This unique home is on the bank of the Huron River, conveniently located in the Village of Milford.

Pedestrian-friendly Milford is known for its array of shops and restaurants, outside dining, concerts, and festivals. You can walk less than a mile, through lovely Central Park, to get there.

W Huron St. can be busy at peak hours, but the hillside provides a quiet and peaceful setting on the river's edge.

River Retreat West is an owner-operated home with guest comfort, safety, and satisfaction the priority.

This is a quad-level home. You enter on main level to living room and kitchen/dining area. Dining room has walkout to a river-front dining deck. It's six steps up from the main level to upper level, where there are three bedrooms and one full bath.

From the main level, it's 7 steps to the mid-level den/family room and the second full bath plus laundry area. Den/family room also has a walkout to deck with patio furniture.

Kitchen, dining, den, and Bedroom 1 all have a view of the Huron River from an elevated position.

Guest access: Guests will have the entire house, except for the small basement level, which is used for owner storage.

Wonderful Location and Cozy House

We were in town to visit my husband’s family. We were looking for a comfortable, clean, reasonable rental. This house met all three criteria. The property managers were responsive and helpful. We hope to rent this place again when we return to the mitten state.

Wonderful proximity to everything we wanted. Very clean and well appointed home. Owner was very responsive to checking in and answering any questions. Loved the river view. Will definitely consider staying again.

Nice place to stay while visiting local family.

Love the town of Milford. Nice to stay in our favorite town while visiting family in the area. Wish it had been warmer to use the awesome Kayaks on the beautiful river in the backyard.

Magical Michigan property

Amazingly accommodating. It made us feel at home immediately. We have always stayed in a hotel when we came back home to visit but after staying here we will never do again. This place had everything we needed for a wonderful stay! The beds are very comfortable.

My sister and I each purchased a home on the river, right next door to one another. Milford is a family town, with many families dating back generations. There aren't many lodging options or hotels nearby. We love taking care of these homes, and treat them as our own. We also enjoy sharing them with guests. Most of our guests are here visiting family. When you stay at one of our homes, you're treated as family.

Why they chose this property

We love Milford for its unique charm, walkability, amazing dining and shopping, as well as its proximity to gorgeous natural areas (we’re both nature photographers). Central Park, the Milford mountain-bike trail, and the Huron River itself afford visitors a rejuvenating outdoor experience.

What makes this property unique

This unique quad-level home on the Huron River features many amenities for guest comfort. Enjoy grilling on the river-front deck or paddle a provided kayak to Central Park or explore the river. My sister owns the home right next door, with an identical floor plan and adjacent backyard. Depending upon availability, both homes can be rented for a family reunion or larger group. As sisters, we co-host both properties. We live and work close by and are available to respond to guest needs in a timely manner.
