3 Bdr 3 Bath dock/float rowboat
Blissful Days -aptly describes your stay in this lakeside camp on Mainstream Pond (30+ miles of lake) located in Harmony, Maine. Blissful Days provides three bedrooms with sleeping for six and a shower bath. The house was built and furnished to take advantage of Mother Nature. Your stove and refrigerator are propane operated. Solar power provides your electricity and hot water along with a back-up generator for those sunless periods. This is a great spot for fishermen or hunters (during hunting season) that will truly enjoy their sport while staying at this camp. Blissful Days is only a short drive to the general store and Laundromat in Harmony and a little longer drive into Skowhegan for a larger shopping experience. The area around Blissful Days is full of history. In the late 1800's rich Massachusetts Sportsmen built a hunting/fishing lodge on the lake and would come and bring their families for vacation. In the mid 1950's the lodge became a boy's camp which operated until about 1995. While no longer used, everyone still refers to the property as Castle Harmony and the Wild Goose club.
The camp sits amid open lawn with a woodlands path to waters edge ( about 100 feet) where you have a dock for boating and swimming. The owner of the camp provides a rowboat and kayak for exploring the area. The shorefront provides easy access for swimming. There is lots of privacy here. While there are other camps/homes around, they are a distance away so you will have peace and quiet. Children will especially enjoy the waterfront and if old enough the rowboat and kayak. Jumping off the dock into the lake will be fun as well. While you will have satellite TV and a DVD player to watch movies, or dial up internet service, why not take advantage of the setting and play some of the board games provided or read as you watch the sun setting over the lake, or how about a game of croquet or badminton? There is lots of wooded area for the kids to build fairy houses or collect rocks if they tire of the waterfront.
Just imagine lying in the hammock on the porch and listening to nature as you read a book or watch the children playing nearby. Picture yourself sitting at the picnic table on the deck, enjoying lunch or dinner ? perhaps a fish you caught in the lake and watch the eagles soar overhead or sit at water?s edge and watch the beavers work on their dam (across the lake). They sometimes come over to this side and take a tree from the woods near you and float it across the lake to add to their dam.
This camp sits on a large property with 250 feet of waterfront to enjoy. The owner has built this camp to be environmentally friendly with solar power and propane appliances and a wood stove to assist with heat in the fall/winter/early spring Main floor has a full kitchen, living/dining room with sliders to the deck, bedroom with a king bed and shower bathroom. The second floor has a bedroom with a king size bed and a second bedroom with a double bed and set of bunks. The two bedrooms on the second floor are separated by a flying bridge walkway, looking down on the living/dining area. Blissful days is light and airy feeling.
