overlooks the picturesque lake. The cottage was clean & adorable. The owners have provided a variety of thoughtful amenities - including kitchen supplies, games, books, TV, radio, laundry facilities, & outdoor furniture w/ a chimnea! We did our sightseeing during day into Canada & Niagara Falls, as well as the lovely local towns that boast friendly people, historic lighthouses & delicious food. We enjoyed returning to the cottage each evening to catch the sunset. The homeowners were wonderful to work with...we had the pleasure of meeting Deb, who was a sweetheart! Our only complaint was that our vacation was too short - we already wish we were back on the deck at sunrise waiting for the swans to visit!!
